I finally finished my first playthrough, 106 hours all in all. As a Divinity fan sweet Jesus I fucking loved this game. I downloaded it on release day (PS5) as I had the next two weeks off work and I was afraid there wouldn't be enough content and I'm still playing even though I'm back at work. Perfect game.

In all honesty, a Monk (Open Hand) and Rogue (Thief) with Tavern Brawler (STR investment) does insane amounts of damage, considering some of the items you'll find.
If you go Half Orc and you get some Tadpole powers, your fisting crits will leave your enemies gaping on the ground.
Also, here's a hot take.
I believe Gale is the Liz-Fong Jones of Baldur Gate 3.
Such an unrelenting sex pest with a penchant for consent accidents (haha, let me show you a magic trick kiddo!)

Curious what others you know? I'm sure there's at least a couple I just forgot, but right now I can only think of saving Nere in act 1 and stopping the bad press in act 3. Spoiler didn't work after commenting, but these aren't real spoilers tbh.

Shadowheart is the worst companion of any game I've played in recent memory. Like holy shit is she bad. A wishy-washy cunt who deserved being kicked off a cliff after she fucked with Lae'zel. So I kicked her off a cliff. If the devs wanted to push someone so hard they might have tried making her less of a twat because I'm at the big brain now and don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I’ve only swapped Astarion out once so far, he’s a beast if you use him right and I love his sassy personality. Laughed at his body language the other day when he got huffy at Raphael telling him he’d get back to him about the deal.

I think the VA did an insanely great job with Astarion.
After Shart and Laezel have their nigger moment, and Astarion gives his take, he does a little teeth sucking when he's being a dickhead about it. It was such a chef kiss moment and such a nice little touch, I started laughing and started really liking his character.
On other topics, I really, really am having fun with Wild Magic sorcerer.
Some days ago, I was fighting Yurgir and I usually don't save scum and go with the rolls or whatever. So, the fight stars, he throws his gay bombs at me, shoots them, one party member is down, the rest are very low health and burning.
So, I'm thinking I need to disable this nigger demon and deal with his simp squad. I whip out a personal favorite, Polymorph, and aim it at him. Then, suddenly, boom, Wild Magic surge happens and the rest of my party members and myself get turned into dogs. That's right. Low health, burning dogs.
I started laughing so much, I had to go on the balcony and take a breather.
I finished my coffee, came back and hit F8.

That's fine the first time, but I like some of the fights and the dialogue when you're failing a roll.
Another example is the Thorm trio, that can also be talked to death, but I found their fights to be highly thematic and entertaining.

If you liked DOS2 (I did), you'll like it
I don't get the groundbreaking amazing blah blah blah part though. It's a bigger DOS2 with no-mods-needed nudity and a stupid RNJesus dice minigame. That's it

Most RPGs don’t give you the amount of freedom you have in the game. That’s what most people are referring to in terms of the “groundbreaking amazing” thing. You essentially can do the things you think you should be able to in any situation.

I'd really like to get into this, but just can't. Pirated it to try it out, but haven't been able to play much. I don't like DnD like games or top down view. It sucks because it seems great, but maybe it just isn't my cup of tea. Open for any recommendations on how to get into it. It's just a lot to take in at once, never played BG 1/2 or any similar games. It's a lot to learn to be able to play
