I have to admit that the thought of Phil at the target range, getting frustrated when he doesn't hit the bullseye, desperately telling everyone around that there must be something wrong with the gun because "he's an expert marksWOMAN", then spending the rest of the day furiously bouncing and squeaking because he can't shoot for shit and it's shattered his self-image of being a stone cold badass makes me chuckle. That is, of course, if he doesn't scream and drop the gun because of the recoil or get his thumb sliced open by the slide because he held the gun wrong and crossed the thumb of his support hand over the top of his shooting hand. Then I'd laugh my ass of.

Phil wouldn't set foot in a range. While we all know Phil is afraid of brown people, white people, specifically anyone that isn't a suburbanite like Taters, also scare him.

While I'm sure he wouldn't be shot on site, his tattoos and his behavior would instantly mark him as someone to keep an eye on.

Depends on the pistol. A lot of semi-auto pistols have captured recoil springs/guide rods for that very reason, like GLOCKs and H&K USPs. However, Phil can't afford something as nice as a GLOCK or Heckler and Koch. Regardless, Phil is too simple minded to properly field strip and reassemble a pistol.

Yet if he ever did I fully expect him to upload a picture of it in pieces, a few going missing as he fumbles around with it, then, after posting it for us to see, him trying and becoming increasingly agitated and squeaky as he cannot put the thing back together, until finally, he just duct-tapes the pieces together and claims it's been modified into a super deadly russian-style assassination weapon.

Assuming he just doesn't throw the pieces into that ratty bag he totes around.

Seeing him trying to strip an older Ruger semi-auto like a P90 would be hilarious. They have a little lever inside the magwell/grip that if you don't flip it down you can't disassemble the gun, and if it flips back up with the slide removed you can't reassemble it either. It also has a separate recoil spring and guide rod so it can easily launch the guide rod into some corner urban under the couch and be lost to the ages. The Ruger Mk.II and Mk.III .22lr pistols are an even bigger pain in the ass.

Considering Phil's lack of common sense, I'm actually a little surprised he hasn't tried "field stripping" his crappy folding knife.

We all know Phil will clean his gun as often as he cleans himself, as in never. He'll lazily toss it in a bag where crumbs and other shit get lodged into places and he'll be dumb enough to open carry without a permit of any kind.

I think it's safe to assume that no matter what gun he wastes his government buxs on it'll be a potato gun.
 
A real man uses a muzzle-loaded flintlock/percussion cap. It's what the crown used to take over 90% of the earth, and it's what the American founding fathers intended with the second amendment. Anything else is a weapon for poofs. Wait a tick... A modern pistol would be perfect for Phil, I suppose.
 
Actually enjoying reading through the thread and noticing that almost everyone one of you that has put forward an opinion on this has absolutely no firearms knowledge in the slightest

Oh well, like it has been said before, it's not like he could legally get his crusty paws on one and he's too scared/dumb to buy illegal firearms. So no Women's Restroom Shootout saga coming up, that's for sure. I'm just waiting on blurry pictures of AirSoft/BB gun that is totes some spetznas assassin gear for poor latinx, followed by night in a cell because he waves toy gun around some manajerk who don't let him access his court ordered sex's bathrooms.

The term "mentally sound" isn't something I'd use personally to describe Phil's state of mind, but I'll shoot. He has some form of 'tism apparently(not necessarily disqualifying factor, mind you), not to mention he has been put on an involuntary psychiatric hold lately which kinda throws a spanner in the gears. He's also living under a bridge and occasionally mooching someone off by choice, inking kid's doodling's on his own skin and in general being more special case than just being "mentally sound". I'd argue also that firearms tend to cost more than he's really willing to part, since it'd cut too deep into his tattoo and cheese budget.
