You'd think JDR would cope with the Trump admin by writing more horrible misanthropic pony fanfictions but nope, we only get boomer tier Bluesky posts and dooming in the FimFiction comments to laugh at.
I don't claim to know how it works, but yeah, TGLC somehow utterly drains its subjects of the creative impulse. Chris Chan isn't making trannychu comics, JDR isn't writing stories about GodCelestia stopping Drumpf and saving him from the encroaching hand of death.

Iirc I heard Jason somewhere
TV Tropes concurs, but it's unsourced and claimed to be a rumor. How strange:
While it was completely unintentional on the author's part, the Last Train from Oblivion side story reveals that the ponification potion only recognizes the biological sex of the human converts (meaning a transgender woman would get turned into a stallion and a transgender man into a mare). As co-author Kizuna Tallis pointed out, it could be read as a potshot at Chatoyance, herself a transgender woman who's sometimes expressed Otherkin tendencies. Making this funnier (or more disturbing) is that the transgender woman that this is demonstrated on was named Jason when she was male... which is widely believed to be Chatoyance's birth name. Author TB3 later clarified that it was all coincidental, but Kizuna, Doctor Fluffy, and Vox Adam all agreed it was hilarious nonetheless.

GodCelestia and the Conversion Bureau were just JDR's Dimensional Merge cope all along. *sigh*

I've long suspected that all the talk about AGI was essentially meant to serve this role. Convince aging intellectual-ish redditors that everything will be alright and they don't need to worry about the impending issue of their mortality as long as they hold the course and not let those mean old Drumpfies prevent them from building their AI-Mommy-God.

It's essentially a religion, in the most cynical, Marxist sense. "Let us stay in charge and someday, though we will not set an exact date, the laws of scarcity will abate and you will live in an immortal land of plenty. If we are removed from power, the forces that enable this will instead kill everyone, and there will be no eternal paradise for you."

JDR had, in fact, often taken interest in AGI fantasies. I bet Chris Chan would incorporate AGI into his religious canon if someone made him play Universal Paperclips.

Reminds me of an old Soviet joke that goes something like this:

A capitalist fairytale begins with "Once upon a time, there was..."

While a communist fairytale begins with "One day there will be..."

As the eye-searing page on Jenniverse.com tells us, Boppin' has had a new 2026 version released. Fresh features abound such as 640 x 480 full screen mode, autosave, and an easier final boss fight.

JDR's also been responding to comments on FIMFiction again, though not much is interesting. There's a sad post about missing Sandy, the endorsement of a youtuber called Kurzgesagt as "reliable and well researched" while adding "The only thing I hold against them is that sometimes they like to be overly positive in their editorializing and overall spin. To be fair, I am a depressive cynic at this point, though, so take that in mind. But their given facts, the ones they clearly state, are fine", and an over-explanation of Parasite Eve that could only have been written by the proto-troon:

I remember Parasite Eve quite well; Squaresoft, it was based off a Japanese novel of the same name. That novel also very unfortunately inspired George Lucas to introduce 'Midichlorians' to Star Wars, the bastard.

The basic premise was that back in the Mesoproterozoic Era - try saying that fast three times, it's part of the Precambrian - when an archaic cell devoured a protobacteria and couldn't digest it. They found a way to work together, and over time the protobacteria evolved to leech off the archaic cell and lost most of it's organelles, save for it's nuclear DNA. The archaic cell benefitted because the protobacteria dedicated itself to overproducing ATP, which is the 'fuel' that powers cells, and the result is it took on the job of 'powerplant'. That was the origin of mitochondria.

Mitochondria are my second favorite organelle right after the endoplasmic reticulum, but should be my first because; holy hell, mitochondria are amazing. They are part of every animal cell on earth now, yet are still independent - they reproduce on their own, using their own retained original DNA! They aren't just another organelle; they are still a partner, not a part! Wow, huh?

One notion for extending lifespan would be to append the mitochondrial DNA to our own nuclear DNA, so our cells could help repair mitochondria - many diseases stem from damaged mitochondria that cannot repair themselves effectively. As the mitochondria weaken, so do we, since our cells offloaded power production to them. Our guests. Our partners.

