That Tokusatsu Thread

It's sad that Inoue's last good Kamen Rider series was Agito itself. Faiz was plagued with too much J-drama and miscommunications from different characters while Kiva seemed to rehash concepts from Faiz such as the secondary Kamen Rider being an asshole and the Checkmate Four being a vampire version of the Lucky Clover. Also, the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization is completely useless in both the 1986 and 2008 timelines.

Just like Vince Russo from the wrestling world, Inoue needs some people to tard-wrangle him in order to at least create sensible plots without insulting the intelligence of the fans.
Inoue seems to be aware of his own 'isms is the thing.

The Z-io Kiva arc really was just him doing all his greatest hits from miscommunication drama to dropping a power up there, anyway...

I'd like him to do Ultraman, just to complete the trifecta.

Bad news for Super Sentai:

Just saw the news that Hikaru Kurosaki, suit actor, stunt player and the star of Juspion passed away at 64. One of the early Metal Heroes series I really got into back when, and he was a great lead.
First, it's Gavan and now it's Juspion.

Liked Juspion overall as a show although I find the giant robot vs. giant monster fights to be quite lame since I was spoiled by giant robot fights from multiple Super Sentai shows. The human-sized fights though were more interesting since it didn't always have to occur in an alt. dimension.

Hopefully they release it on Youtube like Zeztz.

EDIT:

Ultraman Teo ep 1 released yesterday, what is a good starting point for the series? I might as well do what I'm doing with Kamen Rider & watch the new series + 1 older series. I'm thinking of Ginga since its the start of the yearly release.

Also what the hell is Toei doing with Project Red? Are they really not going to put it on Youtube like Kamen Rider?

i have seen it all that is out by sailing the seas. I just want to legally watch it like Zeztz.
Zeztz being so convenient is nice. I don't have to torrent or worry about subs. But, Toei's youtube presence continues to be confusing and retarded. That upload they did of the Gaim movie on their channel was their usual 360p shit. So strange.

I guess its a good thing that I've found Gavan Infinity to be utterly disappointing, since otherwise I'd be bummed that people couldn't legally watch it.

So, did anyone watch the new Ultraman yet? I thought it was pretty good first episode. Then again, I did watch it with my kid, and she enjoyed it a lot, so that may have impacted my rating a bit.
Teo's premiere was neat. Awfully lotta poop jokes in the first five minutes. But, the effects and even CGI are still putting the competition to shame. The ending credits were shot in a really unique way. I do like the general idea of Teo's character though. He's just a regular dude from planet H12. Not a space prince, not a soldier. Just some guy who panicked and hauled ass to Earth. The suit actor did a good job with his body language too. Really conveying the fact that he has no idea what the fuck he's doing.
