🌟 Internet Famous Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

so he enabled the nvidia exclusive mode which is fucking garbage and when he rebooted, since it doesn't work alright and needs lots of configuration, the system didn't boot.
He literally only needed to pass some environment variables to the game and that would have been it.

Spiritual jeet canadian fat fags will literally do anything other than FIX THE POWER TO HIS PROPERTY. And you decide to get a CNC and welder on top of that! He also kills a Milwaukee grinder that is apparently new but he's le heckin' funny chungus!

I'm going crazier every time I watch these videos with how he's doing everything BUT fixing the home and building the barn/shop

XTool have been giving these things to every influencer thats even near the maker space ....... To bad no normal person can afford them.

God is he insufferable. I get he is excited about his bew toys, but the "le epik funny" energy is almost to much to even watch the video. I also think he should tackle these things with more seriousness. It would make for better videos. Documenting your learning process while restoring the house/land you bought would be something quite appealing imo.

Afaik the xtool welder is pretty terrible, some youtuber (wish i remembered who) i somewhat trusted bought it himself and reviewed it. I tried to find it again but its burried in all these shill reviews.

Milwaukee tools aren't supposed to be very good. Though I've been told my ryobi tools aren't great and they work well enough for what I do.

xtool is one of those companies that'll throw free shit at any channel with a half million subs, but wtf is this channel even supposed to be at this point? He uses it on the skidsteer, without removing the giant flakes so it just pulls the rust off the top flakes, then he goes back to remove the burnt flakes revealing more rust... This is honestly probably also one of the worst demonstrations I've ever seen of these products on youtube. At least hit it with a fucking needle scaler first. It's clearly just a toy that he's never going to do anything with.

XTool have been giving these things to every influencer thats even near the maker space ....... To bad no normal person can afford them.
Yeah I never quite understood why. Companies aren't buying shit like this because they see someone on youtube playing with it. Half the people who got one via youtube only make a couple of videos with it and then don't even bother. The welders start at $5,000. That CNC cutting cabinet is another $9,000. Bump that up to the 1200w model(which is what I believe this retard received) and it's $19,000 for the bundle. No one is buying this shit, and you never even see channels having actually bought this crap on their own.

This is dumber than all of the "so easy anyone can do it home woodworking" channels that have a garage with $25k in fucking power tools, routed dust collection to every corner, etc. I can only assume this guy is trying to just become the tech equivalent of this

$800 wireless access points, sure fine. Installing an AC unit, yeah people do that. A fucking $20k laser cutter/welder/CNC cabinet? And he's not even able to claim to be one of the few to show one off on video like Linus does with his $30k 120" TVs.

That's what it seemed like he would do, but clearly isn't interested in that. It's just more LTT style slop content at the end of the day.

You're probably already aware that Ryobi is Milwaukee's baby brother, because TTI.

As for Xtool... are they kinda like Vevor in that they'll throw tools at just about any YouTuber who'll take them in exchange for a positive review?

Had no idea tbh. I was more commenting on the fact that often people will complain about things that are normally good enough out of snobbery.

The Ryobi stuff looks decent for home DIY / hobbyist / craft stuff. I only do the odd small DIY job at home or on the car, so it is more than sufficient for me.

I have an Erbauer drill that I bought simply because I was looking for a drill and a tool/bit set, and they had it on offer for £70. The Erbauer batteries I got with the drills leaked, though, after a few years. I disassembled it out of curiosity to see what failed, and it was really obvious: just black goo everywhere, and it wasn't obvious how the cells failed. My father liked the drill when he was helping me do some work on my vehicle; he normally buys DeWalt, though. DeWalt seems to make decent stuff. One of the things I regret is losing my Dewalt jacket I had in a bar. It was nice and warm.

They sure market themselves like that yes, but beyond some of their lower end laser cutters for thin acrylic sheets and shit it very quickly goes beyond impulse buy territory. With vevor, most of their shit they hand out to sloptubers is priced at a point where someone seeing it shilled might actually buy it.