Parasite Eve riffs off the idea of mitochondria as 'power plants' within the cell - taking the idea of 'power' to supernatural levels. One day, the mitochondria 'wake up' and they are angry as fuck that our cells ate them, subsumed them, and enslaved them to our purpose, and they want dominion over the earth and revenge against us... well, the archaic cell part that is us. So... a lot of animals and humans start transforming into magic monsters with superpowers as the mitochondria take them over and mutate them into what life would have been if the mitochondria had not been eaten and had instead dominated the planet instead of us archaea. Big human-mitochondria war, lots of magic powers because 'power plant of the cell' is taken to extremes, and most animals and humans get Cronenburged into tentacled horror monsters with psychic abilities and energy beams. Fun for the entire family, great at parties, kids love it! Oh... and the name. Of course there is a Borg Queen, a central Big Bad of the mitochondrial side, and she calls herself 'Eve' because she intends to be the mother of a new world... of Cronenburg horrors. Hence the title.

ETA: The problem with trying to find JDR's birth name is that he was living in San Francisco when he transitioned in 1981, where even back then (since 1977, in fact, because California) it was possible to ask a judge to have your original birth certificate sealed upon name and gender change. (In 2023 this was expanded and I think became automatic, but my understanding is it was something that could be petitioned for decades earlier.) I don't know the specifics of how that worked for people born in other states (though Oregon started allowing for gender changes on birth certificates that very year), but no legal public record of pre-Jenny Jenny may exist, as much as it grosses me out to think about how much he must love that. I've tried to find obituaries for his parents and see if anything could be deduced that way, but no luck. His parents were Leonard Reitz and Margaret Reitz, maiden name Geddes, of Baker, Oregon.

That just makes the problem more interesting, and more fun to solve. He's 66 and transitioned in 1981, meaning he graduated High School in 1978, three years before the name change.

Plenty of sites let you look up high school yearbooks. If you know what state he graduated in, it can be narrowed down tremendously. If you know the school, an exact match is very nearly certain. I'm certain he's said it at some point, there's entire novels of complaining about his childhood. The Chris Chan parallels run deep.

Oh, JDR, damn; that's someone I haven't thought of in years. Of course he turned brony. And it's nice to see that Boppin' has finally been rereleased. I would assume his long-suffering husband left him years ago, so I'm not really sure who would have devoted the time and energy to polishing Boppin' up for 2026, but yeah nice to see. Congrats Jennychan.

Re: his real name, I'm guessing many people who click on this thread are aware of it, but JDR used to be a major exhibit on the early lolcow commentary website, Portal of Evil. The Wayback Machine still has the entry archived here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20060516232947/http://www.portalofevil.com/single.php?poeurlid=000016856

and if you click the Comments link, it goes to the JDR subforum with several thousand posts:
https://web.archive.org/web/20060627183550/http://friends.portalofevil.com/sfs.php?si=3&fi=000016856

One of the top threads archived JDR's reaction to his own father's death, in which Jenny thoroughly phonebooks the elder Mr Reitz:

RIP Leonard, you seemed like a cool guy, sorry your son was so ungrateful.

Not sure what his real name was, but it might be worth checking the archive, which was compiled back when Jenny was still the "most" "famous" troon on the internet. If anyone knew the story behind his name, it would have been the autists on PoE.

Also, might be worth writing a better, and updated, OP for the thread, especially if Jenny is active and entertaining again.

Again, it's been ages since I saw JDR anywhere, so I don't have a lot of links of archives readily available, but off the top of my head you could include:
Boppin, the OG troonslop game, which sold worse than Concord but somehow got picked up by Apogee Software, the sale of which helped JDR devote himself to a life of idleness, webmastering, and mooching off his husband.
Kokoro Wish, which would have been the OG tranny autist indie RPG, but never got made because JDR expected his husband to do all the work, and had a melty when that plan failed to produce results.
Unicorn Jelly and Pastel Defender Heliotrope, early bad tranny webcomics.
Impossible Things Before Breakfast; my personal favorite of his comics. It's directly autobiographically in a kind of magical realist, "everything has been filtered through the lens of a clinically insane narrator" way - like Sonichu, only written by a man who cannot use clinical retardation as a defense.
TransexualismDotOrg, his old egg cracking tranny propaganda site, where he tried to convert young people to troonery via a test he made up.
1781047968936.png
and just all the poly drama and entitled bullshit he's pulled year in, year out.

-edit- actually, while hunting for some of my favorite Jenny comics from yesterday, I realized that this one confirms he went to Sequoia Highschool in Redwood City, CA. (heartily recommend reading this one; it's about the time Jenny suddenly started crying in math class because he saw a caravan of fairies, which made everyone laugh at him)

Man, that takes me back. JDR was the first cow I ever kept track off, and on PoE. I remember when he came on to argue with the people there once.

(heartily recommend reading this one; it's about the time Jenny suddenly started crying in math class because he saw a caravan of fairies, which made everyone laugh at him)
But the one thing I wish I'd saved, was a bit of "fanart" someone on PoE did for that caravan thing. It was JDR chasing after the caravan looking like an unhinged maniac, while the fairies desperately tried to flee.

