Bankruptcy and having nearly all of his debt wiped away yet needing more income than before aside....I think a lot of people are forgetting one thing and that is how entitled Phil is.

He thinks because of his 12/13 year begacy he deserves anything he wants. He deserves to eat out anytime he wants. He deserves 200 a stream. He deserves an extra 1000-3000 every time that he wants some extra money.

He,alone, set the precedence for what streaming games is today. Money may be tight but he deserves to eat out 5 days a week because of who he is!!

He really thinks, in his head, that he is one of the hardest working guys on the planet and is owed everything. He experiences delusions of grandeur.

It's total ego and pride and it will be his ultimate downfall.

Today just won't be that day, apparently.

I do have one question that may seem off topic...

He calls himself a former pro fighting game player. What constitutes a "pro" fighting game player ? From what I can tell outside of his 4th place evo he never really won much. He lost just about every money match he played. He admitted he wasn't part of the "in crowd" and I can't seem to find any companies that sponsored him or paid for his trips and admission to the tournaments. So he wasn't a winner, he wasn't sponsored, and he only had one 4th place finish on some random port yet no one challenges his "professional" status.

How does one become a "pro fighting game player"? Can it just be self proclaimed ?

This fat retard spent approximately 10% of the amount he was given in tips to order 1 meal for him and his potato wife. . .and fell $600 short of what he needed people to give him to 'pay his mortgage' or he 'won't have enough', but everyone who suggests maybe you don't spend $100 on a single meal while claiming your mortgage is about to go unpaid are the idiots who don't understand how the 'Adult World' works

From what I understand it that Pro fighting game players are actually sponsored to go to tournaments /leagues. Like today's E-sport. I think this here explains it a bit. timestamp 18:07 if it does not work

A pro gamer is generally defined as a full time competitive gamer who's affiliated with some kind of team or sponsor. (think people playing LoL, Overwatch, etc at tournaments) Phil was a sad loser nobody taking out credit cards to swan around the country having his ass handed to him at every tournament except one. You're spot on in that anyone can proclaim themselves to be anything they like, it doesn't actually mean anything. The only place he is a former pro fighting game player is in his own fantasy land.

EDIT: I kind of consider it the same way he calls himself a "King", in terms of legitimacy. He's clearly not, but it gives him a reason to feel smug and superior, which he loves.

In fairness to Phil, his heyday was in the mid 2000s when esports in America were basically unheard of. If your criteria for pro is "does an org pay him a salary/sponsor him to go to events/etc" then nearly nobody back then was a pro player, except maybe the EMP guys but EMP & Triforce Johnson are their own entire bag of worms that aren't really worth getting into here. Still, it's basically a self proclaimed title.

If DSP was 17 years younger right now and went back to his "peak" in fighting games, and competed in modern fighters, he'd flounder. He was above average but definitely not good enough to keep up with most other players in FGs. The only exception is Marvel vs Capcom 1, which I've heard he was actually really good at in the 2000s. But competition for esports and games in general is way more fierce today, considering how mainstream gaming is, and how many people grow up with their dream job being a streamer/pro player/Youtuber. Phil couldn't keep up, and even in his youth he displayed a lot of "I COULD be good but I just don't want to" bitch-excuse type behavior. He's too lazy to get good, he was never a "pro".

This new era of marathons with unmet tips goals, unanswered whale calls, and extra whale abuse is so great.

I hope LonelyCoffee and co. are ready to keep funding Phil, because I'm pretty sure what we're currently seeing will be the norm for the following months. Whales giving thousands a month, and their portion will only become larger as Phil ostracizes past whales like Jakileez.

I really didn't expect this YouTube saga to be this interesting. But for the first time, it actually seems reasonable to say we're watching Phil's downfall in real time.

I'm sure he will try to sustain this for as long as possible, but I don't think it's very sustainable in the long run.

I was looking into finding an answer about fundraising on YouTube for my good friend @Nigel of Ukip, when I stumbled upon this

I absolutely love finding shit talk about The Roach in random places it warms my heart.

