Guys...

I mean I thought this was gonna get a second season. The ESGs...the woke populace...the fact Japan wants to become westernized and PC...was I lied to?

I thought this was gonna be a hit but why aren't people watching it? I thought we all realised Get Woke Go Broke was a lie spread by coping retards.

What is going on?! WHY DID IT GET CANCELLED?! THIS ISN'T HAPPENING! OH GOD!

Good.
Fuck the showrunners. Fuck Daniella Pineda. Fuck Mason whatshisname. Fuck every nerd culture journo that shat on the fans for not wanting to watch or support this shithole reboot.
This is what garbage like this fucking deserves, to be thrown out rather than be tolerated.

"Pop culture" "Journalists" shouldn't be making constant excuses for slop like this, writing puff pieces about how it #fixed Bebop's problematic, unglamorous depiction of Gren in the original by turning him into a troon stereotype played by a drag queen, and how Faye totally needed to be made a lesbian because #empowerment and #diversity and #inclusion.
Some Twitter lulz not worth the effort to officially archive https://twitter.com/senatornaomi/status/1469196996162555904
She apparently was actually a Bebop writer's personal assistant but that doesn't make it any less funny. Also a radical eco-leftoid, raging lesbo, rootless jew against borders and private ownership, and avid consumer of Contrapoints and Vaush (though, prefers when Vaush doesn't claim that bLack separatists genociding whitey would be a bad thing). Just your average Netflix employee..
People like this can especially get fucked. Part of the reason why "pop culture journos" go so soft on these shows is because they're usually friends with and/or want to impress the people working on shithouse shows like these and keep them in their good graces so they can one day go, "Hey, I wrote that fluff piece on that garbage reboot you made recently, can I have a position writing for your new show?" and elbow their way into the industry.

The whole "buh-buht think of the team behind it!" shit is nonsense. You made a bad product. People are going to rail on it endlessly because it's fucking dogshit. Grow up and deal with it. The world isn't Twitter where you can block out any negative feedback at the press of a button.

People shouldn't have to eat shit out of some imaginary obligation to people they don't know personally and don't fucking care about who chose to take a job on a project that 99% of people outside their hollywood circlejerk will hate. If this moron wants to use a food metaphor, people shouldn't have to eat bad food just because the team will starve if they don't.

If you announce that you're going to make a certain dish people used to love, people want a faithful recreation of it, don't serve them a half-eaten Big Mac you found in the trash and demand that they consume it and like it. Git gud or learn to fucking code.

I'm curious what the other actors have to say
Honestly she's the only person I feel bad for in this entire scenario outside of Mustafa Shakir. The internet tore her apart for how the screenwriters wrote her as Ed.
that and her parents are raising her as nonbinary
All style, no substance. Just like the Netflix adaptation's half-assed attempt at forcing stylized scenes.

>that awkward moment when you realize that it took a full month for this to finally get canceled
>still surprised that it was on Netflix for a month
>yet no one will still watch the original anime
>even while still subscribed to Netflix
>pic related

Yep it’s official. Thank fuck, this actually gives me hope for audience expectations In the future, Television may not have the smartest viewers but we know when we’re being served shit and will not just pit up with any shitty remake or bastardised version of better foreign shows. This is this is a sign that hope the remake/reboot Dark ages we’re in will finally subside, and American tv writers will finally go back to what people are actually interested in, original fucking stories. Although I have my doubts.

Not meaning to doublepost, but the recurring cast and screenwriter has just went on to Twitter to talk about their disappointment on what it’s like for Cowboy Bebop’s live action show to get cancelled.

Geralt has been vindicated.

Shockingly, I actually don’t want rag on anyone involved in the live-action Cowboy Bebop too hard because I know how hard it can be come up with something artistic that people will like but it's impossible to feel sympathy for those among the cast and crew who were practically gleaming with spite and contempt for their audience and the source material, in very public ways and are now crying about losing their jobs.

Oh and the handfuls of freaks like this who are mourning the live-action remake, really can't stand these people either.

The only "people" that enjoy this shit are tasteless queers like this freak that didn't watch the original CB and normally hate anime, simply watching this cash-grab Netflix trash out of spite towards "toxic" fans. So good riddance to bad rubbish.

Geralt has been vindicated.

"It’s impossible to please everyone. The only thing toxic reaction does is stop them from considering making any more live action adaptations. Hope your happy with yourselves."

And this would be a bad thing why? Oh my gosh, no more shitty politically correct westernized bastardizations of classic Japanese IP, how will we live with ourselves in this terrifying dystopia? Did he type this with a big black dildo with the words HOLLYWOOD stamped on it shoved up his ass? Fuck yeah, I'm happy with myself if that's the case.

