I was watching yesterday stream and I noticed that the game has an option for ranked matches, at first I thought that Phil only played in lobbies because that was the only option available, but are you telling me that mister 4th at EVO best street fighter 2 player in all of America is such a scrub that he plays casual matches instead of ranked? I googled it just to see if there was a reason for him to do this and all I could find is one post of one guy saying that he had trouble finding matches but this was 3 years ago and I didn't find similar comments anywhere else, this is like saying you were the best chess player in all of america and then instead of playing ranked games online in the biggest chess platform (figthcade) you go play casual matches on a website no one uses.

Phil has expertly shifted his rebrand onto all his 'fans', time and again he puts the onus on the veiwers to like the videos, to give him ideas, to get people to subscribe because he won't can't do anything more to try and improve the streams. So when it gets to the year's end and Phil's channel is struggling for 400 subs (if YT don't introduce gifted subs) you can be sure it'll be the people's fault, not Phil's.

I would be shocked if they let Phil snort and squawk his way back onto the platform...but then again, it's Phil. Cunt was born with a horseshoe up his ass. I think it has more to do with tapping into the "behind the scenes" audience, the behind the scenes audience is not present in the streams to give him money but if he has super thanks enabled he has a way of monetizing them.

Edit: I'm watching his pre-stream and Phil mentioned how other channels have their subscribers like the videos,share it around,leave comments and have big thread conversations both with the content creator and other people. I wanted to mention that a comment having replies is almost impossible on Phil's channel, first Phil uploads the video and doesn't approve comments until hours later or maybe the next day, which means all the people leaving comments can't reply to other comments because they never see other comments in the first place since they are all in limbo until Phil approves them, then when he approves the comments he needs another person to reply to a comment someone else made before, if that happens then more hours or maybe a day go by until Phil approves that next comment and then another person needs to reply on the comment thread, it's almost impossible for a comment thread to happen because every comment needs to be approved with hours in between,therefore killing all momentum, and also Phil videos don't get views after the first few days , they get views the moment they are uploaded and one week later no one ever clicks on them again so there is even less chance of comment threads happening since they need to happen on the first days, I wanted to point out how ridiculous it is for him to want people to interact with each other in the comments when he needs to approve every comment with hours of time in between, it would be like if instead of having a main thread we had a thread for every stream, a mod here needed to approve each post and then the mods wondered why no one is talking to each other.

Also his comments are nothing worth replying too, his fans are all unfunny wheelchairs incapable of saying anything witty, if you go to his videos all of the comments are something like "good old sf" , "keep it up" , "see you tuesday!", "thanks again as always", "another solid day". They are a bunch of Derichs who would reply to something like that.

To be honest usually in fighters the real killers are in casual/player matches. In my region at least very high level players have a very limited pool of potential matches. If Phil played ranked it would actually be easier because he would face other speds at the same skill level as him.

Why would that even matter? Phil’s income is an extremely easy topic to keep track of, thanks to a dedicated few ().
It’s not exactly unknown that DSP is making $10k a month even though he’ll never bring it up himself and will ban you for mentioning it. No one believes the poverty angle anymore, not even his whales. It’s why he’s retired it almost entirely aside from “I need money to splurge on the weekend doods”
The few whales he has left don’t care about this kind of thing. People tried to talk to Slayer about this topic and he just ran crying to Phil about “harassment”.
Anyways, Phil never shows gratitude for “behind the scene” donations and Super Thanks would take a cut from the tip, so he’s still going to prefer direct tipping. I really don’t see how this benefits him.

It will be virtually impossible to track if his 50-sock whales are able to give him money on 3yo videos instead of during his livestreams. It'll also allow him to play the pity card when that money stops being given on the livestreams and the $$$ appears to be in decline (although they could already do that through Paypal)

Dislikes arent visible by default, but that metric is still being measured, isnt it? Nintendo isnt gonna care because they use YT for PR. Disliking a Pokemon trailer wont out them out of business. They dont need the engagement.