Side note: I can't find a clear answer in YouTube or Adsense policies, about raising funds for yourself. Phil's "This is NOT for Charity..." phrasing in his description is either to shut retards up, cover his ass, or he was already drinking gin.

I'm not sure why he doesn't just have a GoFundMe set up. If he did that people could anonymously donate whether he is streaming or not. Or is that how his patreon is working these days ?

There isn't a platform fee and it's like 1.9% and .30 cents per donation received. It has to be better than super chats and memberships right ? I could be wrong here. Just curious.

Looks like when Phil will leave the internet the only legacy he will leave behind is being "the guy" and an example on how not to ask for money and not how to play video games. And he is a gamer. Yikes

Made a joke of gofundme a day or two ago. If he tried it, I think it'd go over as well as Patreon. He's barely updated it in 2-3 years and expects people to continue to pay. There is no reason to be a patron much like there is no reason to help Phil stay afloat as a streamer. With other people or services you usually get something out of it...Phil can't be bothered to send people shirts or anything because postage would cripple him. Hell he made retards that bought some his well loved statues pay postage and positive he went to the UPS store or fed ex and had them package it probably costing a good chunk of money.

I will order doordash maybe once or twice a month. It is expensive though and not something to do all the time. Also I only use it for restaurants that are far away like 15-20 min. Why would you use it for mcdonalds 3 min away lmao that is expensive.
must be nice, i have to get up, get in my fucking car, drive there, spend my hard earn money that doesnt come from playing video games, get home, eat, and then do all my house chores before going to bed before work the next day where i dont sit on a couch and beg children for money. but ya know, what phil does is really hard. so tough. poor phil :(

the lack of a Gifted Membership functionality on YT

Another marathon, another paypig publicly humiliated. The Jakileez rant was just one of the many public floggings delivered by Cult Leader Phil over the years

Didn't jakileez throw him a grand not that long go?

Haven't been able to read and catch up on the whole thread, so maybe some of this has been pointed out already.

1. Something he said near the beginning was pretty revealing to me. He said, 'Once I get my payment from YT on the 21st, I'll be okay for the rest of the month'. So, for what? 10 days and then you're in 'trouble' again? If this is what he's saying, apparently YT only covers the last 1/3 of the month, and what bills does he even have then, given this marathon is supposed to be paying all the bills he's mentioned BEFORE he gets paid by YT.
Depends on what day you believe him. This is what he said his billz were after the 20th originally:

This is just more dumb than anything else, but I'm sure it was his typical hyperbole as well. He said his 'tax attorney' has to file all kinds of major, complicated paperwork to get his tax payment date changed because it's on the 20th right now, but YT doesn't pay him until the 21st. He says that he's majorly screwed if he misses it because 'he defaulted on a federal payment.
He conveniently forgets he wasn't making the payments when he was going through the begruptcy.

Has anyone ever asked him, where he gave a legitimate answer, why he doesn't ever seem to include Kat's income when figuring out how to pay their bills? My guess is he'd say something attempting to appear magnanimous like, 'Oh, no, that's her money to buy herself things with' when the truth is that if he mentions it as going towards their expenses, he can't cry as poor as he currently does because it makes the math even more shady than it currently is.
They have and his answer, that will now bite him in the ass, is she has her own money for her own spending. So as I pointed out in the regular thread, if she really wants a series x as the pig claims, she can use her own money to buy it.

He should name his tiers "paypig", "motorized wheelchair" and "whale".

Any time DSP gets a streamer in his chat, like Wings of Redemption or Vegan Gains recently (what a weird day that was), DSP's response is always to ignore them until they leave, and then berate chat if they try to get his attention (because they mistakenly believe that DSP just hasn't seen the guy as opposed to DSP just ignoring them completely.)
I watched that video and he came off REALLY BAD.
Ignoring is sometimes worse then behaving badly when this happens.
Anyway, I watched a few other streamers when a raid happens and they behave completely different.
They laugh, cheer and welcome the new people. They sometimes even introduce themselves.
DSP is too paranoid to do that.
