Ed was always cringe. Its just all the more apparent with a real person. Weebs disassociate with their shame easier when its a cartoon. Like with pedophilia.
Ed is supposed to be a wacky mildly obnoxious energetic goblina ass child. They could have used a child actor or something like that but instead they went with this tumblr/twitter appeal attempt type of wacky cranked up to 11 shit.

Maybe it’s the damn Seinfeld edit clouding my perception but Netflix Faye really does sound like a nineties sitcom female lead but as written by Anthony Burch.
I got those vibes before the seinfeld edit, and then the fucking blatant bootleg seinfeld diner segment cemented it for me.

Ughhhhhhh. Can't wait to see how this untalented flow circus that is Netflix is gonna fix the last airbender & one piece. Gonna be awesome /ssssss
Even if this is sarcastic, I think bizarrely One Piece could be the only live action adaptation of an anime that would be good, only because the casting is actually good and there are more fans working on it in more important positions (such as the head writer).

Not that it will be guaranteed to be good (especially if they just follow the anime which will be a bad idea), it will just certainly be better than Bebop where it was clearly skimming the anime and missing the point of every detail in the show.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=C3PWVg7hQ0YHoly fucking shit they have filmed an entire season of this and yet they still dont know shit about the original show.

Whats the name of Spike's ship?
"The Bebop... No, wait... Thats Jet's ship... Uh... the Swordfish... the Sword? Yeah... the Swordfish"
Does Spike have a fake eye?
"I dont think he does..." "Yeah, I dont remember that..."

John Cho's fucking killing it on a sick hit Netflix show
Oh is he in another series? Because she can't possibly be talking about Cowboy Bebop.
And yes, Keanu Reeves loves our show
I get that she was(hopefully) trying to make a joke but she just exudes bitchy, obnoxious vibes and it kind of kills the joke for me.

Also of course she had to bring up that she smokes weed.

The worst part is that travesty of an ending. I just can't absolutely comprehend any logical reasoning behind it besides "subverting expectations", which completely misses the point of the original. The anime ended that way because it wasn't supposed to have any sequels, and it was satisfying. I can't think of anything more insulting and tone-deaf than what Netflix did to CB. Like, seriously, was this made by people who hate the original this much?

I rewatched one of the episodes and the Pierrot Le Fou episode is probably everything wrong with the show in one package:

- Unnecessary additional details about pre-established characters (Ein being actually a robot who was there for Pierrot's experiments since he is scared of dogs now)
- Antagonists being rewritten in worst ways with connections to the Syndicate (Pierrot being hired by Vicious to kill Spike, being able to speak fluently and knows how to hack machines while he only acts crazy in battle)
- The bond between the Bebop crew being in your face about them being family (Jet taking Spike and Faye bowling for "Family time" with him and Spike holding a small birthday party for Faye)
- Lots of shit humor (That Blackmail lady flirting with Jet while he asks her for information)
- Vicious being a cartoon character (His convoluted plan to kill the elders, which happens in this episode while he makes stupid faces while killing everyone and returning back to Julia)
- Additional whiny angst (Vicious whining to his dad for not treating him like a proper son, Spike doing the stupid "I must do stupid shit to distance myself to protect my friends" trope because he really is scared of the other members of the Bebop crew knowing he is Syndicate, and the last scene with Vicious + Julia being shot like VIcious is about to rape Julia.)
- Inconsistencies within their own continuity (Pierrot freaking out at the sight of dogs yet he has a machine that allows him to hack into robot dogs to control them, and seems perfectly sane while doing so)
- Faye and Jet both being dumbasses while Spike is the cool smart one
Thanks for watching it so I don't have to. Holy shit that's bad. So they took one of the best episodes and made it the worst episode.

Yes and the worst part is the final fight between Spike and Pierrot looks like a really cheap imitation of the original fight.

Both of their fights were shit with one being Spike, Faye, and Jet fighting him together and quip while doing so.

The Second fight is just a cheap imitation where the lighting is horrible and looks really low budget. It doesn't help the way that Pierrot goes out is dumb where he just cries for his mommy (like the original) after being stabbed and seeing a tiny robot dog that he can easily just shoot away, and then flies off into space with his hover boots.

It's the cheaper and lazier version and felt like it was lazily rushed to just get to the "main plot" as Pierrot just feels like a filler villain meant to distract Spike.

EDIT: I rewatched the original episode of this and it's even worse since only Spike fights Pierrot by himself in Netflix yet had the other crewmates help him out like Faye giving him time with many of the locations being more creative as the amusement park setting is used to it's advantage whereas it just feels like a generic creepy carnival in live action. Also they tried to recreate the toy thing in live action but Pierrot shot the toy in the original whereas in live action, he just stares at it enough for Spike to stab him (because John Cho is too old to have a fight scene that doesn't involve the enemies letting him hurt them).

I tried to watch it and it was pretty bad. I read a looooooooong time ago that Spike was a Jew (the creator thought that the last name Spiegel sounded cool), I dunno if yellowface is a thing but it should be. The guy playing Jet is pretty decent but I think that was because he was originally voiced in America by a black guy. All the pausing to eat noodles with chop sticks is just boring.

I'm going a bit nitpicky here, but Avatar TLA isn't an anime even if the animation was done in Japan. That'll be like calling Boondocks an anime because of the designs.

But yeah, both live-action remakes of Evangelion and Akira have been in development hell for so long. I won't be surprised that they're gonna turn into shit, especially with Netflix around. So, I won't be surprised if One Piece's live-action adaptation is gonna suck as well. This is like with many movies based on video games (Doom Annihilation being the worst offender).
If you cook stiry-fry in Italy is it spaghetti bolognese?
