I'm actually more interested to learn about films with Asian villains who are not part of a triad or where the film doesn't take place in an Asian country.

Well, demolition man was 93 and training day was 01, both well before the age of internet social justice when proving you shouldn't judge based on race means you should only judge based on race. I'll give you Spider-Man 2 though. (Though if I want to be a conspiritard I'd point out that Jamie Foxx didn't turn evil until he had his accident and no longer looked like a black man.)
 
Lindsay is gaining weight because the SJW way of life revolves around doing as little work as possible. Their strategy is to sit around and complain until the evil white people in charge decide to just hand over all the power and money.

Yeah. There are criminally too few examples of this, which sucks because villains are more often than not the most interesting characters in a movie with the most well crafted lines and characters. Denying access to these roles for non white people just fucking sucks since it means they are unable to express a full range of acting skills through their careers.

I mean, its really fucking sad that the only black villains I can think of are Wesley Snipes from Demolition Man, Samuel Jackson from Unbreakable, and goddamn Morgan Freeman in that shitty ass stephen king Dreamcatcher movie.

I'm positive Jet Li played a triad member in Lethal Weapon 4 (actually, that's the central theme in the film if I remember right), so that's a no. I haven't seen The One, so I'll look into that film, thanks!

It's not a uniform trope by any means, but it's prevalent enough that when I went to see Jurassic World, the instant the park CEO appeared onscreen and was revealed to be an Indian man I knew he was going to be a kind, sensible, moral business leader, and that's exactly what the character was - despite the fact that the high-power executive is a near-universal villain trope in works today. But I guess if your villain is a corrupt and heartless businessman then he has to be white.
 
Let Lindsay be a warning. This is why you stay away from wine, beer, and sugared up girly drinks. Because that fat creeps up on you.

:offtopic:Drinking is great, and I recommend it. But stick to high proof whiskies drunk neat or on the rocks, or relatively simple cocktails like a real (ie gin and vermouth) Martini, Manhattan, or gin and (diet) tonic. Also maybe don't order fucking nachos with your drink.

No, you fool, you're supposed to see them and give them your money so that Big Hollywood understands you approve of black representation. But you're not allowed to have any opinions about them online beyond praise, lest people be convinced not to see the movie, therefore not "doing their part" to "support the cause".

And it wears me out. Like, I'm one of those people who absolutely thinks more diversity on film/in filmmaking is a net positive, but god, the way the SJ movement tries to convince average folks it's their fault the industry's dominated by the stories of white dudes (instead of, y'know, the industry's fault) is so... hostile and misguided. It's like the media equivalent to cola corporations telling you, the consumer, to go green and recycle and if you don't then you're contributing to pollution you monster.

Having actually sat through that whole thing (god knows why...), I can confirm you closing the tab was the right call. As it turns out, there are only so many ways one person can repeat their own points about why Bright's an incompetent, lazy movie. Who knew.

But hey, at least she's not pulling an Hbomb and releasing 90min feature-length essays about vidya... yet.

Thinking of non-white villains, there was Dr. Kananga from Live And Let Die, and would anyone else count Gustav Graves from Die Another Day? Technically he was a Korean guy that had been altered to appear white (@Alec Benson Leary said nothing about being GOOD villains!. Electro from Amazing Spiderman 2 as well (again, nothing about them being GOOD villains!)
 
He's a Spaniard, tho, and Spaniards are white. I don't get where tumblrinas get this idea that Spain is some proud POC country.
 
Its a difference between US and Europe.In the US prior to 1970 hispanics were classified as white by the Census bureau and there was a tendency among latinos back then to anglicise their names in order to get easier promotions.
With the growing latino population after WW2 and the activism of the 60's suddenly latinos w ere separated from whites now basically meaning persons who descend from europeans of a germanic ancestry largely.Basically the Census bureau has some pretty screwed up definitions of who is what in the US.Its a mix of race and ethnicity culture that adds and denies certain groups based on politics at the end of the day there is very little actual 'science' to it.Anyway these days americans tend to view persons of a spanish ancestry as not being white although its all based on some shaky definitions that would probably collapse easily under scrutiny.
It would probably be best if the Census bureau dropped ethnicity/race altogether from their forms but that cannot be done since politics would get in the way.But the truth is there is very little 'science' to the whole race thing its still largely subjective.
