Disaster Shooting At STEM School Highlands Ranch (Colorado) - Two Shooters - One Dead, Eight Injured

One 18-year-old male was killed and eight students were hurt in a shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch and police say “two shooters” were caught by officers running into the building. Both suspects are students at the school.

The school is located approximately 8 miles from Columbine High School in neighboring Jefferson County.

Denver7 reported that investigators believe at least one of the suspects stole the guns from the parents of the 18-year-old suspect,

Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock confirmed that at least two handguns were used in the shooting.

High-ranking sources told Denver7 Tuesday night that three handguns and a rifle were recovered but said the rifle was not used in the shooting



HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – One student is dead and eight others injured after two of their classmates opened fire at a suburban Denver STEM school on Tuesday.

Superintendent Thomas S. Tucker said in a letter to parents that STEM School Highlands Ranch, a public charter school with more than 1,850 students in kindergarten through 12th grade, will be closed for the remainder of the week.

"This is a terrible event," Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock said. "This is something that nobody wants to happen in their community."

Kendrick Castillo, 18, was identified Wednesday as the lone fatality, the sheriff said.

One suspect is a "female juvenile," police said after originally identifying the teen as male. The other was identified by police as Devon Erickson, 18.

The troon defence is disgusting. They should be publically executed, there's no question they did this terrible crime. The way their friends are defending them is just sad.

The friend said she knew both McKinney and Erickson personally and said they didn't shoot their classmates 'out of hatred toward others'.

'It was hate in themselves,' she continued. 'And they needed support and they didn't get it and that could have a lot to do with how this ended up. The way that they felt is not an excuse for what they did. But I firmly believe that if they had gotten the help that they desperately needed, their state would not have progressed this far.'

Another friend who took to McKinney's Instagram comments said the teen was 'really sweet and selfless'.

'It's hard for me to accept that he did this so ofc it's hard for me to see these comments (sic).'

We need to teach kids that they should be understanding and nice to lgbt youth or else lgbt youth will either go on a killing spree more pathetic than Randy Stair's or pepperspray gamestop employees. Well, this does seem to be the messaging. Apparently trannies need more love, affection, and positive attention than anyone else at all times. Anything less than that is not "supportive" and is in fact destructive. Any normal teen experience like being nerdy, feeling weird or lonely, or dealing with teasing is unacceptable. The brainwashing is complete: High schoolers really believe that if trannies aren't put on a pedestal and given preferential treatment, they're being abused or neglected and may rightfully snap.

Young people have been trained to think that trannies are always the victims, even--or perhaps especially--when they're murderers. Talk about SJW contagion.
 
I don't doubt there was some self loathing going on there. I mean, wouldn't you hate yourself if you were them. But generally speaking self loathing as the dominant motivator should mean suicide, not homicide. They probably hated the people they were trying to kill.

🤔 Did they shoot them out of love? I never wanted to shoot random classmates in high school, I figured they were all more or less as apathetic to me if I didn't know them. From my perspective, I think we've only made things worse by encouraging teenagers to pigeonhole and ostracize themselves.

That was the unsubtle social message of Fantastic Beasts, that if people don't drop everything and tend to gay or weird kid fee fees, they will lose control and can't be responsible for they do. I felt it was a poorly planned implication, but I guess it was on trend ahead of schedule.

Goddamn it kid. People aren't obligated to give a shit about your personal identity issues. Nor should they. They are your personal problem that you should solve on your own and through mechanisms that you create yourself. That way nobody can take them away from you and you become stronger for it. There is a difference between "support" and "crutch".

Also, "awareness" is a hollow buzzword whose only purpose is virtue signalling. Getting people professional mental health treatment doesn't involve "awareness". It requires notification and action.

My guess is the person didn't mean 'awareness' in that sense, but that we need to actually do something to help people. There are definitely groups that use 'awareness' as a crutch to virtue signal while not actually giving a flying shit about the group they claim to care about, but I would at least hope this person means that by being aware of it, they can help the people who are affected.

I'm probably being overly optimistic but I would think that someone who cares that much would actually want the problem solved. The wording doesn't seem the same as the detached virtue signalers I typically see calling for awareness who, while claiming to care, tells the people they're supposed to be helping to sit down and shut the fuck up.