These people need to stop ruining everything.

They fucking butchered Cowboy Funk so hard its basically irecognizable in the netflix show. I feel no pity for anyone involved but for the actress that played Ed. From what Ive seen in interviews she seemed to actually be a fan of the show and even started going by "Ed" after the show came out.

Imagine showing up for 30 seconds as a way to hype up season 2, only to get btfo by the entire internet and to be fired from your first major gig on your birthday. oof
I do feel bad for Ed's actress, but it's funnier that that's how the show ends and it didn't deserve a season 2 even it would have given us more to make fun of.

How do people like this get hired?

Is it because they are trust fund poorfags who will work for nothing to get an IMDB credit?

Anybody involved in botching an IP with a loyal fanbase 20 years after the fact should be blackballed.
These people essentially view the entertainment industry as some sort of welfare program.

Entertaining audiences is a distant third, fourth or one thousandth to being able to make money, stroke their own egos, virtue signal to "own the chuds" etc etc.

So the cowboy bebop screen writer Keiko Nobumoto is apparently dead aged 57.

She worked on episodes of wolf rain and cowboy bebop and was involved in writing the script for one episode of Carol and Tuesday.
Cowboy Bebop Screenwriter Keiko Nobumoto has passed away

i blame the live action cringe killed her.
This is such bizarre timing, 20 years after the premier of the original anime on Adult Swim, we get the terrible Netflix adaption and now this screenwriter passes away.

Not been a good time to be a Cowboy Bebop fan, RIP.

Maybe you should go outside instead of being a fucking retard

While I'm personally more open to some live action stuff, I won't mind if they don't make any at all. Especially since shit like this being cancelled can be less of an incentive for hacks who want to make a quick buck off of existing properties. If you're going to make an adaptation of anything at least understand the source material and what sort of themes it has. Soybop didn't understand that which is evident from how the showrunners/writers are talking about it.

Seriously just because comic book adaptations are free to make major deviations from the source material, doesn't mean that applies to literally everything else.

It's telling that Mustafa was the only one to actually post an appropriate meme image.

As for The Witcher? Despite all the Nogging, you can tell it came from a place of serious love. Henry Cavill pulled for that role and it really shows. Plus Yennefer has nice tiddies.
I saw a tweet from someone on set that Cavil will constantly do things like requests lines from certain scenes in the game or correct how a character would actually be acting in this situation. They called him “Witcher Bible”.

Honestly the people involved's reaction confirms who actually gave a shit about the source material. Mustafa and Ed's actor made references to the original show with a quote or image while Cho and Daniela posted generic reaction images. The writers that have reacted thus far have acted like entitled dipshits about it.

I'm not saying that to say that live action anime is inherently good. It's more that the excuse of "oh of course live action anime will be shit" is just a lazy excuse as so many have tried to make it work like with those two examples and countless examples from Japan. The issue with these adaptations is that usually it's someone who doesn't get the point of it is the one at the helm. Cowboy Bebop is quite literally one of the easiest anime to adapt to live action since it has a more western style and is very grounded, the showrunners however thought the show was a science fiction comedy and tried to be more of a cartoon than the original animated show.
The thing is: You have to love it first, then understand and aim to do without any brakes. Look at City Hunter for example, the director (who also plays the main actor), clearly loves the work, he understands the work as a raunchy comedic action series. He does the same type of jokes that it would be made in japan in late 80's/early 90's.

For most of there people involved, it is just another job, there isn't love for the thing it is adapted, they just want to keep churning it out and getting paid. So you clearly never gives your all, and people who watches knows it, it was the same shit with the 3D Saint Seiya written by an American, his reasoning was so idiotic that he was lambasted by the fans.

First you need to love, then to understand and then to realize.

Here are the trailers for the city hunter movie, watch them, they are good.

Exactly to make a good adaptation is to have respect for the source material and actually try to respect it. That is why the Japanese and American film adaptations of Death Note succeeded and failed respectfully. The Japanese film had respect for the manga/anime and made a competent film whereas the American film didn't have such respect and missed many of the messages the manga was trying to convey, and as a result made the worst live action adaptation ever made..

And even so, movies and TV series are always a risky problem because there are lots of people where it could go wrong. Imagine one writer who clearly doesn't give a fuck and just want to be paid, he will write a shitty episode and will get paid, such episode could be as bad and ruin the whole story. And this goes for a lot of things and it is one of the reasons why I don't like TV series or movies. There are lots of ways it could go bad.

And in bebop case, the writers are writing for themselves, not for the audience, they are just massaging their own ego, using the series to jerk off themselves, even more when it is netflix who doesn't give shit about what is being produced, just want the numbers.