According to the autobiography on transsexual.org, Leonard was a USGS cartographer, which lead to the family frequently moving from city to city. However, Jenny's mom had a family house in Baker, Oregon that they intermittantly lived in. There's only one public high school in Baker from what I can tell (though maybe it was different half a century ago) and that's probably the strongest lead if someone wants to start looking up yearbooks. Sounds like dad might have been a minor figure in the chess world, if Jenny isn't exaggerating, which could be another path to tracking down more information on his parents.

My father Leonard, the mapmaker, had to travel, and thus so did I and my mother. First we lived in apartments, then eventually in a 40 foot long trailer. Throughout my life until high school, I would never call any town home for longer than six months. I had lived in seven different states by the age of seven, and this number would only increase, albeit only on the western half of the US. My father was an ambitious, selfish, brilliant, and utterly despicable man. Of genius level intelligence, he achieved some fame in chess circles as a professional instructor and coach, and was the subject of several newspaper articles because of a stunt he would pull. He was capable of playing twelve simultaneous games of chess, blindfolded, remembering the moves and layout of all the boards at the same time, and calling out moves. Even more amazing is that he generally won nine out of the twelve. While the caliber of my fathers intellect could not be questioned, his ethics and behavior certainly could.

It's also mentioned that pre-transition Jenny attended San Francisco State University.

I would assume his long-suffering husband left him years ago

Nope, the polycule of Stephen, Eldenath, Sandra, and JDR stayed together. Sandra died in December of last year, but as far as anyone knows they continue as a trio, with Stephen still the only gainfully employed one. (Though surely he's hitting retirement soon, as him and Jenny are close to the same age or maybe a year apart.)

JDR used to be a major exhibit on the early lolcow commentary website, Portal of Evil.

PoE is discussed extensively on pages 15 and 16 of this twenty page thread.

If anyone knew the story behind his name, it would have been the autists on PoE.

We never did, alas. Or rather, we never knew what his birth name was. The story behind the name "Jennifer Diane Reitz" is provided in his autobio. It involves a Donovan song!

Approaching the end of my first year of transition, I was now living full time as Jennifer Diane Reitz. I had chosen my name after much soul searching. At first I intended to name myself after my favorite Dungeons & Dragons character, the one I always played in high school and college. The character I had created had an original name, ‘Faelini’. I really liked the lyrical sound of my made-up name, and identified with my fantasy persona. My hormone doctor thought the name was a very bad choice, and suggested that I would be much happier in the long run with a more traditional name, one less likely to draw attention for being exotic. I grudgingly saw wisdom in the concept and set to trying to find a name I could live with.

At first I toyed with the name that my mother once had told me would have been my moniker had I been born a girl, well physically a girl. My mother was into numerology and had worked out some sort of mystical inherent destiny for my birth name, and also had done so for my ‘if female’ name. The name she had created long ago was ‘Dawn Christina Reitz’, which, after consideration, I really did not like. I filled notebooks with possible names until my hands cramped.

One afternoon I was listening to my radio, and heard Donavan’s “Jennifer Juniper” song. I loved the piece, and instantly identified with the Jennifer of the work who “Longs For What She Lacks”. I immediately fell in love with the name, and as a bonus, it fit my special criterion. I had early determined that I would accept no name that had a masculine origin. I wanted no part of the ‘Paul’ in ‘Pauline’, the ‘George’ in ‘Georgette’, or the ‘Sam’ in ‘Samantha’. I wanted a purely female name, one without any hint of being a derivative of a masculine name. I demanded a non-patriarchal name.

Jennifer is derived from Genevieve and Guinevere, and has no masculine origin. It is utterly a feminine name. It was perfect, and it somehow suited me, like a perfect hairstyle.

My middle name all but decided itself. ‘Diane’ was a perfect reference to ‘Diana’, and if indeed I was somehow saved by a moon goddess, then I could only do honor by taking a goddess name for myself.

I felt stuck with ‘Reitz’. I have always detested it’s guttural sound, and was further annoyed by the inability of most people to pronounce it correctly, as “Rights”, rather than “Reetz”. It is a clunky, fairly ugly little name. I thought of taking my mother’s maiden name, “Geddes” , but liked that no better. I simply could not think of any other name, and I foolishly hoped to not antagonize my parents by keeping my original name. For one thing, I idiotically expected to inherit.

I have mentally been pronouncing "Reitz" as "Rights" all this time and, now that I know JDR dislikes it, shall continue to do so.

