I’m finally continuing the p4 playthrough I started last summer and it’s so good. P5’s dungeons are a lot more fun, but in regards to everything else I (subjectively) consider p4 the more interesting game

The character portraits for the Persona 4 remake look really bad to me. I didn't have much of a problem with reload. They all look bug eyed and cheap. Honest to god AI would do a better job.

Found a video over a pretty unknown SMT game (at least by searching it on YouTube and seeing no one else did a retrospective on it). The guy doing it is a faggot, but does good enough description of what happens in the game. Seemingly no one talks about it because it was too sexually explicit.

Persona saga is 3 because it got the horror theme right. SMT saga I'd go with Digital Devil Saga 2 due to good designs and actual events happening in the plot.

I just wish Marsh stopped wasting months reviewing RPGmaker gamed that no one will ever play. I understand that a lot of people like those games for going outside the design norms in most games, but it's because 99% of the time those outside of the box design norms are infuriating without a walkthrough to explain how to not fuck yourself.

Marsh's last video is a good example where you have some interesting ideas but the overall plot is ass. And the "game changes if you die and restart" barely touches all the cool ramifications it can have both as a plot device or adding context.

I think he didn't review them because persona has been talked to death on youtube and he wants to give the more obscure megaten games a time in the spotlight.
It's not just the soul vs. soulless argument, but the griminess was part of the point in the original's art design. The town isn't even a tourist destination, it should look lived in and dusty rather than spotless and shiny.