Other than "brand awareness" I can't see the point of giving this retard a $19,000 laser welder and CNC combo to play with in a couple videos.

come to think of it, same thing with fucking AVE, who used to have a really awesome channel early on until LITERALLY every video he produced was catnip for retard nigger reddit vermin playing up his LE FUNNY CANADIAN WORDS and making gay dumb bullshit like copper thor hammers on his cnc machine
Fuck I haven't watched his videos in a good while. Checked his page and it really went downhill in 2020/2021. The CNC machine came in around 2019 and then the quality has steadily declined since. He still gets 100k on a good video but it is just a shell nowadays. His most recent video is sperging about politics
The ZTT stuff looks decent, but I vehemently dislike the soy "ok I have no idea what I am doing but I will try anyway" themed channels like Dankpods, William Osman (ancient) and Alan Pan.
No company is ever going to fucking DIY a god damned meeting pod
After I saw the title I had to watch it to see how much they fucked up, but for the entire video I was transfixed at the rotund stomach of the older employee. It was like he swallowed a beach ball. I truly cannot think of the last time, if ever I have seen someone like that in person.
In terms of the construction, it would probably be cheaper to frame out a corner of the office floor to ceiling with a few small rooms and pack the walls with insulation than building a standalone pod that can be moved.

A few other choice images from the video

Look at all that MESS. There are easily 13 monitors/chairs for people and they are crammed in like sardines. I wonder how loud that office is with a dozen clicky gamer keyboards and mice all tapping away.
This is dumber than all of the "so easy anyone can do it home woodworking" channels that have a garage with $25k in fucking power tools
I have seen random channels (ex. NileRed, a fucking chemistry channel) that use it once or twice because they have clout and never touch it again, so they really are just sending it to anyone with a sub count and a pulse to trick those dumb 鬼佬 (gweilo) into buying a $20k laser system.

The main concern I get from these kind of videos is how dangerous the laser actually is compared to just how untrained the average """maker""" influencer is. In a few videos you see the beam in cutting mode go straight through one or more layers of steel and etch the concrete below. I specifically remember one shill actually burning his cameraman in the leg (not badly) while doing a cut. The reflections are hazardous, the beam is invisible and I am not sure how much I would trust Chinese no-name laser safety goggles to save my eyeballs. Not to mention if the user simply forgets to wear their goggles, or has someone else walk into their workshop they could cause lasting damage. Industrial or scientific equipment with even a fraction of that power usually requires serious interlocks and guards to prevent idiots from injuring themselves.
Laser cutting for under 100k, let alone 25k is pretty sick. It blows CNC plasma/oxy cutting out of the water so I am actually glad there is Chinese competition in that market to drive down costs. The edges are clean, the kerf is narrow and there is not a ton of slag that you need to clear. I think I however will wait another few years before considering it.

Doesn't NileRed do his videos in a shared space? At least in his case the tools might get use from random people.

He moved to another space a couple years ago, but he's been buying or been gifted all sorts of inane chinese bullshit recently. A kibble food pelletizing machine, the centrifugal liquid dehydrator thing, some cryo chiller to make liquid nitrogen with, metal vacuum casting equipment, it's seriously stupid but it rakes in millions of views and he doesn't have to actually do anything that might be difficult like chemistry anymore.

Also, even if he is still in a shared space, if he is trusting people with that equipment, he's a fucking retard because the liability would be ridiculous if something were to happen.

The idiot did just that himself in the video. Wasn't paying attention to where the laser was pointing and clipped a tire on the skidsteer while fucking around with it, and then etched the concrete below what he was messing with, again while playing around with it.

He wears the chinese laser safety shit in the video, but something else is a problem.

Just because the lenses of your prescription glasses may be impact rated, that doesn't mean the frames can take the impact without the lens coming loose. Not to mention the fact that sparks can fly at weird angles and bounce, and most normal prescription glasses don't have coverage worth a shit around them. There's even a youtube channel selling safety glasses, that actually have side protection and don't look like the lenses could pop from damn near anything. Or hell, goggles that fit over prescription lenses, or even safety glasses with prescription inserts exist. But no, he's just wearing his normal luxottica slop when using a chop saw and a fucking angle grinder.

iirc it is just a larger lab that he himself has entirely to himself with a pair of editors in the back office. The equipment is all entirely chemistry related apart from the odd basic tool like a sledgehammer, power drill or wrench and every time he uses them he has no idea what he is doing and it a funny recurring bit.

