Comicsgate Hangers-On and Drama Whores - A thread about some guy who's mad about Star Wars and the neckbeards obsessively stalking him

Yo @FROG - watched your video this morning. Great distraction from Impeachment drama.

I know fan feedback means very little, but your detractors are playing you.

More specifically: the shittalk is their way of saying they can't compete with your success and don't see enough upside for being on your team. They are the stars of their own life stories and believe they deserve a piece. The cheap shots will continue until something changes.

This stuff hurts but celebrities have no friends so it's your fault for being a handsome devil. Mike is now your Jackie Martling and Edwin is a religious version of Artie Lange. They don't go away because most people only know them as part of your orbit. The only warmth they get is the rays of your sun.

Edwin talks about you getting people work because he (and Mike) secretly desire being paid for talking about Comicsgate. He talks about publishing houses because he sees a hierarchical business structure as the best means of making that happen. He is prodding you / YBZ to take some next step, even if it doesn't benefit him.

You had a really good year on YouTube with these guys as part of your show. That doesn't mean you have to do anything, and they've certainly taken actions that cost them your trust.

But maybe their angst presents an opportunity.
The shit talk is just that. Making fun of Ethan, Slott, whoever. I just want my frog comic. I think its funny how many fans feel they need to "defend" Ethan. He's perfectly capable of defending himself.
A few years ago some cuck got butthurt because they didn't like Van Scivers facebook page. There will always be haters you might as well be funny about it and beat them to the punchline.

More info for Ethan Van Sciver/ Shari's/ Andrea future megathread.

No wonder 2VS never leaves his basement everybody and their brother is gunning for that faggot and hes running like a nerd who's about to get his ass beat after class.

Well, can't blame someone for having a heart.

TBH I care less about Ethan's relationships and more about seeing these cows properly monetized. Ethan lets Mike and Edwin get to him when they should be processed into quality entertainment.

This level of sentimentality doesn't sit well with me, where he ruminates and talks about regrets. There's ways to put them to work.

I only mention his wife because according to the threads she was making promises on Ethan's behalf for money on work he was incapable of fulfilling. I'm not blaming him, it's part of a pattern that keeps repeating around the guy.

As for Edwin Boyette. Stfu faggot. I warned you personally. Remember our phone call? Dumb mother fucker.
Many warners are sent but few if any are ever heeded.
To process their spergery into entertainment is easy, Mormonism is true Christianity.

I find it weird as the Mormon church is becoming increasingly Pro-Homo so is Ethan

Creativity takes time. People talk about commissions like it's a trip to McDonalds. I'd rather wait and get a piece that reflects someone's best work than something dashed off with a Sharpie at a convention booth.

It's not reasonable to assume he's just going to get something done real quick. I've seen a couple of his commission pieces, they are intricate and detailed with a good sense of proportion. I remember thinking the linework is comparable to Geoff Darrow, the lines all meant something. Not sure how someone sees that and thinks it just happens...

As for Edwin, he's bitching on a different level. His complaints have nothing to do with Ethan per se, he's complaining about Ethan as a business entity. He's saying there's this independent comic market, Ethan and YBZ's businesses have been wildly successful, and they have nothing left to prove. Edwin's saying Comicsgate as a movement has gone as far as it can, fighting the SJWs is futile and so getting out of the way so other can succeed is the right thing to do. Stop fighting and accept reality.

It's a clever and nuanced jab. He's taking aim at the raison d'être for Comicsgate and Ethan's popularity at the same time, putting himself apart from the movement to ask how much the fight is just an expression of Ethan's ego. It's the kind of question a Renfamous could never ask, only someone from within Comicsgate. Edwin knows a brand must maintain its authenticity stay relevant and portraying Comicsgate as a cause that's been co-opted by professionals sounds a lot like what SJWs have been doing in the mainstream. In essence, he's saying Comicsgate has become what it hates and EVS needs to go away so a spiritual revival or something can occur.

