The video insinuates that the issues with Chapter 5's writing were caused by the team bringing on writers that Toby was unable to properly manage, which makes sense. The thing is, UT/DR is an incredibly prestigious IP to write for, so Fangamer/8-4/Whichever publisher is currently tardwrangling Toby should not at all have been starved for choice when looking for proven, experienced writers. Even if Toby himself was inexperienced with management, you'd think the people he hired would at least be able to leverage their own experience in the field to put out something passable.
Toby had the absolute pick of the litter in terms of writers and the best they were able to put together was Deltarune Chapter 5. What that tells me is that the majority of professional writers are total niggermonkey frauds who should not be employed as writers. I imagine it's similar to voice acting where the entire industry is rotten and has been unable to produce high-quality work for the past decade, but it's kept afloat out of nepotism and sheer necessity. Toby himself is a faggot too for allowing this, don't get me wrong, but it's undeniable that the writing quality in Deltarune was much higher before "professional" writers got involved.

imo, the playerbase feels entitled to some crazy plot twists regarding the crystals and eggs

Get every shadow crystal for secret boss number 7

I don't think it would even make much sense to force a full secret boss playthrough for a true ending or something similar, but an extra hard last secret boss would be appropriate

Considering we see a computer at the end of Chapter 5 Side B, I hope that they'll actually let us browse the ARG shit in game without needing a real internet connection, having to look outside the medium for any sort of lore for the actual game is gay in practice even if it looks cool on paper.
ARG shit can be cool as long as the creator has the courtesy to organize the ARG shit in some way for later viewing when the events are over and sites die or get neglected. If I have to thumb through a wiki just to put the basic plot together in a way that's remotely coherent, something isn't right.

I 100% believe this new lore was added in reaction to feedback that the chapter didn't move the story forward any and the secret boss was a nothing burger disconnected from the story completely. I think toby decided it would be fine revealing now that there are multiple friends and they're hunters, especially for eggs. I think Toby never intended for mew mew to be this important and changed the story because of that feedback.
This isn't really relevant to anything, but I've always kind of thought the shading around Susie's eyes on most of her maps sprites makes it look like she has bags under her eyes, like she's constantly doped out from a lack of sleep. Not sure if it's intentional since I just found out her sprite was edited to make the shading less extreme between chapters 1 and 2, that might be part of why I thought of her like that, but I still think her later sprites still have that look to a lesser extent.
I'm only wanting to bring this up to someone because I just recently came to the realization that I've never really seen anyone draw her like that in fan art, despite me always imagining her like that.

Perhaps the writing will go back to normal by Chapter 6? Hahaha, nope. Chapter 5 had Sus randomly going into a weird, long, pointless rant that was so pointless, that she even broke the 4th wall by warning you she was going to start ranting. Something normal people don't do.

By the way, in previous Chapters, you could fight and defeat many of the bosses by beating them to 0 HP. Some secret bosses gave you an alternate item for doing so.
Not the case for the troon squad, who in most cases can't be damaged lest you harm the uber-protected minority.
That reminds me: The turtle from Chapter 4 was a regular boss that was remade into a secret one at the last second. If you don't fight him, Geston still shows up later on anyway, which makes the whole thing feel a bit odd.
That blog that someone posted criticizing Toby's choices would have a field day with Chapter 5.
