You're right that Kat was what made him turn into Puritan-side Phil on stream. Girls, ick, married guys don't look at girls.
But he has sooooo many comments and insults telling people to eat his ass, suck his butthairs (that was yesterday?), everything about what (always male) detractors need to do to his ass and balls. Saying that doesn't make you gay, technically, but do people who don't think about that stuff bring it up so often while also cringing and hiding when a woman is on screen?
The other thing is that Phil does a LOT of projection. Every insult (hyperfocused, always online, stupid, obsessed, no-life losers) he uses 100 times a stream are the same things we say about him. And guess what---he certainly loves to call others guys gay. Drama is gay, PPP is gay, etc. Coincidence I guesss.
There's a lot of evidence in the "closeted" pile.

This is completely unsubstantiated but my read on Kat is Phil is afraid of her, and maybe women in general. Leanna was some young fangirl that didn't have much knowledge of the world at the time of their relationship so I imagine she was easier to handle for Phil, not in like an exploitative sense but that she'd be more willing to go along with Phil being the "older man" in the relationship. Kat on the other hand is a grown woman, and despite her clearly not being the sharpest she is a full adult.
I think it takes little more than a little stinging comment from her while Phil was busting out his dudebro-tier jokes year 1-2 of their relationship, just something a little underhanded and cunty like "talking about vidya girls that way while you have a girlfriend is kinda creepy" and then he's fucking rattled so his autism + weird oedipal complexes kick in and downloads that as the new personality "oh right I am in a relationship and a mature adult why am I still sexualizing other women"

Not to drag the conversation out, but I was always in the camp that Phil is probably just incredibly low testosterone and seemed like he was too mentally regressed to think of girls as anything but punchlines for Spike TV era jokes. I think he's also afraid of anything sexual because he knows he's bad at it, so he basically does the same thing when he's trying to avoid gameplay, making up excuses, with puritan Phil being his go to. It's like how he'll randomly declare a game unplayable because of bad writing or being woke or whatever else, then declare another game the one that will save the stream, even if it's getting the exact same criticism, but for whatever reason, Phil actually wants to play it.
And I still think all of that is true. But, all of that can still be true *and* Phil could be deep in the closet. You guys are looking too deep into this. His refusal to engage with female-style individuals in a sexual way during streams doesn't stop him from cranking the old pipe during his "free time". Like someone else said, it could be because he is overly worried about YouTube guidelines. Or he wants to appease the few actual fans he has. Or he is stepping on eggshells because Kat leaving him would be a huge blow to his ego. Likely a combination of all of this plus other factors like his desire to play games in the safest most sterile way possible.

In spite of it coinciding with Khet's appearance and how she acted with Subaruman, I don't think she had any direct influence over it because if she was really concerned with Phil being "creepy", Khet would also make him stop all the comments about male anus and dicks. Phil is simply a faggot and hates anything remotely resembling femininity (except MAYBE mother figures), even crossdressing twinks as shown by his reactions to a segment in FF7 and the word "femboys" possibly due to trauma of Linda being a "tease" or cheating on Dave with other men (The KC Christmas film actually had depicted this lol). Luckily for him, the "Mathoor Adult" LARP to save face coincided with it.

He's very, very hard to watch anymore, aside from COD right now, but even that isn't that fun or interesting unless you want to be wowed by how all the stuff he bought changed literally nothing about how much he sucks at shooters. He is a player that actually needs a controller and aim assist, but he insists on using keyboard and mouse, as though anyone cares about the gamer street cred of a middle-aged man who struggles to pull 200 live viewers on the biggest video sharing site in the world after being on it for nearly 20 years.
I had hoped that Rimworld would be more entertaining, but it's just a bunch of Whuddo-I-do. THREE streams to play around with his tutorial colony on baby difficulty, and he's learned nothing! It's almost as bad as him taking 12 hours to do the fucking Metaphor Refantazio demo. He really doesn't understand games like that and Dwarf Fortress are about emergent gameplay, and failure is part of the game.
Worse still, he's made the script for his begs twice as long by counting engagement as part of support, when he's probably single-handedly hampering himself in the YouTube algorithm by splitting streams into parts instead of just setting up timestamp chapters on the VODs themselves. He would save himself a lot of time and bullshit by just not wasting time recording 1-hour chunks of his gameplay. The ad revenue can't be worth it at this point, but I imagine the busywork makes him feel like more of a professional. (As an aside: Phil, giving yourself menial tasks because you have no hobbies and interests other than gacha, shopping, jerking off, eating fast food, and chugging liquor is junkie logic. Work smarter, not harder.)
The prestreams doing board meetings and eagerly sharing his neuroses are him at his most entertaining, and Raw Phil is unironically the best way to consume his content. Phil's chat is also way more fun than he is, mostly on Kick. YouTube is too locked down to be much fun, so the larpers there are walking on eggshells.
I will say, next time Pokemon's on, keep an eye out for LuciePoxy. He's probably my favorite Kick chatter right now and half his shit is him typing stuff like, 'plez jospor kin', 'pokman gayn', and, 'my gaye cuzinn'. I don't know why it's funny, because it sounds stupid when I try to explain it, but it's perfectly retarded.

This is something that I've always struggled to understand. You even see this on detractor vods. Some of them, at the moment of posting, have thousands of "free" views.
DSP has previously left VODs on, and he's got significantly better views than his videos, but for some god damned reason he doesn't want to do it every stream, despite it being the easiest and most efficient way of getting views.
So he sticks to 5-6 daily uploads that all get about 500 views. Which, I suppose, is better than getting 500 views on one singular upload.
In times like these I'm grateful that Phil is a mentally raped faggot, incapable and helpless to a degree of comedy. If he had any common sense or wits he would have been thousands of times more annoying.
