Undertale / Deltarune / Toby Fox Discussion

In the Human-Monster war the humans suffered zero casualties and a single ~9 year old was able to blitzkreig through the survivors underground.
The 10th anniversary stream retconned a bit of this, as some humies were friends with monsters and viceversa and there were casualties between the two sides. Then again that stream is not canon until Toby fucking releases it, if ever.
As for magic, yeah it seems completely different in DR compared to UT. Monsters are still "made of magic" and thus turn to dust when they die, but don't seem to be able to cast spells and shit anymore. Or if they can we haven't seen it.
They also have more powerful souls than UT monsters since they have "le Determination!" to open up Dark Fountains, but this could be something exclusive to the town itself. In the dark world, all monsters seemingly can use magic and equivalents instinctively.

Unironically if anyone want something akin of deltarune themes but more complex and light years better written: Planescape Torment.
There, the weird route already happened, but they left you hints along the way.
Is verbose as fuck and the combat sucks, but hey, this is the kind of game you play for the writing and you can genuinelly go full pacifist.

When you get down to it, there's basically just 3 or 4 real mysteries for the story to reveal.
  1. What exactly happened with Dess? (And how this affected others like that were presumably there like Kris.)
  2. Who's the knight? (And by extension, what's their goal? And why is Kris seemingly working with them?)
  3. Who and what exactly is Ralsei?
  4. What's up with Susie's home life? (The story hasn't really been drawing attention to it, but it's sort of edging up against it enough that it feels like there's something important there.)
If/when the story concludes and it doesn't answer 3/4ths of these (or any of the other odd quanderies left unanswered), goyim deltatrannies will genuinely tell you "erm it's supposed to be unsatisfying, not every question needs to be answered CHUD!"
Behead theoristfaggots.

Also about that flower gender stuff earlier, I don't actually have a problem with Seth being some they/them thing because there's no way in hell any of the planteners aside from maybe Blue and Yellow went out of the way to give themselves genitals
Seth matches pretty closely with a common archetype of autistic girl: Those who are uncomfortable presenting as feminine for one reason for another, and interpret that as gender confusion which leads them to using they/them and such. In some severe cases this results in pooning out, but most just kinda grow out of it eventually.
Yeah it is more gay gendershit but you gotta admit they know their target audience very well. Seth is the very specific sort of representation that you can't find in the Blackrock DEI Handbook.

t. Knew a few Seth-like girls back in ye olde ancient days

Is any of this shit actually worth getting invested in or is it all secretly gay bullshit?

This would be writing a romance that completely goes counter to everything else he's writing, including within Chapter 5 itself.
I wasn't going to post this because it was just pointless bitching (until you made it relevant) but I genuinely wonder if Toby's work is a bizarre case of his intentions coming out inverted.
I was thinking again; about how Alphys and Berdly are essentially the same character but from different perspectives.
Alphys was intentionally engineered to be an "adorkable smol bean" that the audience would love.
Berdly was intentionally engineered to be a "gamerbro melvin" that everyone would be repulsed by.
One of them was fucking awful and the other was beloved ...but not in the order that Toby intended.

Rudy will lead an angry mob to lynch Susie in the next chapter.

Has anyone attacked Flowery after Ralsei leaves the battle? Are you able to put his health low or will Susie's healing eventually outpace Kris's attack?

Played through it, Susie automatically heals him at max health if Ralsei isn't there.

Última edición:
Is there any source/confirmation that there will only be 7 chapters? All I can think of is the fact that the chapter select menu shows 7 entries (Toby can add a scroll bar later), and the fact that Chapter 4 is described as a midway point in-game. There could be an 8th chapter and that would still be true.

There's 7 chapters to represent 7 days of a week, but even I have a sneaking suspicion that Toby's not gonna settle for 7 and will add an extra chapter as a bonus for whatever.
8 chapters just looks a lot better and is pretty much the standard, he's already lifted elements from Paper Mario enough, who's to say he's not gonna take this from the games too?

This has been getting flagged down consistently, a product of the "Deltachud" sub-fandom brewing on Xitter. Figured I'd share it here for archive purposes. I present "Ladyman" by Tobias "Flower rhymes with white power" Foxington.

Gay flower designs aside this boss fight actually looks sick.

Is that parrying that's being done to the blue parts? I like offensive plays.

Interesting theory, but is this really true? I looked around, and it doesn't seem like Toby has ever indicated how he expected people to feel about Alphys, and he seemed pretty nonchalant in mentioning in an interview that many fans hate Alphys.
I also couldn't find anything explicit about Berdly either. Though I can see it as possible he was expected to be disliked at first, I feel like Toby couldn't have wanted him to stay disliked given how much he gets in the late parts of Chapter 2.

if were going by the paper mario analogy that means we now get 2 more chapters of the same shit weve seen so far and then a rad finale
pressing x on that one

alphys is a dumb cunt who bullshitted her way into a really important job she had no qualification for and ended up basically killing numerous monsters in horrifying ways*. she also created mettatroon whos the most fucking obnoxious character in the entire franchise imo and nearly lets him kill you because shes fucking retarded. i dont think toby intended for the average player to like her, the "uwu shes just like me" thing is a very surface level reading of her character that even the most niggerlicious niggernerds will grow out of by the time the game is over.

meanwhile berdly deep down is a good guy even doe he acts like a prick. sadly doesnt get enough screen time to show that but thats why the general opinion about these two is flipped

* isnt she also shit at teaching in deltarune? makes me wonder when the dead school kids are gonna start to show up
