Rewatched the show with my brother (that haven't watched it yet) a month ago, still holds up really well, though the pacing is weird. One of the cases where (good written) filler would have improved things since Tanjiro basically speedruns the various demon ranks.

Not really watched much Anime apart from a few Studio Ghibli classics but I've watched the first ten episodes of this and found it great. Has there been a confirmed release date for season 2 yet? I've seen that it is due out this year but nothing concrete.

Supposedly October of this year.

Just got into this series this weekend and ended up binge watching. I was expecting generic shonen but got some top rank shonen instead. I really like how they show some of the demons to be more tragic figures and not just villain of the week fodder.
 
Haven't touched the manga cause I'm lazy but I'm currently watching the Entertainment District arc weekly and have been enjoying it for the past two episodes since the action is starting to ramp up a bit. I'm sure the manga is indeed great, but I live for sakuga-tier fight scenes and Ufotable has been my favorite anime studio for that kind of stuff for a while. I'm worried that the manga might be a downgrade by comparison.

I love the action, animation, and design so far this season, but it constantly makes me wish it wasn't a shonen anime with the constant yelling and inner monologue

The recaps they occasionally do in the beginning of episodes remove some of the monologuing, and it's truly spectacular when the fight scenes can flow without constant talking

Well the thing is, it takes time to make poison. AFAIK, Shinobu's really the only one out there outside of Tamayo who can make poison. Or at least, thats what we're shown, but it is a lengthy process since there's the chance the demon could be immune to it, or it'll require a larger dose for it to take any kind of effect.
I.E Douma.

It was an animation blowout from Ufotable and it has replaced episode 19 as the best in the series for me. Just insane. They really went all out.

Someone might also wanna check if their animators are even still alive after that. Cause they have been going nuts for like 4 straight episodes.

I actually saw a second animation studio in the end credits. NUT Studio was there. The studio behind the Youjo Senki series and movie.
 
When reading the beheading part in the manga, I was thinking, "Tanjirou looks hardcore".
Leave it to Inosuke for the from-the-behind victory clutch. It won't be the last.
 
I haven't watched the new season but /a/ has had multiple 300+ post threads absolutely seething about how KnY is just a generic shounen, that all of the characters are flat, the fights last forever and O MY MOVING ORGANS and how Ufotable's entire business model is to pump money into undeserving series in the past day so I'm going to guess that it was really, really good.
