It's because of the degree they obsess over it. I love SU cause the art's awesome and it's so quirky, and yeah, it's pretty inclusive.
But SJWs and tumblrinas who range between stupid tweens to too-old-to-be-caring will write essays and essays of TL;DR posts about why it's so good for children and other nonsense.
It makes them feel good because they think that their rants are so zomgPROGRESSIVE when they really don't realize that the only thing they've done is watch a children's cartoon, have an opinion, and point out the most obvious points.
And since it's Tumblr, everyone circlejerks for having the same exact opinion.
EDIT: Just to bring this back on topic, you can sure as hell bet that Dobson is trying (and somehow failing) to suck that tumblrina dick.

Ha. Y'know, the girl that draws "Lackadaisy Cats" uses cats for her story not only cause they are cute (and fun to draw) but also cause she can use the ears to emphasize emotions. Dobson, on the other hand, doesn't take any advantage of his fursona. I know, it's just his passive aggressive way around having to draw himself, but still. He's supposed to be a cartoonist and stuff like that just shows how unimaginative he is.

It would help if Dobby knew proper anatomy. Or how to draw figures. Or listened to half the shit he complains about in SYAC. Because contrary to what he believes, things like proportion and musculature and the idea of motion are not there to curb your creativity to the will of the evil art-school nazis, but to get you comfortable enough to experiment with shapes in the first place.
Dobson doesn't seem to get that. He thinks he's that zany, creative, free-minded cartoonist (or at least he used to before transmuting into pure vitriol), but in reality, as you said, he's terribly unimaginative. A lot of that is because he never bothers to play with proportions. He never uses it to emphasize aspects that he wants. When he does, it's just all over the place. And that's because he doesn't really understand anatomy, so it never became a tool to him. Just a crutch.
Dobson needs some Loomis. Badly.

Since its launch on May 29th, Dobson has tweeted or retweeted about Splatoon at least 122 times, for an average of just over 17 times per day.
For comparison, he's released five strips of 'So, You're a Cartoonist' thus far in 2015. This includes one comic that was a blatant copy of one he released a year or two ago.
I know it's been said before, but Dobson really needs to re-evaluate his priorities.

I think the whole "stop playing like CoD" thing might already have been that.
Like, players are on the front line taking hits for the team while Dobbles desperately avoids the enemy while paintrolling and gets his ass kicked. In his mind, the ones who come after him because he's an easy target are in the wrong and "playing like CoD".
