Which makes me ask the question: What happened? Patty did fine in the first movie. What changed? From what I heard, Patty had less supervision. Thus, everything can be blamed on her.
I could buy Snyder had a lot of say in the movie. But the one thing that makes me doubt he should get that much credit is the fact that the first Wonder Woman movie is just too idealistic to be his.
For example, the whole “I believe in love” speech is too traditional and too idealistic, to be something that came from the man that wanted to deconstruct superheroes. It’s just not his style. Perhaps it was a joint effort. My guess is that he brought the ideas and she kept the heart.
Snyder's ideas for WW as far as I know topped out at "it's set in WW1" and the entire moronic final act with Professor Lupin being revealed as Ares. He was also apparently responsible for the depiction of Luddendorf as a cackling Nazi general caricature years before Nazis actually existed.
Jenkins is actually responsible for a good amount of WW not being total shit like toning down the whole vicious warrior woman aspect and trying to make her more along the lines of classic WW. Which is why even that movie has some weird tonal whiplash with Jenkins trying to do an old school, pre-Crisis Wonder Woman while working around Snyder's vision of Wonder Woman. She also apparently didn't like Gadot as the casting choice for WW but had no choice because of Snyder.
WW84 is actually weirdly closer in spirit to old Wonder Woman comics than the 2017 version.
One thing people miss a lot about the first Wonder Woman is that Patty is honestly barely a part of the film. Snyder did most of the direction (which shows in the action, especially when compared to WW84).
Funny thing is, it showed a sign of WB fucking over Snyder because of their version of Ares being a regular joe:
Is way more, for the lack of a better term, neutered compared to the one Snyder wanted in:
However, the writing had a lot of one man handling the charge on Wonder Woman herself. Allan Heinberg. For those who have no idea, Allan Heinberg is considered the somewhat resident Wondie expert at DC since the 2000s, they get him for consultancy anytime they want a Wonder Woman story done right. Seriously, they use this dude to
make crossover one-shots even now just because no one really knows how to make a Wondie story without making it some empowering girlboss shit.
We saw what happened when Patty gets full charge with WW84. Wondie is a rapist now who fought a pathetic Trump expy.
Melissa Benoist at least looked pretty in the CW series and had charisma.
Problem was the show was the worst woke propaganda had to offer.

This show is so bad that you can find an entire
playlist dedicated to videos shitting on it, including the famous Supergirl Superfeminist Supercut trilogy.
Hell, PewDiePie made a video on it too
It led to an extremely pathetic response video by a CW shill.
Snyder, in a rare W realized Rorschach is /ourguy/ and made him the unambiguous hero and everyone else whores and hypocrites.
There’s only one character in Watchmen who Superman would shake hands with and isn’t the blue edgelord, the actual whore, the Silicon Valley homo or the fatass who “quit” when the going got tough.
Walter Kovacs is the hero.
The film also led to the best ALS Ice Bucket Challenge which clearly makes it the best adaptation of Watchmen.
Alan Moore could never...
Seriously tho, nukes are cooler than the alien to me.
