I'm personally skeptical about Andy's claims that Phil reached out, and would default to suspecting it's just him trying to trigger Phil with an obvious lie that makes him sound even more pathetic and wormy than everyone already thinks he is.
But if it is true, think, really think, for just a second, about the sheer lack of shame and dignity that would be required for Phillip Paul Burnell to send a message like that to Ayundy after the Kino Casino has spent the last damn near full year viciously attacking him and his whole career, his wife, his future, everything about him, reveling in admitting how they hated him the entire time they "worked" with him, and even made two hour-long arthouse movies satirizing him as a sad closeted loser with a whore mother.
They portrayed your mother as a whore, Phil! Sweet chainsmoking Linda who combed your hair til you were seventeen! And you reached out to Andy after all that and said "your gains are looking huge bro wanna hook up??" Say it ain't so!

So Phil is officially a Crinkler.
If someone says that in chat,

Phil was the one at Rainfurrest leaving used diapers on random peoples cars, drilling gloryholes into the bathroom stalls and flooding the bathroom so much that it fried servers on the floor below.

The artist for Rimworld made an "official" DSP character. He can't patch it into the game, but he said that he's happy to share the assets for someone to mod it in.
All he had to do was laugh at the idea that people thought he was wearing diapers and move on. Maybe pull up the picture and go "oh yeah that kind of does look like a diaper haha" and just say his pants were bunched up or whatever and again just move on. Its the getting agitated and tilted about it that fuels speculation and gives trolls the ammo to keep going at it. But he wouldn't be a lolcow if had the ability to laugh at himself for 20 seconds.
This is probably my favorite running gag going on in the Pokemon games, and I was laughing my ass off when he began getting passive aggressively pissy about it. FFS, just play into the joke dude and name a Pokemon that. You'll send it to the PC anyways, just like you send a bunch of other ones people pay to name, LOL.
For a game like that to get a reaction like that, assuming it isn't entirely fake and performative (which is a big ask when it comes to DSP), it makes me wonder if his mother really is in bad health or something.
The answer is simple. He is a shut in with very little outside interactions. Chat doesnt count.
Couple that with the fact Khet holds him in contempt to atleast some degree and Phil probably cries more than most.
And it is performative, but only in the way he hams it up once he actually starts crying. He is too insecure about crying so he turns it into a joke in order to "save face".
tldr: Phil is a immature quasi human (who wears diapers)
He also cried quite profusely, nearly blubbering style in fact, at the end of Chronotrigger. Very few people know this because that game is boring as fuck and he refused to freak out in rage because of his nostalgia boner.
I really only know DSP from KC and hearing the name float around a few times waaaay back in the day so i'm curious. Has he ever at any time alluded to the fact that he might have to get a job? Even in the sense of "Guuaays! If i don't get donos this week i'm going to have to get a real job!"
The way he talks it sounds like he doesn't realize this is how life works. Like he thinks the donos just have to come in one way or the other and he's just annoyed they're running late.
Anybody who can play videos games at even a decent level can do most $15/hr jobs no problem. He could make a few hundred a week just working 3 days and combine that with his twitch earnings.
