And WoW has the problems of brain-drain and just plain running out of shit to work with. Think about the expansions in order. Burning Crusade used one of the most popular characters and leveraged the origin of one of the game’s 2 main factions to create plot, drive, and setting. Same thing with Wrath. Cata had the devs realizing that parts of the game were getting stagnant and it let to them changing the overworld and rebalancing parts of the game. It didn’t work and things escalated to the point where it was unambiguously the worst xpac until WoD. Mists stabalized things and generally ended up being pretty good once people learned to deal with the pandas. WoD fucked up in every possible way that didn’t involve raiding, which was actually pretty good that xpac. Legion is kind of a mixed bag in that it juxtaposed a lot of really good ideas with some really bad ones. The artifact weapons were cool. They did cool things (mostly), they almost all looked cool, and they solved a problem that many people had in you could just get the worst possible luck with weapon drops and lose out on performance when your group might really need it. What wasn’t so good was the grind and the legendary item shitshow. The grind for artifact power was maddening sometimes, and the legendary system was screwed in so many ways because you had no control over which one you’d get for like the first year of the xpacs life, and some of them were absolutely useless. The first one I got were the plate boots legendary about a month and half in, which became a running gag for my guild because I was among the last if the raid group to get one and because I played dk; and both dps dk specs were especially defined by their legendary items. It became less of an issue once everyone got a few that actualy suited their roles, but that’s something that took months of work. BfA seems like it tried to fix the problems with artifacts and legendaries but either took the wrong lessons from them, created even bigger problems, or was set up to make people stay online for longer to give more chances at good gear. The artifacts might have had some issues, and the legendaries were a slog to get at best; but all of them had very defined effects that usually ended up being cool while radically changing your rotation. Azerite is gear is by its very nature lower in power, more random, and less interesting. The story is also less interesting, but this post long enough without me getting into the many other screwups in BfA. Maybe the new patch fixes some issues, but I flipped to FF14 about 3 weeks ago. To anyone considering switching btw, the story for 14’s first xpac is unironically fantastic.

Whether this is just a LARP or real, I have to agree with him over the Final Fantasy vs WoW thing. Square really is trying to do new things to keep that game exciting, but it kind of seems like Blizzard has forgotten about what you'd think would be their most important game. This is kind of funny since FF (both the earlier mmorpg, and this one) were mostly failures upon release, whereas WoW was an instant hit.

I get being disappointed by a company doing annoying/terrible practices, but why would you destroy a product that you:
1. Already paid for, so you lose both money and product.
2. Can use at your leisure, granted you have a disk drive.
3. Can re-sell for (usually) decent money, because physical copies of games are quite valuable in the era of digital distribution.
4. Prove nothing by breaking, since a single person is very insignificant in the eyes of the company.
Leave those discs alone, they're not worth it.
If you REALLY want them destroyed, then here's probably better solution - sell those discs through a service like eBay to someone who's showing an inclination to destroy some of Blizzard's property in protest as well. Not only will you get your wish fulfilled, but you'll even profit off of the outrage.

Not to mention that Diablo 1 and 2 were made by Blizzard North, and that there's basically no overlap between modern Blizzard and the people who made Diablo.

Nah, it's got nothing to do with whether or not I like the idea of Diablo 4 as presented in the 4Chan post, or anything as presented in the 4Chan post, it's just that I am so confident that it's bullshit that I'm willing to do that.
The only Blizzard games I really played a lot of were Diablo 1, WoW pre-BC and Overwatch so I'm not nearly as emotionally invested in their stuff as a lot of people are. I have been keeping tabs on what they've been up to in general and think WoW looks real, real bad now. I absolutely 100% believe they're going for woke cred. I totally believe that they're suffering from brain drain and poor writing. But Diablo IV (actual Diablo IV, not like a spin-off game in the vein of Warcraft Adventures) being and FPS and literally not including a single white male character in Overwatch 2 sounds like so much bullshit I'm willing to put up or shut up.
EDIT:
I haven't played Apex Legends but looking at their website Caustic appears to be a white guy. I'm not saying OW2 isn't going to be "woke" as shit and have an almost entirely minority cast. I'm saying "Overwatch 2 will not have any white male characters at all" sounds like bullshit.
But on the flip side considering how popular Apex Legends appears to be (#2 on Twitch right now) I guess you can piss and moan about all the characters in a game being gay black people all you want, it doesn't seem to have much impact on the game's success.
EDIT 2: LMAO all though apparently Apex is tanking in terms of profits. Not knowing much about the game I couldn't say why, all though I suspect its poor actual gameplay development and the fact that BRs are kind of old and busted and nothing is gonna be more popular than Fortnite. I will 100% agree that focusing more on being "woke" than making an actual decent product is a problem (see: the new Ghostbusters), but I can't say whether or not that's part of Apex's problem.

Oh I don't believe everything he says will come go to production. But I do believe that those are serious ideas they are batting around the office. They seem like the thoughts of groups of people that are completely out of touch with the PC audience, and mostly play mobile games.

I mean, Apex has some white and non-black characters as well. Wraith is typical mentally ill white chick, Mirage is mixed race American at best, Gibraltar is either Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Wattson is French or French Canadian (her last name is Paquette, which is a popular last name in Quebec apparently), and Bloodhound is likely some sort of Nordic European (with all the Icelandic references as well as references to Norse gods).
People just care too much about "muh lack of white characters" shit. These games have plenty of white characters still.

Forcing "wokeness", LGBTQ and social justice nonsense through games makes the companies lose money.
Significantly. Because it alienates and annoys the vast majority of players. People don't like having political stuff shoved in their face all the time.
The small but loud minority that actually welcomes such nonsense rarely even plays or buys games. They just write about it on facebook and twitter for virtue points.
Battlefield 5 is a great example of a game that crashed and burned because of the developers going "woke".
The fact that video game companies lose money by forcing leftist propaganda makes their intentions very obvious, tbh.

Well, Torbjorn, Ana and Widowmaker are straight in lore for now.
It's definitely forcing SJW ideologies will turn people off, but I don't think it's the only reason why game flops in the first place. I believe it has to be something more, like gameplay or story.
Like Mass Effect Andromeda, people don't like it much because it wasn't original trilogy ME, they don't like characters that much compared to original cast. Gameplay wise, combat is better but co-op mode is considered to be worse than ME3 coop. Enemies scaling in higher difficulty, class balances are bad. The horrible launch hurt the game so much.
For Battlefield 5, this series has been running for a long time, I'm not surprised people aren't that into the military shooter genre anymore. Especially BR is still super trending right now. Not all people like changes, differences or themes in each version. Then, sequel has less contents compared to previous.
Anthem isn't that much SJW, you have trailer with non white characters as pilots that's it. But everyone knows the game is failure for being a super unfinished and flaw game.

Pushing leftist propaganda isn't the only reason (or a guarantee) for games to flop, yes. It depends on how unfitting and forced it is and how good the game is in general.
But it can be a major factor. I think it's pretty certain that it's amongst the main reasons for BF5 crashing and burning.
They just forced it THAT aggressively, even heavily altering the history of WW2 to better accommodate their propaganda - in a game genre that lives from realism and attention to detail.
Every second soldier on the nazi side being black, brown or female was a bit ridiculous.
As was the amount of condescendence and insults thrown back at the fanbase for pointing it out.
No, we weren't even talking about that right now. We did a few pages ago. I have explained my standpoint several times already.
I also highly doubt that you would be able to produce a faked leak elaborate enough for me to consider.
