I think it should stay in here and people who want to discuss the actual show should go to the media section/create a group to discuss it like the MLP fans did/do.

What I find weird about posts like that, and there are A LOT of them, is that the only people who care about characters being autistic or some other shit are the ones who self diagnose themselves with it in the first place (and not out of actual concern but as something to throw around on the tumblrs for oppression points.) I remember seeing a post from an autistic person sayin they do not care and actually dont really like the autistic head canons being plastered on every goddamn character due to the fact people base it off of stereotypes and what not. The shit storm that followed after :(

I think the only discussion of the show that needs to go on in here is to provide context for lolcow behavior.
 
I'm reminded of Nietzsche whenever I hear about the tumblr SU fandom:

"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you."

Tumblr wants to insist that they're better than those dang dirty bronies that overanalyze children's cartoons and make porn of them, and has done so for several years now. And yet here they are, doing the same thing they got angry at bronies for doing, all while continuing to cast themselves as the better fandom.

A lot of those "headcanons" really bother me.
I'm a total character sperg, see. And pretty proud of it too.

Thing is when I come up with them, it's because I've taken a character I'm fond of and I notice little things about them. Because I like them for themselves.
These "x IS AUTISMTIC AN DEMIGIRL" is the opposite: it's slapping labels onto something to twist it into something you can like instead of actually liking the character for any traits they do possess.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't - SU staff are pretty open about their love of retro anime. There's a lot of Utena and Sailor Moon references peppered throughout the show too. There's a scene in one episode that recreates a scene from Utena almost perfectly, shot-for-shot.

That shit is surprisingly common.

People calling an autistic person ableist for disagreeing with autistic headcanons is a fucking sight to see.

There's now someone in the Steven Universe fandom that's harassing others for liking the Say Uncle episode and for liking Uncle Grandpa, calling both things "transmisogynistic" and is comparing both things to child abuse.

The person I am talking about is autistic-toxsa, who is more infamously known as DameGreyWulf. Basically, Dame has a very infamous history and has been featured on Reddit's TiA in the past. She's also infamous for being a major, and a very toxic and abusive hounddog for the infamous Butthurt-Brigade on Deviantart. Not to mention, a couple of months ago, she and I had a spat over a genderbent version of a character in another fandom of mine.

The sad thing is, I would not be surprised if the vast majority of tumblr, especially the Steven Universe fandom will side with her and support her harassment of others who disagree with her and most of the Steven Universe fandom on tumblr...

UPDATE: That being said, she honestly deserves a thread of her own.

UPDATE 2: Also the Steven Universe fandom is attacking other fandoms beside Uncle Grandpa and the Bronies too.

Well, Sonic is definitely one of them. Hell, a very VERY VERY large portion of lolcows come from the Sonic fandom, such as Chris-chan, AKnotholeResident, MarioTehPlumber, Alix Henriol, Guptil 89, etc. But that's just one (and probably one of the creepiest) fandoms that is infamous for being incredibly annoying/disturbing since Tiny Toons.
 
I am personally deeply saddened by the behavior of Tumblr SU fans. The last time something like this happened, it was with MLP, which I personally am indifferent towards. During the Great Brony Wars on 4chan and Tumblr, I sat on the sidelines with a bucket of popcorn and laughed my ass off for months at what amounted to two groups of unwashed no-life internet fuckbrains flinging shit at each other about a cartoon aimed at 7 year old girls. I'm doing the same with this sperg war, but every kek is bittersweet because this conflict is dividing those who should share the common bond of loving this gem of a show (pun intended). You don't have to like it if you don't want to, but just know that not every SU fan is an irredeemable autist.
