There was a 13 year gap between the newest album Inferno and the previous Tomorrow's Harvest which came out in 2013. People freaked out because it had been so long. I really enjoyed it personally. Jazz being an exclusively black genre is one of the most successful revisions in history. The whole idea behind Jazz is that it's a mixture of african and european influences. It's american music first and foremost, one of the most prominent figures in early jazz was a white man literally name Paul Whiteman. The first recorded jazz ensemble was entirely white. Plenty of white men have been prominent musicians in jazz throughout all of it's history. It also heavily depended on the style of jazz that was played. Cool Jazz was often associated more with whites while Bebop was more often black. But there was still plenty of whites and blacks in both.Jazz purists are so pretentious with their categorizations.
