I see both sides of it. A little quest marker for timed quests should fixed that.
Yeah that's kind of my thoughts too. However, on the other hand, a lot of DD at the table gives little to no warning something is going to happen. I've yet been able to save that certain character too and am of the mind that they are meant to die and loot later. I only know this because it is showed as complete in my quest log. I got surprised and annoyed by another similar instance involving a door of which you need to wear something to get past. Totally didn't expect to be fighting a certain enemy after a certain amount of time either. I'm really glad, however, that an encounter like it is in the game as it really felt like a table top moment haha. Shocked silence sort.
Im somewhere in act 3 and this game has a lot of issues.
Act 3 didn't get as much polish as the first two acts did IMO. However, it does appear Larian is actually listening to the consumers and are making changes to the act as well as fixing more bugs. As for the other things, yeah, the mechanics of DND are a little wonk; I kind of find it to be the charm.
On the note of wonky, I'm really glad the multi-class restriction has been removed. I think every character I use and the companions are multi-classed by level 5 in some capacity. I'm really thankful that they removed restrictions on multi-classing. Shadowheart Bard/Cleric, Asterion Rouge/Ranger (Dual hand crossbows is broken AF), Laze--the gith Cleric/ Sorcerer (Storm), Dark Urge Oath Breaker Paladin/Warlock (Trying to see if I can work in a Druid of the Spores with the Gish).
Man, I really hope when they release the mod support someone uses the base mechanics of the game to allow us to create custom campaigns and maps. Probably a pipe dream, but I would use this game over roll 20 any day of the week.
IDK if it has been posted before, but I use this site to help pre-build and work out character concepts/synergies.

I wonder how much of Act 3 they intend to actually implement in the end. Their recent response to players about the future seemed like intentionally vague corpo-speak so they could basically do as much or little as they want and still be able to say "We never said we would/wouldn't do XYZ..."
IDK what they'll do, however, unlike the majority of triple A studios these days I trust they'll actually do their best to please the most people.