Also, might be worth writing a better, and updated, OP for the thread, especially if Jenny is active and entertaining again.

He's really not, aside from some very bland anti-Trump posting on BlueSky and slightly more interesting but extremely intermittent posting on FiMFiction. There was some activity when Sandi was dying, but it was mostly just sad. I've been working on a new OP off and on for awhile now, but as this the cow now provides only a few drops of milk, it hasn't been a prority.

As far as PoE cows go, I really really wish someone would do a write-up on David Gonterman. While JDR was the prototype for internet troonery, Gonterman was the proto-CWC.

Did some digging, and the 1976 yearbook is archived elsewhere. Wouldn't we be looking for the '78 yearbook, though? I don't think he's in this one.

Classmates has an obnoxious paywall, but you can search a list of alums. "Reitz" returns a result for "Lenore (Howse) Reitz", from the class of '67, and nobody else.

If you're bored, Moulton is here. He was a short-lived feature thread after getting arrested in Florida for threatening ("trolling") a sheriff, but now he's confined to Spergatory because he's still the same person he always was. Also Pamperchu's thread is semi-popular, but he's an openly drug-addicted chomo now and his antics aren't so funny anymore.

Damn, RIP Sandra too. Stephen still paying for JDR is ridiculous but sadly believable; I'd say he's the OG simpcuck, but I don't know if it counts as "simp" or "cuck" when your "wife" is a six-foot-something schizophrenic man who thinks he has the ability to raise dogs from the dead.

I'm not sure what year he would have graduated, but given he was born in '59 and thus likely a 77 or 78 graduate, he should have been an underclassman in '76 and thus in that yearbook somewhere. Unless he was moving around and 76 was a year he WASN'T at Sequioa? I dunno.

78 is here and here is 75, just in case he was a sophmore or freshman.

You can actually find the Kokoro Wish website on Archive.org (kokorowish.com) and there's builds and even source code but it's extremely stubborn and I couldn't get it to run on Windows 7 back in the day.

It's things like this that make me wish some dedicated troll had taught Chris Chan javascript back in the day.

I realize his brain has its limits, but even 10 year old autists have made some pretty entertaining games, and any computer program written by the Sonichu guy would automatically get a cult following.

Can't find either, unfortunately. Being a zoomer, I don't know a lot about how yearbooks work/used to work. They just record the graduating class, right?

Do we know where he went before high school? There are archived junior high yearbooks available. Likewise, some colleges used to publish yearbooks. I'm sure someone here knows which college he went to.

Usually American yearbooks have the entire school; there will be a main section that has photos and details on the graduating senior class, and then another, less detailed, section that will have the lower years. Faculty sections are common features, too, as well as sports teams and clubs, which would include underclass students. So for example, if you know Tranny XYX is a science autist, you can check and see if there's a Science Club page. Tranny McSquarejaw played football? Check there. etc.

I went through the 76 yearbook and couldn't find him. There are no Reitz's that I can see, although I'm not 100% sure if the yearbook has the whole school since there aren't that many students, and even in the (what I assume is?) underclass section, everyone looks pretty old. At least to me. (could also be that "kids in history always look old" thing) Worse still, just about everybody here looks like he could grow up to be a troon. Including the women.
1781126527828.png
Hilariously, someone drew lipstick on this Ian guy. He's a 76 senior, so I doubt he's got any connection to JDR, but it's still funny.
1781127906904.png
I also can't spot any faculty members who look like the evil boring math teacher from Jenny's comic, but I don't trust him to accurately remember, let alone draw, any event from his highschool. I suppose it's possible he IS in there, just under a different name, or that 76 happened to be a year he lived in a different town and went to a different school, so I'd encourage other people to double and triple check any and all yearbooks around that time, +/- a few years.

This appears to be his dad's Ancestry entry, per the self-phonebooking Jenny did above. Not a lot of info, sadly. His grandparents were Edith and Theodore, and he may (according to Brave AI scraping the census records) have a pair of uncles named Milton and Ernest.
1781127083618.png

As for college, I'm not sure where he went. Another amusing fact: JDR appears to have written his own Wikipedia entry. In it, he mentions a couple things; going to school to "study biochemistry" (no mention of finishing a degree; possibly cut short by the 41% attempt?), and his poor husband Stephen being a friend from highschool. So maybe if you can find the school and graduating year for Stephen Lepisto (not in the 76 yearbook either, afaik), you can find Jenny.
1781129041424.png
Not surprised he wrote his own Wikipedia entry, of course; Jenny was an early internet sperg, and I expect he's written a ton of Wikipedia entries on stuff he made that nobody else cares about, as that was the style at the time. What I AM surprised about is that his personal Wikipedia entry is still up, but it's likely a combination of troonshielding and the fact that literally nobody except, I guess, us autists here in the thread, remember he exists.