And there's the trap. EVS can respond saying, "hey, I'm fighting this fight against the SJWs for the benefit of everyone," but that leaves him open to the question: where are the results. That's what Boyette was doing when he talked about Dan Slott, he's saying there's a difference between what EVS sees and what happens around him. Other than YBZ, no one else's books are enjoying the same level of commercial success. Edwin's saying EVS published a successful book but he's failed to change the system, his victories are hollow because they have not won the war.

We're all human and it hurts to hear things like that from a person you admire. However, Edwin's comments don't stand up to perspective. The argument is loser talk, he's framing Comicsgate in terms of a final end-state it has yet to reach. This is the logic of a disappointed employee in a dead end job, nit picking his employer for not paying him a fat wad every month. He's complaining about Warcampaign the same way a receptionist complains about phone calls, it's a nuisance that comes with the territory. The fact he has time to think through all these issues says everything you need to know, he's looking for something more and lashing out at the closest target. His complaints have nothing to do with Ethan and everything to do with what does he get out of it.

There is a right and proper response to that kind of message. One way to address the problem is as a complaint. Feed or weed, air out differences in response videos or wait for it to go away. But that seems weak, at some level the promise of Comicsgate is that creators are rewarded. It sends a message when Edwin (or any other creator) can't say that's happening. A proper response is something different, that unites, that re-inspires and delivers a message of prosperity and unity. Not sure what that looks like, but EVS is a creative guy and I'm sure he will learn from his experiences with Edwin and Mike and do better.

We'll see. I agree Edwin sounds like a total faggot but I recognize creators need more upside to be part of Comicsgate as a movement. Answering that concern will take time, Edwin just doesn't have the fortitude to wait. Sad.

Creativity absolutely takes time, I think 90% of the people posting in those old forums are just whiny faggots that expected "EVS quality" at a low price and quick turnaround like he is a fucking ink factory and not a human being.

The only one with a point is that cuck and his shit reads like he was trying to force EVS to be less political.
Quality is worth the wait, since none of those faggots ever posted their commissions we'll have to assume Ethan delivered an awesome product.

To all the faggots crying about paper quality, ffs it's the same fucking paper they all use comics are flimsy books, it's a god damned frog comic not a Dead Sea scroll who honestly gives a fuck if the dark ink causes a slight ripple?

@LateNightComics Question: Who is the most exceptional right now Ethan, WC, or Ethans many enemies (RT, Cherries, Edwin, etc)
Ethan has made me laugh recently and Edwin losing his shit over memes makes him the most retarded. I posted a picture of Edwin making out with Vox, but apparently now he's lost his sense of humor which will only make them attack him more.

I dont understand cherries. That shit started after I left CG, It seems highly retarded. Nothing they do makes me laugh.

So Ethan wins this round his enemies are all milking themselves and getting milk all over the place.
Ethan is rolling around in stacks of chromium covers, 100 dollar bills and Bolivia's finest.

My biggest complaint to WC was their memes were Stale trash [and giving their enemies gasoline].....and they started to improve their memes

I appreciate this analysis, Ivan.

1. Feed or Weed is kind of my strategy going forward. I'm quick to pluck out people who don't align with where I'm going, because there's really nothing in it for ComicsGate to endlessly try to convince people we're right. This is business, not religion, but still, people who have lost "faith" can go, and go quickly. Those who are enthusiastic will get my support, and I'll encourage them to do the same for others.

2. Response videos have to be rare. I feel like the one I did on Edwin Boyette was called for. But they aren't any fun, and so the fewer times I personally give oxygen to clowns, the better.

3. More new books, more new personalities...the truth about Crowdfunding is that people are drawn more to the personalities who are creating these comics than they are to the comics themselves. I think a vast majority backed CYBERFROG because they liked my show. It's up to me to get them to care about the Frog book they bought. And all around, you see talented creators with either no platform, or dim or irritating personalities failing. Even a book like LONGHARBOR, which under my guidance I believe would have made it well into 6 figures, landed at less than $65K. He didn't have the platform he needed to get the word out. Its the most beautiful comic I've seen in ages. And then there's Preston Poulter, who can't raise $1000 without giving it to himself because he's a total asshole.

