It's apparently one of those free to play mobile games where you can pay for packs that give you a chance to unlock characters. Some of these packs cost 40 bucks. Either Wu has been grinding mercilessly or she bought a shitload of packs. It doesn't matter which because doing either one when you have a game you're supposed to be porting is just.. bad.

Now that frank has a better job all pressure is off her to do anything ever again, it's fucking hilarious.
Like I used to hate wu but I've learned to love her, now knowing she's sitting on a couch somewhere being heated by her abused mac pro while playing DOTA and popping ambien.

Like someone has to do it. Good for her.

Like, there is no reason to bring up sexuality in a horror film
Sure there is. Just ask Jason or Freddy. :sighduck:

Steam needs to implement some kind of rules for devs prolonging ports like this. It's beyond ridiculous that anyone can keep going without being properly called out by people who spent money... And are intimidated. Of what, I have no idea... In the outside Wu has no "power". She's just a joke.

The issue isn't with Steam and or Kickstater, their ToS clearly says that you cannot hold the person responsible for a failed or delayed product. Your basically just donating the money to whoever heads the project in the hope their not a criminal. Your options are null when it comes to holding someone responsible for lying.

On the plus side, the IRS is now setting up rules for Patreon and Kickstarter incomes, they no longer fall under the "gift" category for claiming taxes but as income and will have to be reported to them.

I personally doubt they're intimidated...they don't care, like the people who kickstarted Heartmob. They did the donation essentially as an act of charity to help fund a "feminist" piece of art. The actual quality (or existence) of the final product is probably no interest of them, they got what they wanted out of it, which was to do some financial asspatting.

Their ToS can say a whole lot of things, but if you could commit outright fraud by just putting a disclaimer on something, every con artist would do it.

The difficulty is really proving that Wu intended it as a fraud from the outset, which is pretty unlikely unless Wu actually flat-out admits it. Otherwise, Wu could just be a really shitty planner with terrible execution.

After all, there actually is a game, sort of. I don't think it's an out-and-out fraud anyway.

Lol twitter and youtube barely make money from this
That comment isn't about harassment, it's her calling out to her network for new mod connections. Seemed like her direct Twitter contact was fired in the management change. I feel she's shaming YouTube hoping someone who works there is in her listen and believe network so she can get videos about her pulled.

I seem to remember her doing the same thing before Twitter's safe space manager "doubled down on harassment" which just meant giving Harper and Wu personal blocktors.

OH! So this is more faux SJW bullshit...
Surely not, surely this is just a defence because she's panicking that Vee filed a counter claim and was probably in the right. This is a line up for "I was being harassed and your harassment tools are insufficient so I DMCA'd"

"I just now learned how to report people on Youtube!"

"It wasn't me who filed the DMCA it was Natalie"

I don't follow KS' rigmarole, but I mean games that are finished on other systems but in the process of being ported to Steam. Some are completed, but they'll slip in as an Early Access or whatever and then "release" with no changes, or minimal changes that don't reflect why they were listed under Early Access. Early Access is at your own risk, everyone knows that. At least they finally implemented the two hour refund policy after scams like Earth Year 2066.

It still comes back to Kickstarter IMHO. It's where Johnny wrangled up the 13K he was supposed to use to make the PC port of his abortion of a game.

I f he choose to use that money for new toys rather then for making the game you'd think KS would want to take some steps to protect their reputation. Right now it seems you can promise anything, not deliver shit and simply walk away with the money.

Minus KS's cut of course...

It breaks my heart thinking of all the good little girls and boys who will be in tears on Christmas morning because St. Gaben did not bring Revolution 60 to them.

Every night my waifu would play R60, while I brought her hot chocolate and sweets and gave her back massages. Then one day her Ipad broke down and thus we had to wait for the PC version to come out... we waited and waited... one evening, when I came to my waifu's room to bring her a tray of petit fours with pink icing, she had hung herself because she couldn't bear to wait for the PC version any longer.

"The creator is solely responsible for fulfilling the promises made in their project. If they’re unable to satisfy the terms of this agreement, they may be subject to legal action by backers."

There's some stuff before this outlining what project creators must do in order to say they've fulfilled their obligations to the best of their ability if they are unable to complete the project, but that's the most relevant part. They leave it up to the backers to do actually anything and just provide the platform. Wu's actually broken these conditions, but it's the backers that have to do something about it and it seems like they just don't care. The Rev60 facebook and subreddits are dead, and only one person has commented on the Kickstarter page recently, with no reply yet.

While writing this I actually bothered to check the reward tiers for the first time in a while, and holy shit. The estimated date was August 2014, with the mac release a month later. As perks they offer a 'digital strategy guide' for the combat, and 20 people are owed t-shirts. Wu's also promised special ingame items to help people "get the ending they want", some kind of weapons pack and there's also supposed to be a couple of posters. Wu hasn't mentioned any of this in any recent updates and probably doesn't even remember they're supposed to exist. If Wu's the main programmer now she might not even be capable of delivering the in-game stuff, since from what we've heard she barely coded anything.
