I hope they don't try to "adapt" the movie or try to cram movie characters and plot points into the show. Can you imagine John Cho delivering anything from this scene from the fight choreography to the flirting? They wouldn't even get Electra right because of body positivity or whatever the fuck reason they gave for casting Faye as some chunky cunt.

Vincent gets namedropped by Ed in the season finale, so if S2 ever happens they'll be doing Knockin on Heaven's Door and most certainly ruining it as well.

So I had some kind of epiphany. The other day, I came home from work and I needed to relax my mind, so I couldn't help browsing onto Netflix and started to watch a single episode of the Cowboy Bebop live-action series, and that was it. I don't wanna watch more of it.

I'll say no to that. Maybe Ein, but even then they turn him into a dog cyborg with eye implants that Le Fou mindhacks in the 8th episode.

If a character doesnt get ruined by "improved" backstory, the bad acting, or bad jokes, or genderbending, or bad effects will get him. All subtlety is fucking gone, they keep spelling out what everyone is feeling and how tragic their backstories are. Its not enough to know Spike and Vicious were bros in the past, now we need a 50 minute flashback episode for that.

One of the things that actually surprised me was that they didnt completely ruin the Betamax scene in Speak Like a Child. Daniella Pineda is totally miscast as Faye, but she does an alright job in this scene. Child actress is bad and has terrible wig, but the dialogue is decent. What fucking sucks is that it mainly exists now to set up Season 2 plot points, with Faye's mother possibly making an appearence somehow.

they did everything in their power to make her as unappealing as possible didn't they?

Based on what I've seen of the show Daniella Pineda comes across as one of those actors who really benefits from good direction since she doesn't seem to be extraordinarily talented or shit (Excluding outside behavior cause shit people can be good actors while nice people can be bad actors).

Also I really hate how this show took away all the horror from Le Fou

Masks off, everybody!

Cowboy Bebop's Mason Alexander Park on Gren's new journey and righting the wrongs of the anime

Just going mask off with "we fixed the anime" after it came out and the negative response. Just like "localizers" who think stuffing memespeak and references to their exceptional political obsessions into translations of anime and Japanese videogames makes it better. "We took what these silly nips did and improved on it."
Ughhhhhhh. Can't wait to see how this untalented shit clown circus that is Netflix is gonna fix the last airbender & one piece. Gonna be awesome /ssssss

What's insane to me is the take by people that see the thing that "oh it was never going to work in live action, the dialogue is too unrealistic! They shouldn't have stayed so close to the anime!" These people somehow seem to miss that this remake fucking changed EVERYTHING about this, dialogue included. the source material was a lot more grounded despite being a somewhat wacky scifi future setting. This is another case of a shitty script wearing the skin of something superior and the fact people look at this and just assume or think the anime is even close to this thing is fucking wild. I've seen enough noire and action movies to know this series could feasibly be properly remade in live action. Thing is in today's current climate it's like a snowballs chance in hell in terms of coming out the other end not being as distorted by corporate bullshit alterations as this thing, even if the original intent wasn't this sort of shit. Here though? 100% out the gate. Nobody involved with this was actuall a fan or knew even the slightest shit about the original source and it fucking shows lmao.

I'm going a bit nitpicky here, but Avatar TLA isn't an anime even if the animation was done in Japan. That'll be like calling Boondocks an anime because of the designs.

But yeah, both live-action remakes of Evangelion and Akira have been in development hell for so long. I won't be surprised that they're gonna turn into shit, especially with Netflix around. So, I won't be surprised if One Piece's live-action adaptation is gonna suck as well. This is like with many movies based on video games (Doom Annihilation being the worst offender).

Your right, but Netflix will still destroy it like nothing.
Wasn't there a leak or anouncement or some shit a while back that they were completely altering the story to be about aang being like a bald kid in highschool that gets super bender powers or some shit?

Holy fucking shit they have filmed an entire season of this and yet they still dont know shit about the original show.

Whats the name of Spike's ship?
"The Bebop... No, wait... Thats Jet's ship... Uh... the Swordfish... the Sword? Yeah... the Swordfish"
Does Spike have a fake eye?
"I dont think he does..." "Yeah, I dont remember that..."

Just in time for youtube's dislikes to be gone for good! WOOOOOOW!

I rewatched one of the episodes and the Pierrot Le Fou episode is probably everything wrong with the show in one package:

- Unnecessary additional details about pre-established characters (Ein being actually a robot who was there for Pierrot's experiments since he is scared of dogs now)
- Antagonists being rewritten in worst ways with connections to the Syndicate (Pierrot being hired by Vicious to kill Spike, being able to speak fluently and knows how to hack machines while he only acts crazy in battle)
- The bond between the Bebop crew being in your face about them being family (Jet taking Spike and Faye bowling for "Family time" with him and Spike holding a small birthday party for Faye)
- Lots of shit humor (That Blackmail lady flirting with Jet while he asks her for information)
- Vicious being a cartoon character (His convoluted plan to kill the elders, which happens in this episode while he makes stupid faces while killing everyone and returning back to Julia)
- Additional whiny angst (Vicious whining to his dad for not treating him like a proper son, Spike doing the stupid "I must do stupid shit to distance myself to protect my friends" trope because he really is scared of the other members of the Bebop crew knowing he is Syndicate, and the last scene with Vicious + Julia being shot like VIcious is about to rape Julia.)
- Inconsistencies within their own continuity (Pierrot freaking out at the sight of dogs yet he has a machine that allows him to hack into robot dogs to control them, and seems perfectly sane while doing so)
- Faye and Jet both being dumbasses while Spike is the cool smart one
