On one hand, I like that this isn't an origin story. I like it when characters have a little bit of mystery to them and we don't have all the questions of their past answered.

On the other hand, I really wish this had come out BEFORE Endgame....it is harder for the story to have any tension when I know what happens to her. Hopefully the side characters provide some intrigue.

I waited forever for this shit. I'm excited

Can someone explain why people thirst for David Harbour though? Man looks like a decrepit hobo

Also I'm pretty sure Endgame Nat was a clone

Captain Marvel wasn't misandrist. Some of the secondary marketing was, but the film itself wasn't.

It was however generic and boring.

I'm going to disagree about the misandry. The movie made Nick Fury an absolute joke in attempt to make Carol look "cooler," the only bits of Carol's past that we see involve men telling her "you can't do this! neener neener! COCKpit! Get it?!," and the movie completely and utterly disgraces the Mar-Vell character. They change Mar-Vell into a woman, simply because Carol couldn't have gotten her powers from a ... Man.

Not sure if you're into the comics or not (and it's totally fine if you're not), but in my opinion, the movie's agenda looks pretty crystal clear because of my knowledge with the comics.

Plus, there's a lot of forced dialogue and music choices that are just pure cringe. The "Just a Girl" moment is one of the worst decisions ever made in a Marvel movie, and Little Monica Rambeau is just a one-liner machine about "cutesy girl power" messages.

Or the deleted scene of her beating up a guy for flirting with her

I was going to use that as an example, but I don't think it quite counts since it's not in the final cut?

The fact that they filmed that scene at all makes the movie's agenda pretty clear, though.

And the scene that was left in the movie was bad enough. A guy telling you to smile justifies stealing from him/commiting an actual crime. Mmmmmkay.

I wasn't very familiar with Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel in the comics other than being aware they existed and that Rogue ate one of them (and I think Spiderman fucked Carol at some point?), so that would explain it.

I'm just sitting here waiting for the Fantastic Four movie and hopefully a Daredevil revival, to be honest. Nothing I've seen looks exciting, outside of maybe GotG 3 and the new Thor. I really liked Mysterio in Far from Home, but I've given up on the Spider-Man MCU movies resembling the comics at all at this point. It's like they're afraid of making Peter a moody, neurotic mess because that might make him look like a complete asshole at times, so instead he's the same quip machine lovable nerd as Peter and Spider-Man. Also, pretty much every decision they've made regarding his supporting cast is baffling, from making Betty Brant a blonde fellow student, to making fucking (Asian) Ned Leeds his best friend (when he never had one in high school in the comics and Ned Leeds hated Peter's guts most of the time, on top of being an all around unpleasant jerk), to reworking Mary Jane for absolutely no reason and all the way to May having absolutely no purpose and feeling tacked on. It's crazy that going back and reading Ultimate Spider-Man (about a high school Peter that changes a bunch of established lore and indirectly influenced the worst elements in the MCU Spidey films) still feels more like Spider-Man than the MCU movies. And rereading the 70s and especially 80s Spidey stories, they hold up really well and could be adapted easily without retreading the ground that every Spider-Man movie feels like it needs to do. Start in media res with a symbiote movie, or a Hobgoblin movie, or a Jackal movie, or a Sin-Eater movie (especially considering how well it would fit with the MCU) or a Rose movie, or a Black Cat movie, or a Smythe movie. Do something different for once, and introduce kids to villains that aren't just the classic Dikto gallery.

Marvel's Animated Hulu Comedy 'Tigra & Dazzler' on Pause Amid Creative Overhaul (Exclusive)

Marvel is changing course on one of its four adult-themed animated comedies at Hulu.

Tigra & Dazzler Show showrunner Erica Rivinoja (Girls Trip, The Addams Family) and the comedy's entire writing staff have been let go from the series following creative differences with Marvel. Sources say Rivinoja and her team had completed multiple scripts and outlines for others and were 15 weeks into a planned 20-week production cycle.

Production on the show has been paused as sources note Marvel plans to hire a new showrunner and have them build their own writing team as part of a larger creative overhaul. All of the work Rivinoja and her staff had completed is being thrown out. Sources say Hulu and Marvel — who both declined comment — remain committed to making Tigra & Dazzler.

--

Tigra & Dazzler — which will feature executive producer Chelsea Handler in one of its leading voice roles — is a story about two woke superheroes and best friends, Tigra and Dazzler, as they fight for recognition among powered people who make up the 8 million stories in L.A. Loeb is attached to exec produce all of Hulu's Marvel animated shows. Outside of Hulu's animated plans, all that remains of Loeb's Marvel slate is the final season of ABC's Agents of SHIELD — the same show that ironically launched the company into the live-action scripted space. All of the MCU TV spinoffs coming to Disney+ are being overseen by Feige and the film division.

Literal get woke, go broke story for the wine aunt running this show.

The final word on Daredevil has already been said. Disney would ruin it with a revival.
If they hired back most of the same talent, I can't see how they'd fuck it up too bad. The showrunner himself said they had a shit ton of plans past season 3. We haven't seen actual Bullseye yet and until we do, I'm not happy. If they want to go truly woke, I'll take an adaptation of Nocenti's run at this point.

I guess I misinterpreted "revival" as "reboot". Still, I don't trust them with it.

Plus it's a shame Spiderman can't be involved. It makes more sense for him to be in the street level heros' world than the Avengers. But that ship has sailed.

Yeah, I meant bringing everyone back for a season 4. I don't see how else they could do it, the Defenders are straight up canon to the MCU. And trust me, I'm mad about the Spider-Man thing too. We're never getting an adaptation of The Death of Jean DeWolff at this point, unless that sekrit project that Spider-Man can appear in besides the third Spider-Man movie is a Daredevil episode/movie and they introduce her in Daredevil rather than Spider-Man. But that doesn't really make any sense, because Jean was always closer to Pete.
