Looks like the end of the season will be pretty grim (just watched ep7 but didn't have time for 8)

The bird girl irritated me, tho I can understand her autism energy. Anyway, can't cow TB be treated? What's the problem here?

From what I recall of the earlier seasons, you can't just isolate and treat the sick ones. The whole farm goes into lockdown, and you can't sell shit from the infected animals. I may be misremembering things a bit, but that's what comes to mind from the lady who sells dairy products to the shop, and the badger episode.

Last two episodes were good. Because they were actually doing farm stuff.
Oh well, that's it done and over!

Predditors and AI say that there is a vaccine against cow TB but you're not supposed to use it because it defeats the lump detection they use. You can't do blood tests because they take too much time. Treating an already infected cow is too lengthy and too costly taking up to a year - at least that part is fair

But as for the testing it looks like you're damned if you, damned if you don't

Well that was a devastating end to the series. Euthanizing a Calf was bad enough, then the fuck you by the Agri department and the cancer goes back. At least he is still alive so hopefully it's been dealt it for now. He didn't look that great post treatment.... Ending song was a classic British move.
I would totally spend forever with that bird girl.
After the bullshit of "you can't cut the field because 20 eggs may be there" she's too annoying to like. And she probably smells horrid.

It's classic bureaucracy insanity, especially with the ending showing that even the cow being cleared post butchery the farm is still closed for 60 days just as a fuck you. Britain having the most insane bTB in the world so it can import beef from countries with less insane policies, and using methods that are probably centuries old.

Just finished the last ep, and my dude, after seeing the girl make a bird out of every core member of the cast? HARD PASS, WOULD NOT HIT THAT WITH A CROWBAR
Britain is insane
I think that's all that needs to be said

I really hope 2025/2026 treats him better. It kinda sucks that we get to wait a whole damn year to see what was happening

Did they send Gerald to a speech therapist? I can actually understand what he's saying now.

Also it's easy to think the dutch tater-farmer has it all figured out, but he only has one thing to worry about. Jermy is fucking himself over with his mushrooms, pigs, sheep, cows, goats, in addition to different crops.

Happy to see his eurogay robotics seem to work.

Bird-bird is on the spectrum isn't she?

Also, it helps that he almost certainly made all of his money doing consulting and renting/selling the high-tech farming equipment. I'd be willing to be[t] that the potato farming is the side business for him now.

Pardon the double post but I've watched Season 5 now and wanted to share my thoughts.

Fuck gypsies and their shitty chariots.

The robot tractor and planter were pretty cool, along with the soil scans and drones. Better to employ clankers than foreigners, but don't be fooled into thinking there wasn't some kind of sponsorship deal. (same with the CFMoto UTV)

Drought really fucked em over, hopefully next season plays out better and lets them really show off the capabilities of new farming technology.

The Pub suffering from success is very on brand for Clarkson.

I find it hard to believe Caleb isnt playing up some of his rural ignorance for the cameras.

F for the Pigs, but least Richard Ham survived and made a new friend.

F for the guinea fowl, but I can't say I didn't see that coming.

Extreme Autism Bird Girl was adorable and should be treasured.

A triumphant return for the OG Lambo tractor, long may it reign, clutch issue aside.

The Jeremy Cancer arc would have been a lot more dramatic if I didn't go in knowing he's going to be fine, see previous post. As such it was overshadowed by absolute tragedy of the sick cow arc. Speaking of which.

Anyway, can't cow TB be treated? What's the problem here?
No. There is no effective treatment for cow TB. I'm not sure if that means its simply impossible or of its merely cost ineffective but the industry standard is to cull infected animals.

What surprises me is that the test seems so arbitrary. Surely they could do a blood test to confirm rather than simply measuring lumps, and then for the cow to be culled for inconclusive results is ridiculous.

At least it would seem Endgame is okay.
