Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

I don't like DnD like games or top down view. It sucks because it seems great, but maybe it just isn't my cup of tea
Honestly if you’re not already into DnD/isometric RPGs it’s just going to flat out be hard to get into it for you, best suggestion for someone not into these kinds of games is to just treat it like a choose your own adventure movie and get your enjoyment out of it that way.

I'd really like to get into this, but just can't. Pirated it to try it out, but haven't been able to play much. I don't like DnD like games or top down view. It sucks because it seems great, but maybe it just isn't my cup of tea. Open for any recommendations on how to get into it. It's just a lot to take in at once, never played BG 1/2 or any similar games. It's a lot to learn to be able to play
It's okay to not like something. Don't force yourself. And BG1/2 won't help much since they use a different ruleset.

I downloaded one of the camera mods, which helped a bit with the limitations of the camera. Native Camera Mod I think it was.
Still sucks, but sucked less.

play something easier like star wars KOTOR or dragon age origin.

Going through that phase where I keep starting over with different classes and am really enjoying half orc barbarian. I hate the stupid "wildheart" piercings, though. Found the perfect hat for him, at least.

ah i see you too are an ork of kultur.png

You might prefer Larian's prior game, actually, Divinity: Original Sin 2. Writing wise, it's Larian, so you're getting almost the same thing. Mechanics, wholly their own, and much more intuitive compared to D&D. (Most notably, no stupid d20 determining if you can or cannot succeed. Either you have the appropriate skill, or you don't.)

There is still percentage to hit , which its almost always unless you equip a higher level item.

Yeah iirc the intention of % to-hit penalty in this case is to incentivize you to only use items at your level. If you only ever wear on-level items, the hit chance is 100% guaranteed.

Just play on Story mode. The combat system is pretty much the most unbearable aspect of it all.

Most RPGs don’t give you the amount of freedom you have in the game. That’s what most people are referring to in terms of the “groundbreaking amazing” thing. You essentially can do the things you think you should be able to in any situation.
Really because destroying half the landscape to bury my enemies under tons of rubble isn't something I've been able to do

Maybe you’re not looking hard enough for the rubble then.

In other news, I just struggled my ass off against the lava forge boss winning by the skin of my teeth only to get the achievement for not using the thing that would have probably made the fight way easier. So that was weirdly fun lol.

So I just got the “Steal a Gith Egg” quest(very hilarious to have the old lady shit-talk the Gith with Lae’zel right next to me) but when I talked to her to trade, apparently I was getting dialogue prompts for having an Owlbear Egg in my inventory. What’s the good/bad of using the Owlbear egg over the Gith egg? And if I do give her the Owlbear egg instead, can I still get the Gith egg later?

I already made the old lady pay up front, so I’m not worried about money. Bought all her rare shit than pickpocketed my money back.

Got some questions about the Moon Lantern. I know the main way to get one is by ambushing Kar’niss the drider and his party, but I let them pass and then went to the inn. I stumbled upon them again while wandering around afterwards and they immediately became hostile. Fight quickly went south so I reloaded.

Now, I also know you can get a lantern by either going straight to Moonrise Towers or by siding with Kar’niss instead of the Harpers and asking him to give it to you. I helped the Harpers out when I met them fighting off their turned friend, so I think I’ve locked myself onto their side.

As for Moonrise, I hear Kar’niss and co. are blocking the way there, and I assume this is why I triggered a fight with them. Is there no way to avoid this? I’d prefer not to have to fight, but it looks like I missed my chance to talk to Kar’niss. I did see someone say they avoided the fight by Misty Stepping to Moonrise, though, so I guess I could try that.
