Comicsgate Hangers-On and Drama Whores - A thread about some guy who's mad about Star Wars and the neckbeards obsessively stalking him

WC leader "Panboy Soychild Donglover" showed up on Liam's stream demanding Malin and Cecil appear to get beaten up online and have take their Comicsgate license taken away and if they didn't there was going to the biggest meme war against "Smalin" anyone ever seen. He started rallying the audience of who was in charge of Comicsgate - the pros telling people who to support, or the smaller creators, the little guys? This tantrum went on for 55 minutes until Frog showed up and told him to shut the fuck up and stop annoying customers with this bullshit, causing Panboy to cave immediately and whimper to Daddy about the mean things Cecil said. But Caesar wasn't having any of it. Panboy complied very sullenly, but wanted to make sure Caesar knew he loved him. Cecil appeared in the chat to snicker at what biiiig trouble Panboy and Ro were in now.

Now wait a minute Ethan! I thought he didn't have a hand in directing wc, yet some of them sure stand down immediately when Ethan orders it publicly.

I wonder if he could tell them to do something just as easily and effectively as he tells them to not do something?

I thought it was accepted that people would usually get lower backers of varying amounts as time went on unless you're really putting out some amazing shit. The same way there's a drop-off after any #1 issue until it hits a customer sweetspot.
Crowdfunding is a strange beast and results vary. Mike S Miller, Jon Malin and Sweetcast all experienced a growth in backers and funds from their #1s to #2s. Then there's the crowdfunding golden boy Brian Pullido who's Lady Death has increased each time up to his 11th campaign, so growth certainly is attainable.

It might be that Ethan and Richard peaked too early with their name recognition and have slowly declined since, or it might be that a large percentage of backers weren't happy with the final product. In Ethan's case I would also argue that his abrasive personality might be one of the causes as there are no shortage of former customers from twitter or here on the Farms expressing nothing short of contempt for the guy.
Side story: so, i wasnt really following the story about those coins and i dont really care if it was a scam or not, cause i didnt have my money in that shit. But you know what is a scam? Selling comics for over 10$ look what i got today for 60$... yea i know there is no chromium cover or a poster, but still i think it was worth it.

And yes i was a good boy and covered L's name.
Very nice!

Instead of buying Frog's rip off of a Honeycomb box, for $200 I snagged the entire Lady Death Collection off Brian Pullido. Ten signed 48 page graphic novels, 10x digital copies and a mountain of stretch goals that I honestly don't know what to do with. Free shipping too!

Not as cost effective as your choice, but I was still relatively pleased with my purchase.
Pan is but Ro isn't. He came in right after and ran over everyone like an Asian driver with a cell phone addiction.

Ethan changed his tune when Ro came in and his authority went out the window.

Telling.
At this point I would argue that Ethan needs Ro more than Ro needs Ethan. It is far easier to replace a Caesar than it is to replace an army. It will come down to a clash of personalities and if Ethan and Ro ever put on the gloves, Ro will probably wreck Ethan verbally. Ro is more up to date with internet slang and culture and has an extensive vocabulary compared to Ethan.
It amazes me how fragile people who criticize star wars for a living are. They bitch and moan about SW and the "art" all day long but the second someone doesn't like their product they shit their pants.
What annoys me is the Last Jedi came out years ago and half of them still carry on about it. Let it go, don't get worked up over things you can't change. Find something else to invest your energy into and be passionate about that, crying like a salty bitch on the internet about a Star Wars movie that came out years ago is retarded.
Hmmm, it'll be funny if wc backstabs ceaser and Ro takes over CG, if ethan wants to be ceaser he will have to go through the same story as him. But that's what he gets for saying "I am fine with WC's actions because they're both spregs."
We came awfully close during the "Fall of Rome" stream. After Ethan called out Ro and Warcampaign on his show, Ro livestreamed not to long after and said something I found to be very interesting.

I'm paraphrasing here but it was along the lines of:

"Zack used to be our leader, but he never had the balls to step up and take it, Caesar has been our leader since. But if he can't take it, then someone else will have to step up. Warcampaign will always be here."

It was the most telling statement of Ro's deranged mind, Ethans position of Caesar is about as secure as any other Caesar history. Whether Ro would find someone else to worship or step in to fill the void himself, I'll leave to others to speculate on.

These faggots forget that Rome got its ass kicked by a bunch of drunken germans in a forest. In fact, they got their ass kicked so hard three whole legions stopped existing it was that brutal. Oh, and got their ass kicked by a bunch of hobos related to the Persians called the Dahae too; killed a Triumvirate member too. Oh, and lost to more drunken hobos like Atilla and more germans later on.

What I'm trying to say is, Warcampaign are faggots who think drinking wolf cum is cool and who would lose in a barfight with homeless people.

Before the Vic stuff, he got on the CG radar by correcting Ya Boi Zack's video about IDW's sales numbers(used to do a lot of vids on that sinking ship of a company) and the bog standard stuff about comic pros being dicks, that everyone else in CG was doing. People got a kick out of those videos and Zack recommended him a few times because enjoyed TUG's insight into the company. He got a bigger boost on the Vic stuff because he was one of the first ones to talk about it on youtube with a significant sub count. It was about this point I tapped out because like you said, he was just regurgitating whatever Nick said on his livestreams and I might as well solely watch Nick if he was gonna do that. I don't mind a bit of rambling, since I usually have these vids in the background anyway, but that was just annoying

Tug's not really intelligent. He jumped ship soon as weeb war came along. fun fact, he and Edwin were besties for a long while. whatever happened there?