Okay, that was a useful bit of information. Using his age, state, and first initial, we narrow it down pretty heavily. Five results from two separate schools, all the same guy. One of those should be our yearbook.

https://www.ancestry.com/search/col...rth=1959&birth_x=1-0-0&event_x=_1-0&name_x=_1

Ancestry.com is truly obnoxious about the paywall, so I'll have to repeatedly probe their database with an exhaustive search to figure out which school he went to...

Okay, Lake County has all five. The school name is paywalled, but they hash it to the letter X formatted the same as the name. I search under Reitz, use ctrl+F to hunt school names with the same hash, and...

https://www.ancestry.com/search/col...959&birth_x=1-0-0&event_x=2-0-0_1-0&name_x=_1

Bingo. Ya boy is, as best I can tell, named Terry. Same school as S. Lepisto. The hairstyle even matches the comics. There are a few weird caveats that I've chalked up to data noise, so please do check my work and confirm that my conclusion is reasonable.

Pretty wild how the venn diagram of people who'd get upset about this and people who got upset about Rotherham is two nonintersecting circles.

The influx of male hormone in my bloodstream ravaged my body and my sanity. Suddenly my life was a living hell, not only from the exterior, but now from within as well. It was all I could do simply to survive one day to the next. Male hormones not only caused endless erections and barely restrained sexual frustration that both humiliated and dominated my consciousness, but also brought terrible changes to my skin in the curse of acne.

My body could not abide testosterone. It robbed me of thought, altered my personality, bent me in twisted ways, and rode me like a demonic spirit. It crushed me in unending depression and sweaty, frustrated anguish. It also stole from me the remaining delicate beauty of my childhood, buried underneath a virtual shell of ropy pus-filled blisters. My acne problem was horrendous, with inch wide pustules covering the entirety of my face and back in overlapping repulsion. I began to walk constantly with my face down, hunched over, so none could see my countenance. It was as much because of becoming increasingly masculine in appearance, or so I imagined, as it was for the solid mass of pus-filled sacks that graced my face.

Could be a bad scan or something, but long-haired Terry looks pretty pizza-faced to me.

An ancient mystery has been solved. Well done!

lol, yeah, that certainly looks like the kind of kid who'd be a super-duper science genius, honest, but also cry in the middle of math class because he saw space fairies. Is there any info on the S Lepisto from that school? Stephen is a lot more public, he's even got githubs and I think a linkdin under his real name, so it should be easier to confirm 100% that we've found the right Lepisto, and thus that ratface Terry is our beautiful feminine creatrix, Jennychan.

So....in other words he was a typical teenaged boy. Terry was an utter pussy. This is how EVERY teenage boy gets when testosterone production kicks into overdrive and puberty hits, turning you from a boy into a man. You get constant woodies out of nowhere, sex dominates your thinking, you can barely talk to girls without imagining plowing them, you have to jack off or go insane. That's what the years from 12-16 (on average) are like for all men!

And all teenagers are also hit from a lesser to greater degree by acne at the same time, male and female. A good friend growing up had it about as bad as Terry here describes it and it was pretty rough for him, but severe cases can be treated so as to avoid scarring, and IT STOPS after adulthood. And this whiny bitch thinks he's specially 'poisoned' by testosterone!

It's a good thing he took himself out of the gene pool.

I'm autistically determined never to get the subscription, but the pictures seem to match up, and the years associated with the yearbooks coincide. The preview images appear to be the pages the headshot images came from, and they also match in style and formatting, so they were classmates. The Terry Reitz we see has two yearbook photos a year apart from the same school, one distinctly male and one with long, female-style hair.

I don't rule out that I've overlooked something, but I think the probability of a match is high.

Bleeding heart that I am, I'm not entirely sure that things couldn't have gone differently for him. Imagine a society that doesn't tolerate troonery, where he'd never have ended up in a support group with a bunch of crossdressers, or spent his life tantrumming that some guy didn't make his video game for him. Where his dad trying to get him ready for life would've had the support of the broader community.

Then again, I feel the same about Chris Chan, so take it with a grain of salt. Can see a Chris that got the proper amount of tough love growing up to be a decent long-haul trucker. He'd do a better job than the jeets do, at any rate.

Leonard was GS-14? Not bad for someone not actively ladder-climbing. If he was seconded out to a glowie role it probably wasn't CIA, it would be the then-DMA or NPIC, predecessors to today's NGIA/NGA/whatever they call it this week.
