👓 TGWTG Nostalgia Chick / Lindsay Ellis / TheDudette - aka Hotdogs in face girl

Hold up, did she ever explain why alien-related conspiracy theories are 'hella racist'? That seems like a bizarre statement to make.
This one is at least a little legitimate, ancient alien theories about pyramids and such kind of take away from the capabilities of pre-industrial humans - though it's not especially racist if you consider that ancient pale-skinned peoples like the ones who would've built Stonehenge are also dismissed with such ideas. But Lindsay wouldn't bother with those cases.

But One Man Bland

No one cares about the white man. They've had it good for like ever and ever damnit. Now its time for them blacks to rise and be kings for a million bajillion years and have the white men pick out cotton and be whipped, whilst all the great feminists of the world can stand by their awesome black men and watch over, cackle and smile, as a new world order is established.

Or so I'm told.

Yeah people seem to get upset suggesting the pyramids have been built by peoples that now occupy areas around the Mediterranean instead of people from west africa.

It's like they are saying you are racist unless you only support the blackest midnight people you can find.

In what ducking universe are minorities in major Hollywood blockbusters commonly being depicted as "disposable objects"?
there is the trope in slasher/ action movies that the one black character will get killed off early as a way to increase the stakes for the rest of the characters but its not exactly that prevalent any more from everything ive seen lately, I dont think it was ever a concious decision besides this happened in some films i like I'll follow everything they did, and most of the films ive seen it in werent exactly blockbusters.
It's mostly the kinda thing where they think if there are a couple of black characters who die, then every white person should also die because racial equality or something.

Honestly I'm not even sure if this cliche was ever really that prevalent, or at least not mainstream, considering when you look at the slasher and horror films that were huge hits or received cult followings the vast majority of the ones with minority characters have them die either last or second to last. If they even have them at all.

The closest thing I can think of to what Lindsey's comparing old Godzilla films are disaster movies and maybe that Great Wall movie, but the disaster movie genre has both fallen out of favor and the most recent versions revolved around global disasters where white and non-white death tolls are fairly even, and I'd hardly call it racist to have a lot Chinese extras die when the movie was sponsored and partly made by friggin China.

It’s also present in SciFi such as Star Trek. As a general rule the Black dude wearing a red shirt (TOS) wouldn’t make it past the opening credits.

I didn't think it was a black guy, I just thought it was anyone you didn't recognise being the red shirt. The only black death trope I know of is the black cop 3 days away from retirement.

But since there are tropes about everything, for some reason this one trope is problematic, blonde white girls getting killed in slashers is not a problematic trope. Woot Feminism.

It was always an away team thing. You'd have Kirk and Spock and McCoy and. . .some guy in a red shirt. Guess who dies?

Do we have a proper weight comparison picture from when she began to now.

Using future space technology I have configured what Ellis may look like a few more cocktails from now.

Lindsay said somewhere recently that she was starting to look like Kathy Bates, and at first I thought that was just a deep cutting self-drag, but then I morphed their faces and I think she was onto something there...

Going from "Skinny and cute" to "Fat SJW Drink hag" has to be the ultimate misery.

Patriarchy, what you've written just isn't fair. When I was growing up in Jackson City, my favourite thing in all the world was to go to the movies on Saturday afternoons for the Disney movies.
'Kids movies?'
I KNOW THAT SHITLORD! THEY ALSO CALL THEM ANIMATIONS, I'M NOT DRUNK Y'KNOW! *swig* Anyway, my favourite was The Lion King and it was the scene with the stampede. The bad guy had him on a cliff and taunted him before throwing him off, and he was screaming and his son was watching and Mufasa got trampled by wildebeest and I was so upset and excited, and the next week, you better believe I was first in line to see it again, and then I realised something, and there was James Earl Jones, the only good guy POC main actor, hanging off a cliff, and then the white guy just kills him! Yet at the end all the kids cheered! But I didn't cheer, I stood right up and started shouting. 'This isn't right! Are you all bigots? THEY JUST CHEATED THE BLACK MAN! THIS ISN'T FAIR! WHERE ARE THE COCK-A-DOODIE POC ACTORS?'

I would love to see a film in which the villain was non-white, but aside from rare examples like Sam Jackson (who is contractually obligated to appear in at least 55 films a year or else a bus will explode) that's a pipe dream.

I'm actually more interested to learn about films with Asian villains who are not part of a triad or where the film doesn't take place in an Asian country.
