Hello, does anyone know if PM2G is a good place to be grabbing repacks from? The guy's on rinru, so I'm not expecting him to be malicious, but his .zips make me nervous (pic rel) and FMHY doesn't endorse nor condone him. Seems like there's just a dearth of information on the guy. I went through like 20 of his repack threads to see if anyone was pointing out issues or anything off with his repacks, but the most I got was one guy thanking him for his work in broken English. Never had any problem ever with anything from cs.rin.ru, though i am not sure if i downloaded something from this particular repacker before. If it's up there it's usually okay, been using the site since forever and can not remember there ever being a problem with malicious uploads. They even put in warnings for the links to shady 1-click hosters by now (which are all fine if you don't download something that pops up in a different window, which shouldn't be a problem at all if you're using uBlock Origin).

Their library of cached content is varying degrees of fucked depending on who you ask. From what I know they have also got similar restrictions for downloads from file hosters. Unsure to what extent though as I haven't used it in a while.
Recommendations would depend on how you want to use a debrid service. For just Stremio afaik Torbox should be fine, they seem to be struggling to cope with the influx of traffic in the wake of the RD purge though; lots of downtime over the last month or two. They also have an account tier that links in to Usenet somehow? Not exactly sure on the details. They don't seem to allow downloading from/through Rapidgator which is annoying as a lot of DDL content that I'm aware of is through them.
Alternatives would be:
- All-Debrid which has been around for quite a long time but has always been second fiddle to RD in terms of cached content. My intuition would tell me they're probably larger than current RD and possibly even Torbox right now just by virtue of age. Pricing is similar to RD. Supposedly supports Rapidgator links but also seen lots of talk of it not working sporadically.
- Premiumize which is newer and more expensive, but I have heard good things about it. Supports Rapidgator links.

All-Debrid is also in France, and will be fucked in much the same manner as soon as they get big enough.
Torbox (edit: apparently it was a co-owner, hanging around getting buttblasted by redditors in his own trooncord) fucked with a dude who had recruited a load of people through their recruitment/referral program by banning him for making a joke in their Discord about the downtime (caused by the mentioned exodus from Real Debrid becoming cucked. Also, the filters are name based apparently, so scene naming conventions are being targetted specifically so it will not go away at any point unfortunately.
Yeah AD could get fucked over also but I don't know if it's a foregone conclusion or not. And I had seen the drama with Torbox; pretty shitty of them but doesn't neccessarily affect the average Joe user who keeps his head down.
Hard to say which service is the 'best' these days, depends on your use case. I do think the rise in popularity of Stremio et al. is bad for the continued existence of debrid services.

I used TorBox for a couple months at it was finicky and didn’t handle seeding well. Also their social media is dog shit and I don’t want to support a company like that. Might work for your purposes though
It still kinda fucks me up a little bit how aggressively they pursue this piddling shit amid all the other, bigger, nastier problems out there in the world they could be fighting/solving instead. Y'know, like actual sex trafficking (which Vietnam still has a bit of a "problem" with) and shit. I've made some progress in being able to rip magazines directly from Overdrive (the service your public library uses to share digital books). The only trouble is that they "expire" issues after 3 years.
Except they don't. They just hide those issues from their UI, if you magically knew the old (random) number, you could still get to it. The numbers don't change... but there are 13 million of them. So I've decided to map out the title (and other details) for every number. Alone, it would take me about 14 months to do this. But if anyone would like to help, you can run some javascript in your browser for a bit. After an hour it'll post the results back to a Google Sheet document. Code's there to look at, nothing hinky in it.
It's even crazier when people rely on RapidGator for their income.
They must be paying well. I say this because there's a certain porn site that has a shit ton of their downloads STRICTLY on RapidGator, that are also LOCKED to premium users.

How do garbage hosts like Rapidgator make money? I imagine it works kinda like you describe it - there are message boards and other piracy sites that pay the admins a fee just so they can have a monopoly. Maybe there are also discounts for getting X number of referrals or something like that.
Just imagine having a premium account for a decent host like Pixeldrain and not being able to post links because there's apparently no honor among pirates.
I've been trying to complete White Dwarf magazine (nerd shit) for about 2 months now... a few of the issues were only found on Rapidgator. Took 3 days to get them, since they limit you to (I think) 2 downloads per day, even for the non-premium shit. Pain in the ass. They make money because 99% of the people who would leech shit can't be bothered to learn how to torrent. If I had to rely on those things, there's no way I could do the free downloads. Not only that, but what's the fucking cost once you've got a subscription to RG, Nitro, Turbobit, and all the rest? Might as well pay for the streaming subscriptions at that point, it's fucking insane.
