He still has to execute. See, for example, that chained ogre he took several tries to beat. He was given multiple ways to try and beat the thing, all of which could feasibly work, but because he can't master even the simplest of combat, he was still getting rocked. Even on the attempt he was successful, he had to use a sneak deathblow to remove one of the health bars and still struggled to actually win, even with a 50% handicap.

Going through some of it now, as I wasn't able to watch most of the gameplay so far, but sounds to me like he (as expected) is failing to pick up on the small nuances the game offers the player, and just plays the game in his usual bold-headed and ignorant way combined with extreme cowardness. So basically the exact opposite of how this game wants to be played.

After giving up on Lady Butterfly, he finds himself at the Ogre. He has an option to Eavesdrop. While the NPCs are speaking in Japanese...D$P looks away, thus not reading where they flat out TELL anyone Eavesdropping that 'the red eyes are afraid of FIRE'. He looks away from the chat and back to the game to announce that nothing useful to be gained by Eavesdropping, just a waste of time. facepalm Chat tells him to use fire against the Ogre. The fire doesn't instantly kill the mob so D$P declares fire to be useless. Fire did, however cause the Ogre to cower. D$P, however spent that time dancing around waiting for the fire to do massive damage...which it didn't. Chat instructs D$P to douse the Ogre in oil and then set it on fire. To which a flabbergasted D$P declares Sekiro is "a PUZZLE Game" as how else could one possible think that using oil and fire together would be a viable strat to use? It akin to when he was utterly floored in Minecraft to learn that sand could be used to make glass! ? !

By "remove things from dark souls" he means the inability to summon help and cheese bosses with Lightning spear and magical bs, or tank hits with massive poise.

Let's not forget his favorite strat of overleveling to the point that his hp bar stretches halfway across the screen
allowing him to face tank most things while upgrading weapons/skills with the aim of One-shotting everything in sight. 'Good Stuff!' that. The game would suck again the moment he was faced with a challenge to his OP brute force strat.

D$P can't grind his hp/dmg to ludicrous levels in the game and he's already complaining about not being able to do so. D$P only has 'fun' when he's able to in some way remove all challenge and breeze his way through a game. Sekiro is making it difficult for him to do this...aside from his house/branch hopping strat.

The game's honestly not "harder" than bloodborne or Souls (besides the lack of leveling).

Its just different. It requires its own mechanics. Not that Phil ever learned mechanics to begin with.

But anything harder than shield cowering is too hard for him.


Edit: The game is probably easier than Nioh, except you can't spear cheese it.

I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag since it's causing some confusion. I was the one doing the troll tipping. I like to think it got a good laugh from some people and I was bored tbh. Roast me if you want, I can kinda understand but trust me when i say this Phil didn't get a dime from those donations.

Muxy is incredibly easy to dupe into sending out a tip notification and when i found out how easy it was I decided to have some fun with Phil. All you do is use an old cancelled debit or credit card. When you click on the muxy link it takes you to the paypal log in screen but there is also a link to pay with debit or credit. Put in the cancelled card's info and click submit. Muxy goes ahead and sends the notification through as the payment is processing. It only takes a second to process before it tells you that the card was declined and to try again. By then, the notification has already popped up on Phil's stream.

Feel free to try it out, even if he has notifactions turned off on stream he still gets a notification on his end and has to check his paypal to make sure it's legit or not. Could keep him busy all day but I don't have the time or want to put in the effort for something like that.

Edit: He reaches a Remnant to trigger a conversation and then immediately turns away and reads his phone even though the speech is in Japanese. Another 'game didn't explain anything' moment.

Double Edit: In nearly two hours, he's killed one miniboss, ran away from one miniboss, killed a random snake, and upgraded one extra sip in his gourd. Busy day.

Triple Edit: DSP just said that if he's played the game for eight hours 'of constant progress and hasn't made it far', that's the game's fault. There's not enough variety in the game.