Meanwhile, Kyle Ritter, who is ComicsGate, part of the club, part of CYBERFROG, has produced a brilliant looking project in STARBLADES, and who is beloved by all, easily surpassed $125K. He's a first-timer.

Most other new creators under ComicsGate, on my channel, rise to between $25-50K. We're talking about new creators, with their own IPs. These are relatively huge successes. They have no platforms, no real social media presence, but I can introduce them to my audience and help get the word out for them. Give them a boost.

Back to personalities, I think it's fair to say that the first JAWBREAKERS campaign was also propelled largely by the personality of Ya Boi Zack. It didn't NEED to be a great book (even though it was). People bought into it because they wanted Zack to succeed. They came back when they enjoyed the comic he'd sent them.

Look at TUG and his CASE OF THE LITTLEST UMBRELLA. He's cultivated a devoted audience with his YouTube persona, and people wanted to support his publishing effort to the tune of over $100K.

Cecil will enjoy similar results. Eventually, so will Wenger. These guys are huge fun on YouTube. Big support is almost guaranteed.

Jon Malin is fun on YouTube, and he also easily digs close to $200k now. He's also an incredible artist, so it's entirely justified.

I guess what I'm saying is that "unity" doesn't really matter. I don't think it's at the heart of individual success, and I don't think people really care overall. People will back the projects they want to read, or back the projects of the personalities they enjoy. My own campaigns do really well. If you're on my channel, you will definitely enjoy the rising tide to a certain degree. If you aren't, you'll need to either shine really bright on your own, or get on Nick Rekeita's show.

When it comes to #ComicsGate, that's my belief system. I'll never stop talking about what happened to the comic book industry, not because I want to effect change, but because I want to condemn it every chance I get, and demonstrate that there's another way to do comics. Edwin's opinions are irrelevant. This isn't his industry, and he doesn't derive a livelihood from it.

So I'm not too interested.

God damnit you're fucking stupid. Go fuck a pie and eat Ashley Lewis's asshole, retard.

Creativity takes time.

"Creativity" is worthless. "Creativity" has never produced a single worthwhile thing in human history. What you mean is work product, and, yes, work products do take time. A professional craftsman will know how long a particular work product takes to produce. If the craftsman overpromises, then he is unprofessional. If the craftsman underdelivers, then he is lazy. And if the craftsman manages both, then he is an idiot.

Some times challenges (not enough money, not enough time) lead to the best art

Too much money and time, plus being a fat lazy cuck asshole turns you into EVS or @UndeliveredCrowdfundMaste. Both retards, along with all the CG orbiters, especially Jon Malin, a white nationalist neo nazi that got fired from Marvel for sucking Ethan's dick.
Shame shame I say.

Look at "The Snyder Cut" of any DCEU joint by Zach. The problem isnt that he needed more time...the problem is his stories were very self indulgent and unfocused

"A professional craftsman will know how long a particular work product takes to produce."

Bullshit.

In project management, there's an old saying: you can have it on time, on budget, or high quality. But you can't have all 3. Mainstream comics offer predictable schedules at a low price and a low quality. No one turns to indie comics looking for better deadlines, they come looking for better quality.

In software development, 70% of projects fail because of unrealistic deadlines. There's been a ton of research into the psychology behind this, it's usually described as "overconfidence." This trait affects every sector and every industry, no one is immune. People who know what they are doing tend to underestimate the potential for problems to throw them off schedule. They think, "because I understand a problem, I can stop it from affecting my work." That's just not true, it's one of those illusions suffered by a wide range of people.

Holding @FROG up to a higher standard than most other professionals is absurd. He's not putting siding on a house, or making a burger, or doing something with a very predictable start and end point. He's putting together a creative vision and expressing it with ink and paper while writing a story and figuring out everything involved in actually producing copies of the work.

Give him a break.
