Folks, when I was growing up it wasn't such a big deal. We had nigger streets, we had nigger sides of town. We had nigger water fountains and nigger-only entrances. We had nigger toes and niggerhead and Nigger Boy candy cigarettes, remember those? Those little candy cigarettes? Boy I used to love my Nigger Boy candy cigarettes. Yah, but there's the tinsy tiny issue of loyalty. When your relying on mercs who follow the biggest paycheck, with no regard or care given to the cause. It means it's only a matter of time before someone willing to pay them more comes along and you find yourself on the receiving end of the swords you previously hired. But hey! At least he'll tell you, "sorry he paid better." when he kills you.

I'm extremely lucky that this does not apply to me, but I know it does for a lot of other people. In all seriousness, if we want things to start improving in the long run. Then the government/businesses/employers need to start working on getting the rank and file of society reinvested back into greater society. A society made up of mercs isn't going to be good for anyone.

I know this is bait, but I'll bite anyways.

I live on Long Island and have for most of my life, so I know what kind of bullshit goes on in here. The Long Island of now is not like the Long Island of the past where the majority of people were white... so white you barely had any niggers graduating in school with the whites. Lots of towns in Long Island have been taking over by non-whites and the whites that continue to live there are a mix of based/pozzed with the latter being more heavy with each passing year.

Levittown - basically Queens part 2 Electric Boogaloo. Used to be all white but not only the jeets, but asians and spics have steaked their claim there. Lot's of asian food places opened up with the former while the later have this one section to themselves on hempstead turnpike

Anything west of Levittown (Garden City, Westbury, Hempstead, East Meadow, etc...) is worse than that. This is all in NASSAU county by the way. The crowdedness and trash of the 5 boroughs basically made their way east and settled here. Whatever "nice" places these towns have are completely overshadowed by this shit, and unfortunately they are the majority.

Even if you find the whitest of white towns, you still are bombarded with shit like this

Even if you were to argue "well why not just go more east", you wouldn't have much luck either in Suffolk County. MAYBE all the way at the tip of the island because that's where the wineries and "high class" areas are but there's still Fire Island, the most well known gay are of Long Island.

The last time I experienced something "based" on long island was when Massapequa high school with the support of Linda McMahon was fighting the town to keep their Indian Cheif mascot because the town wanted to get rid of it because it was racist or some shit. When they won, you saw boomers and maga trucks celebrating in the shopoping center parking lot across the street, but otherwise that's it.

In the context of your conversation about GenZ/young people, it’s the logical attitude to have about modern society and employment in general.

Working hard based purely on principle and an attitude about what’s best for everyone, is something that only makes sense in a cohesive high-trust society. It’s incredibly naive to think that way in a modern America that feels like it’s constantly trying to low-ball and replace you.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s no need to be a lazy shithead, and I’m sure some people do have good employers that are worthy of the effort. But generally speaking, I understand the sentiment of “Why show loyalty to a system that obviously doesn’t give a fuck about me?”. If that’s going to change, then the system and the people who run it need to change first.

In a world where welfare capitalism, in a lot of ways, is dead and most companies don't focus on workforce retention in the long term, not caring about a employee's "loyalty" to a corporation just makes the most sense. The death of pensions in many businesses and the rise of the 401(k) plans played a part in the changing dynamic as well.

Off topic but individual mercenaries who do this would get a bad reputation. And if it’s a group, the leader would probably never permit desertion or renege of a contract like that for the same reason.

A band of mercenaries can be great for places where the government doesn’t care about its people and they need help fighting off pillagers or simple policing
