Isn't the Monk
the 1st one anyway
an apparition-type enemy? If so why isn't he using confetti? I'm pretty sure she is but not 100%, I used confetti because it just seems so much like an apparition.

Edit - He has confetti on his quick bar so I think he knows it's useful, still doesn't explain why he isn't using it at all but what can ya do.

Edit 2 - Literally was 1 hit from beating the boss. Ya hate to see it, or don't because it's funnier.
I think the Headless might be the first one you can encounter that you can use confetti one. O'rin the water you can as well.

I know, I took the the whole of Mibu village and O'rin as a hint that the Monk was an apparition as well. Could be wrong though.
But as this isn't the real corrupted monk I just assume it's an apparition of the original.

Just checked the fextra wiki and apparently the 1st version is a apparition. If he's using a guide he should've known that. Which might explain why they were on his quick bar ready (but maybe he equipped them earlier and just didn't remove them, I haven't been watching much of this shit show).

Wouldn't surprise me if Dark will go for the "bad ending" just to get over it over with.

He'll claim "Oops, I accidentally picked the wrong ending guys." Leans in for manual bans for 10 minutes. "I guess we're done with Sekiro! ACK ACK ACK!" And everyone knows for a goddamn fact that everyone in his chat told him to side with Kuro.

Shichiman as well. That's another boss where you really need the Confetti or you're in for a bad time.

You don't need the Confetti. At least the 1st time you fight the Monk. I don't think you need it the 2nd time either. Ako's Sugar to reduce damage to Posture is maybe a must against the Monk? Maybe? The Confetti ups the damage you do against all enemy types.

Huh I thought confetti upped the damage a little extra on apparition types. Had no idea it upped the damage on all types. I know it's not needed but IDK if it helps at all with the monk. The only things I know it works well on are the headless and the shichimen enemies.

Ya learn something every day.

Confetti adds a bit of damage to all your attacks regardless of what enemy you're fighting, similar to a weapon buff in a Souls game, but it only does big dick damage to apparitions. Stack them with the attack candies and laugh as you basically double your damage output in most situations.

I really cannot let go of Phil's semantics. He read out a shout out about him using a guide. Of course he denies it but also confesses he does read his stream chat to know stuff. Yeeeeeeet a little bit earlier he mentions how he's going to do NG+ because he got emailed about the endings.

Would it be far-fetched to think he's also getting emails on pretty much everything else? I mean he has some autistic minecraft fan writing guides for him.

So there you have it I guess. He does read his chat for guidance and help, so no, he does not read guides fellas. Now on the other hand. He cannot help it if chat has read the guide for him to relay the information, now that's totally different dude.

edit: Semantics or mental gymnastics? I really don't know whats appropriate here.

I'd say more mental gymnastics. I certainly can't see the distinction between reading a guide and getting preemptive handholds sent to him, functionally anyway. The latter is even lazier, which is certainly true to form for him.

And that he has his own personal remoras feeding him tips isn't surprising; if they're willing to actually pay him money for the privilege of helping him through a game live why wouldn't they be compiling long-form guides with their clearly worthless time? That Papavera fuckwit offered to make a fucking website to fit training wheels onto his Minecraft streams. That's top-shelf retarded.

Those guides aren't going to stop him being trash.

Exactly. I don't think it applies to all difficult games really but having played Sekiro for a bunch of hours now, I think it's pretty obvious that using guides and chat may allow phil to clear obstacles but if you think of videogames as learning a new language or solving puzzles (pahzzle bosses dood!) it's like he's looking up answers to questions in which he doesn't even truly grasp what's really being asked of him. You can only con this game up to a certain degree before you're called out for playing poorly. Doesn't mean you can't scrape out wins in fact I feel like this game is scrappier than every other FS title.. but if you're not even remotely interested in working out the solution yourself I really don't know why you're even playing it. It can't be any fun for the number one fun and chill streamer.

He doesn't really care at all of course because his tunnel vision only lets him fixate on getting over the winning line and more importantly reach clock out time so he can take the munnies and run but it never ceases to amaze me how his own attitude ruins just about every experience he has with games and everything else in his life.

I watched him struggle for half an hour against the lone shadow ninja and thought I was in for a pasting based on his excruciatingly awful display. I could see the camera was trash in that area and that's all he needs really, any form of scapegoat he can find and he'll harp on it all day until he squeaks out a win. I beat this ninja guy on my second try because by this point in the game if you're not familiar with the core loop of the combat you don't even have any business being near this fight. Bad camera? Jump around and make it reset. But nobody told him moving rotates the camera fahk yoo fromsuftware no really fahk yooooo!

Ouch, DSP is lashing out at Swagginz, calling him a fanboy, sheep and a drone after Swagginz cheered this in reaction to DSP's complaints about the camera getting stuck:

-edit- Ok, they're basically fighting now:

He told swagginz to ''be normal' 'dont be a drone' 'youre a butt kisser' and ' im not even going to read what you say anymore'

Swagginz tips him to say he'll shut up now. Imagine being so cucked you get abused by phil and respond by paying him to say sorry.
I give you this choice tidbit from today's Sekiro pre-prestream. D$P responding to a message about the other day's Sekiro stream and Swagginz:

He did this with his DkS and MGS playthroughs, if you called him out for his bullshit or tried to explain that the problems he was constantly bringing up either didn't exist or weren't as bad as he made them out to be he just labelled you a fanboy. Like how he constantly missed plot points in every single MGS game, then made out like the game didn't explain what to do. Even though the game explicitly tells you what to do and even has the codec feature, for supplementary plot, reminders and humor.

Nothing I've seen of Swagginz during this play through hints that he's a fanboy, just a fan calling someone out for talking shit as if he's an expert. Imagine this plot twist, Swagginz being the voice of reason. Just when you think Dave can't sink lower.

So, during the pre-prestream, D$P D$plained how he was...and then two minutes later wasn't cheezing the Ape fights:

713554

Later, during the stream whilst gloating about how easily he defeated a boss, chat counters with:
713557

Owl is going to fuck him up assuming he doesn't go for the bitch ending and piss off all his fans. Just spent an hour+ on the guy. Partially to test every shinobi prosthetic on him, but mainly because he (at least to me) was a difficulty spike compared to the other bosses.

Owl also has enough cheap "unfair" bullshit that no matter what, whether Phil beats him in 3 or 300 tries, he will absolutely bitch and be salty because "it's not a fair fight dude".

Edit: Going to give Phil credit for not picking the bitch made easy ending.

Edit #2: He didn't go to the Dojo Idol...oh lord, this is going to take a while, also Phil now faces the framerate shitting the bed in Sekiro's version of Blightown. Yes, framerate is bad and shits the bed, but not as badly as he's making it out to be.
