I’d just like to point out that even Moviebob and Jay Exci like Smiling Friends and dont see it as particularly political. When even a lolcow shitlib who thinks rurals should be gassed and thinks Zach Snyder movies bring fourth the Reich and a tranny who thinks Doctor Who failed by not being far left enough are still LESS sensitive to chud-adjacent jokes or themes than you that’s when you know you’re insane
 
It particularly pisses me off bad because Chris doesn't deserve this at all. DingDong and Julian enjoyed their company and involvement with those guys and are now rewriting the history. Ding Dong talks EXACTLY like Boogie2988. Terrible person. Astonishing.

Ding Dong went on how the thumbnail used on the Dustborn video was deliberately making fun of SJWs, as apposed to the studios terrible design and writing, which he took offense to. He had no problem being apart of this video though

What's even funnier about the Dustborn complaint is that the playthrough has absolutely nothing to do with Trump being president, that's just schizobabble. It should be obvious to anyone with a working brain that Chris loves doing let's plays of awful games. It's easier to rip on a dumpsterfire of a game than have one of the members being super focused on playing a good game and there's less to say about a game that's good.

It’s plain, bald-faced, jealousy. They don’t like that Zach was able to break out with a creative endeavor outside the sphere of Oneyplays fans, and that, were they to actually finish a project of their own, it’s success would still be majorly based on their association to Chris rather than its own merit. Further, I can guaran-fucking-tee they know that Smiling Friends’ normie success is entirely deserved whereas nothing they produce can stand out from the deluge of indie slop they’d be competing against.

I'll echo what a handful of other people here said: I hope DD&J can find a spot where they'll be happy and can get fulfillment from their projects at long last. It's easy to believe that Chris isn't perfect to work with, but the two of them have been so beaten down by life that they're quick to snap at people who reach out and expect the worst, and that's hard to hear. I truly mean that not in a 'Oh, their funny videos from 10 years ago made me smile and that imprinted on me' kind of way - it actually aches to hear whenever people get like this.

You have an eating-disorder-stricken, raised-Catholic, probably beaten and sent to conversion camp for being gay Julian from impoverished North Mexico, who had to grow up fast and support his mom financially - meeting a rape-trauma, paternity-trap child who was treated as a nuisance by his mother and a reject by rich Chicago children who acted like bastards. It's nice that they found solace in each other being dealt with such shit hands for life, but simultaneously they might affirm each other's pessimistic world view.

You WANT to hear a success story come from this. Not a huge one, just a pleasant one that people can thrive against all odds is all it has to be. However they accomplish it, it's definitely something both of them have to do at once.

IDK what note to end on if DD&J ever skim through my post history here. I guess lock-TF in however you have to do it, talk out what you can with friends and family, find an outdoor hobby to do on a random day of the week (make a not-internet friend within that hobby too), and if you're suspicious of giving another chance to someone - voice your concerns ahead of time. Plenty of people want to see the glow-up arc happen, and it's okay to make some compromises to make it happen.

The main thing is that the person wants to overcome the shit they experienced to be better than the life they have experienced rather than wallowing in pity.

Neither Ding-dong or Julian want anything but to wallow. its been 10 years and they are still havent made one thing of value since (ok they released a game that looks like a tetris clone?). Their fanbase comes from something they didnt create. Hell their first post on patreon is after parting with Chris the first time:

Ding dong ranting about how bowlbo was his code is pure sour grapes. Like he didnt have to give it up he chose that and now that its the only game he potentially worked on to get acknowledgement, suddenly Chris is bad?

These two are a pure example of eaten bread is soon forgotten. But they themselves are that. They are currently just trying to use criticism coming their way to cajole money out of the freaks and brain damaged leftists.

But the main problem with that is these same freaks are poor cause theyre fucking shit at life also. This is the start of the spiral downwards to obscurity and poverty. Ding dong can save this at any point and just say "Hey I fucked up, I was under a lot of stress and lashed out at a friend and am sorry". but he wont cause he's too busy reaming a fat BPD Mexican with panic attacks about dolls while thinking of tubas.

Fucking do some work for the first time in your life the pair of you and release your fucking games promised to your patrons.
