Mod hosting platform BasedMods, which has been one of the biggest sources to find mods to remove wokeness from video games and edgy video game mods, has been "functionally" taken down.

After almost a three-month blackout, access to BasedMods is fully restored.

The owner of the modding site made the arduous task of migrating from Arweave to Autonomi for permanent storage, allowing visitors and users to access and download mods from the site. Previously, Arweave censored BasedMods by blacklisted the site's address used to store the mods and thus disabling access and downloading of them. The mods are nevertheless still stored in the system, allowing the owner of the site to ship its data to another storage platform named Autonomi.

For those who are unfamiliar, BasedMods hosts video games mods banned from more mainstream mod hosting sites such Nexus Mods and ModDB due to these sites defending "woke" content in the games that these mods aimed to rid of. BasedMods has been the main go-to for hosting and re-hosting "de-wokifying" and "edgy" mods such as "Grounded Commonwealth" for Fallout 4 and "No Alphabets" for Baldur's Gate 3, but the site also caught flack for its numerous downtimes and dilapidated site infrastructure. Some flack also came with the moderation as it pertains to shotacon and lolicon mods, that though most of these mods got removed due to violating the no-shotacon no-lolicon rule which pissed off the pedos, some mods managed to bypass the moderation.

This brings the number of SFW websites that hosts mods that removes woke content from video games back to 3. They are ModHQ (recommended), Playground.ru, and finally BasedMods.

Other sites that do host "de-woke" mods have either adopted censorship like GameBanana or embraced full-on degeneracy like allowing shotacon and lolicon mods such as AyakaMods, DEGMods, and LaXMods. AyakaMods has also backed Chibi Reviews in his fight against the Kiwi Farms.
