Big Al is dumb as a box of rocks. The ‘formula’ never changes because Big Al is incapable of an original thought. Her videos are the same tried and tested format because that is all she is able to produce. This isn’t a case of a carefully plotted social media genius; it’s an intellectually and emotionally stunted obese woman who buys shit.

As for the family drama, that’s inevitable. Each time they are fed a victim narrative by Big Al, feel sorry for her childhood and lack of familial support, attempt to help and step up to fill the gap, realise over time that their kindness is being exploited, grow frustrated, and eventually try to separate her from the family member. Big Al gravitates to sped women with redneck families, so it spills all over Facebook.

The family ends up retracting and apologising because the only person getting really hurt by the brunt of Big Al’s tantrum is their loved one.
