Having not seen the episode (and having neither the time nor the interest to watch it), could anyone tell me how many points were hit on the Dick Wolf Doesn't Understand the Internet List?

[] "We need a lead on this case." "Hey, check out this website that will conveniently hold all the answers we need."
[] Said website looks like it was whipped up in half an hour by some intern in Photoshop.
[] Said website also baldly declares their EVULZ (in large bold font, that a detective of course reads out loud).
[] A scene at the website's office (conveniently in NYC). The representative the detectives speak to is either a deceptively clean-cut and meek geek, or a slovenly boor.
[] Richard Belzer makes snarky comments about nerds having no lives.
[] General techno-babble.

I haven't even seen it, but I've seen pretty much all those on the "this episode was so retarded" posts, including the website.

Here's one of the web things. And it's more like 10 seconds in MS Paint.

Jesus, her responses in this.

"DID YOU TAKE THIS PICTURE?"

"GET OUT."

as already someone photoshopped brianna face with this?

but heck, he has to check twitter every fucking single minute of his life? i wonder if he has a column with the #GamerGate tag just to see if people is talking about him

I don't really watch SVU, what's this about?

The new counterpart to the Oprah Over 9000 and They Call Themselves Anonymous. A ridiculously mis-informed episode done by someone who does not understand the internet or video games and has elected to do a show centering on both. It is unequivocally one of the most unintentionally funny things I've watched on television in almost 10 years and it spawned instant memes, including "DOES YOUR SON PLAY VIDEO GAMES," and the REDCHAN.IT website (which Hotwheels bought and now redirects to 8chan from). and succeeded at making the Antis fucking apoplectic because it portrayed their side as being crazies who believe this is actually what Gamergate is. The bulk of GGers, familiar with being media scapegoats since the advent of video games, simply laughed and pointed at it, responding with outright mockery.

If you ever have the chance, watch the episode online. It's fucking hysterical. We are talking The Room levels of unintentional funny.

We hit 'em all, Bemis.

Every single one of these is done in this episode. Almost all of them are done in a few scenes regarding REDCHAN.IT, which of course is where these HACKERS ON STEROIDS come from. Humorously, someone on the crew knew enough to help set this name up and take a potshot at Something Awful in the process (take a look at the Gamers' flag - it's essentially the SA grenade with a texture), so thank you, nameless uncredited intern. You made the episode even funnier than it otherwise would be.

And yes - Brianna Wu thinks it's about her:

To justify their victim complex and/or laugh at male rape.

So, my friend has informed me he is not going to be able to provide intel about what happens at the Wu-spergathon today - because he intends to leave RavenCon well before that. From what it sounds like in what he tells me, the con itself is kind of sparsely attended (Well below expectations) and is one of the most unpleasant things he's ever been to.

Given Wu's gone-viral temper tantrum and proclaiming it as "her" convention, she might possibly have killed RavenCon by simply driving off the general public.

actually bri triggering should be reserved for things only on the level of being raped and getting reminded of it and worse.

If its less you'Re a puss its totally unreasonable to expect people to dodge every frowny face in existence.

This mirrors many things we've been hearing out of RavenCon. Wu and her ilk co-opting it has turned it into a complete fail-fest.

Is this being covered in depth in another thread? I'm only aware of her one chimp out and poor attendance numbers.

When I get something meatier, it's yours, Autobot Commander.

In the meantime, have this. For a long while, Wu's been harassed by a random that seems to be just one more troll account....

This seem strange. Most believe it to be a false-flagging troll account. And it likely is.

But here's the kicker: Guess who was referencing it?

Frank Wu creeps me the fuck out.

Dunno if is that . Somebody post the Ralph video in a neogaf splinter forum (banned users and regular users/mods talking behind everyone back). The reaction was that "Ralph seems so much a fat fedora MRA stalker" (well, kind of, being sincere) than actually "Crazy Wu". Unless you know how crazy and SocialNetwork addict Wu is, she is not scary by her being casual. Feels more like Wu just go to every convention that paids her than she scaring anybody.