On top of all that, don't forget about the computer controlled pressure chamber only to make pop rocks (8mil view second channel video)
Rock1.png

the cuztomized $5000 heated hydraulic press to (only) make bulletproof wood (12m view main video)
Press.png

The broken scanning electron microscope (unloaded in the sketchiest way possible). They later disassembled it for its individual components like vacuum pumps, controllers etc. (2 disassembly vids on second channel)
SEM.png

A pair of government surplus Xray machines (they scrapped one for useful parts, broke even on costs but never showed them working)
Xray.png

A brand new, dedicated machine to make dry ice from liquid CO2 (never utilized or shown in videos)
DryIce.png

An NMR machine to analyze samples (never talked about apart from 3 min video saying "we got this, no we won't tell you what it can do")
NMR.png

A food freeze dehydrator (dried fast food on their second channel, never used again)
Dehyd.png

And a giant unnamed machine from 2 years ago. Looks like a pair of massive, water cooled electromagnetic coils.
Mystery.png

I diagnose him with chronic GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome).
I do not have an issue with him buying lots of equipment. New tools are fun and add new capabilities, but the thing that slightly irks me is that he never really fully or even partially utilizes the machines on video, which is the whole point of his channel. Cool science shit the average person or even someone in a well funded private/college/government lab can do and not get fired.
The pop rocks and bulletproof wood videos were posted to the main channel and were genuinely interesting, but no other videos really explain or utilize the acquired machines for anything outside of quick videos saying "hey we bought this". Run dumb shit through the X-Ray machine to see what it looks like, put samples of products through the NMR machine to see what they are made of and try to replicate them. The possibilities are literally endless as the number of private individuals who can afford the machines, know how to use them and publish a video is strikingly small.

On top of all that, don't forget about the computer controlled pressure chamber only to make pop rocks (8mil view second channel video)
Yes, he's bought many things I didn't bother to point out because it's not fucking necessary. His last 3 NileRed videos were October 2025, March 2025, and August 2024. He clearly gives no shits about doing anything actually science related at this point since he gets millions of views doing lazy bullshit spending gobs of money. At this point it's just the science themed version of "I filled my playstation 3 filled swimming pool with orbeez!" nonsense.

$10,000 a month on patreon when he doesn't always even make a video a month between his 3 channels, merch store, sponsor segments, collab merch(the bz reaction kits were announced damn near a year ago, still taking pre-orders and aren't available), and probably gets grant money from Canada(like Linus does).

Because he was smart enough to avoid hiring 10 staff people like so many other youtube channels do, he's basically set for life while having to do fuck all other than fiddle with expensive toys on screen for a bit(just like Linus). Hell, recently he had some fucking company send him an atomic force microscope... just so he could run some fucking sandpaper under it. Meanwhile AlphaPhoenix and BreakingTaps both did AMF videos years ago and actually put effort into showing how they work and what they can do, rather than just a bullshit 10 minute video and some fucking sandpaper.

Is it the fate of all big canadian youtube channels to get this useless? Is this what the canadian media grant money is doing?

Oh wtf.

Cody's Lab is proving to be the best "infotainment" YouTuber.

He's practically suicidal because his fiancee left him, he cant find a new girlfriend, women hate the fact he's a youtuber, and he's been alienated by all the other sci-tubers for being a wierdo who gives talks at furry conventions.

Didn't he find a new GF recently? She was in one of his stupid chicken hole plastic tank greenhouse video things where he almost killed himself with co2, and she also had a bunch of pickling jars setup that prompted him to risk giving himself food poisoning by making a retarded double-ended "infinite" pickle jar, or did she leave him too within the past couple of months?

And yeah, he's a weird prepper type guy that lives in the middle of bumfuck nowhere constantly playing in dirt without being rich, that's not exactly going to get the ladies swarming to him.