I 100% agree about crowd funding. Pullido is working to build an audience for his comics which means as long as he delivers products people want to read he'll grow or at least maintain.

Tennaple too.

CG builds an audience for drama not comics. The comic is a keepsake like a tee-shirt or coffee mug. A way of showing ones appreciation and support for an eceleb not a comic book character or story. Like Crowder's Mug Club or Shapiro's Tumbler. Half these people don't care to read the book.

People don't actually talk about the character or story in CyberFrog. They talk about Ethan. People talk about GoT far more than they talk about George RR Martin.

As Ethan's celebrity ages and wanes so will his sales as they are driven by his personality and not his product.

The same goes for Super Harem, GYS, and most of the CG books.

I bought Downcast because I liked Clint and thought he'd be a good writer. I'm not fond of him anymore and the first half of his story wasn't compelling enough to draw me in for the conclusion.

If Clint had written the next Spider-Man or Walking Dead none of this would have mattered and I would have jumped on his next book immediately. He just didn't.

Ro isn't well liked outside of WC. His cult does not extend beyond his group and he'd lose many from WC if he didn't have Ethan. Ethan is loved by the losers in CG & WC while Ro is tolerated outside the WarCampaign group and that group is only a small but obnoxiously vocal part of Ethan's fan club not Ro's. Ro has to ride Ethan's coat tails.

Further Ethan doesn't need an army. In fact he'd be better off if he'd jettisoned his army last year at The Fall of Rome. Ethan has an army he needs to keep feeding that keeps turning their swords inward against his empire.

When's the last time WC attacked an outside threat?

Vikki, Mike, Doug and Preston aren't outside threats. They were all CG until they were pushed out or walked away.

They talk like they fight the industry pros and Renfamous but at this point they never do and those pros and Ren have been laughing at them not fighting.

Ro may dream of taking Ethan's place but it will never happen. The only reason CG exists at all at this point is to be a fan club for Ethan. Nobody joins a fan club for Brad Pitt and stays when Brad leaves and Matt Damon takes over.

If Ro thinks he can "take over" he's read the room all wrong.

I read that as Ro thinks war campaign has the power to "King" another creator. Watch who they court.

Doug TenNapel has been calling WC scum since last year, after Ro made jokes about Anna's dead sister. Doug calling CG controversial and leaving has been completely justified several times by War Campaign alone. Cecil, Jon, and Ethan should apologize to him and stop with the constant hate, Doug never made a good Goldstein for CG since he shares the same philosophy and is more personable than any one in CG besides Kelsey. If Kelsey is even still CG and not team Walmart.

Speaking of Walmart, has anyone in CG giving the Breit's shit? If you want to talk about froo-ad, they used Red Rooster's campaign to crowdfund their Publishing deal with Walmart. The dumbass backers thought they were buying a comic book.

There's a lot correct about Ethan's "loosely affiliated e-thugs" in there, but it begs the question: what threats do they think they're aiming these retarded e-thugs at even if it's external? Mean tweets and possibly the inconvenience of changing platforms? I don't think these speds successfully fought off an actual threat like the aging soy lump getting a contract cancelled

I think you're right. Unsubstantiated rumor's of hacking, doxxing and CC fraud aside I think WarCampaign's efforts have been ineffective for much other than annoying the harassed.

At least externally.

Internally they've managed to be more effective pushing out some creators and fans while getting others to submit to their pressure.

But as you said externally they're little more than an inconvenience for some, an annoyance for others and a justification for people like Renfamous.

Losers.

These douche bags are just not getting it. LMAO. They are out to pretty much to destroy. Their not looking for people to improve and mature. Granted they themselves do not want to improve or be mature...... and this is why their "cult" is turning on each other. All they think about is bringing people down and driving them into the ground. It's no fucking better than the people they want to see burn. They have become what they claim to "stand against" and worse.

Wow, Tugs friendship doesn't go far at all. That knife in that back!

Gas lighters and users don't have "friends", they have people they use for however long they can and only really look out for themselves. Which in how both him and his wife are true pos people........ if it came to it, I could see them turning on the other if it was a gain for one of them. I think I could see "Lola" actually winning it in ways.

Now what?

I'm gonna have to get a commercial theater style popcorn maker.

I scroll up one tweet from that and get Ethan Van Sciver, certified genius who has enough alt-right/alt-light associates to appear on livestreams that include Randbot2020, hailing the shit out of all kinds of stuff.

A master of presentation and optics like Ethan will certainly suffer no lasting repercussions over being Richard Spencer adjacent, repeatedly using some of his most infamous phrasing, associating with rabid antisemites and openly admitting to being on regular extended friendly phone call terms with Vox Day

This is like watching the Gavin McInnes arc again, except Ethan isn't funny or witty, and has far fewer stories of youthful degeneracy in his past to spice up observing his slow march to ostracizion

Warcampaign hails quality now? Did they finally find a cg creator who can write an acceptable story?

For all his spergery, I will admit Ethan can be quite funny in the right company (i.e. Zack, Mike, Edwin, Nasser - you know, all people who won’t go on his streams) when he inserts some non-sequitor questions like “Would you become a cannibal?”

He’s good at driving a conversation forward which is essential for a good livestream.
