I will never forget the legendary soundtrack Cowboy Bebop has. Really remarkable for these days.

Also you know it's never going to be good whenever a production company has it's works to make a movie based off a existing franchise of any kind. Video games, cartoons, shows.
and it just turns out like shit.

It is odd that we've had plenty of takes from Cho and Faye's actress but so haven't seen anything about this Mustafa guy's thoughts on playing Jet. I've even seen more of Gren's horribly miscast actor. And interestingly enough nobody's upset about this raceswap because he at least looks the part in spite of that
I think it's because Jet's race plays literally no part in his character, because Mustafa Shakir is a great and likable actor, and because this show is making so many huge mistakes that his casting, in comparison, doesn't even register as noteworthy.

Will they ruin Samurai Champloo too?
Not really since it doesn't have as strong of a brand as Cowboy Bebop

(Though to be fair, Champloo isn't that great but a live action remake will make it look like the best thing ever given the quality of Netflix Bebop)

Since they're already making comics based on the live-action, I hope they make an animated show.

Even the rich socialist like Hasan Piker likes Cowboy Bebop. Who would have thought?

Look, just because Cowboy Bebop is one of the most Western anime out there and has elements of the Western genre doesn't mean it's an actual fucking Western.

Why do they have to have a basic bitch poster?
I know posters for films and shows are creatively bankrupt these days but that one is the most generic thing I have ever seen. You could tell me that poster is for a show about cattle farmers fighting some Cartel and I'd believe you.
I personally think that Spike's "race" or "nationality" or what-have-you is ambiguous. Given the syndicate he was a part of, The Red Dragons, I could easily see him being Chinese. Because of the gun he uses (Jericho) and his 'fro, he could be Jewish. Because of his last name, he could be German. I could go on.

20 years ago, I distinctly remember that the Bebop fanbase on the internet widely speculated that Spike was Jewish. So yeah, I think he could be whatever.

I just think they fucked up the casting of Spike for this series because (a) he's old as fuck, and (b) he's not attractive ... And Spike is supposed to be a charming lady's man.

The cis-straight male scum are going through it over the casting of Faye. I get it; a cis-straight female scum like myself is unhappy with how unappealing Spike looks, too. lol.
I've always figured Spike was Asian/Eurasian, or otherwise some space mutt in a world where race/ethnicity doesn't really matter. Issue with Cho is, as a number of people ahave stated, is he is old as shit while Spike is supposed to be in his 20s or 30s.

Sure he isn't just wearing it to try and get clout like every grift he does?

Damn, can't say I envy these Japanese VAs returning to their butchered roles, if they care about Bebop half as much as the dub cast

See this tattoo on Steve Blum? That's the wave file of his final line on the series. Bang. It was so miraculous that all the dub roles came together at the right time and place for its English localization, truly a milestone in importing anime to the west. Yet once they get the chance to build something from the ground up the casting feels like an afterthought. What a shame

Kind of stings that Steve Blum was more known for his political opinions than his voice acting. He was a big talent for voiceovers in his heyday.
