🌟 Internet Famous Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

i can see linus going with the tranny affair with an ugly chinkwife. but that depends if the chinkwife uglier in person than in those photos.
It's fucked up that he whores his wife out to do their merch shit. But of course, linus fans think she's the most attractive woman alive. Going back and watching the Linus roast is kind of funny because of how on the nose some of the shit is

No company is ever going to fucking DIY a god damned meeting pod. No Linus viewer is ever going to DIY anything like this and has no fucking reason to.

Retards put dovetails at the end with a bunch of leverage so of course the fucking top of the female side of the dovetail came off since it's along the grain. There was no reason to use dovetails for this, fucking lap joints would have made more sense for glue surface area and fasteners. They opted to just re-do it all with regular framing like any sane person would have done to begin with, but for some reason are using joined 2x2's instead of just buying fucking 2x4's for the corners?

The table uses a couple of shitty hinges with no support underneath(how damned hard would it have been to just have a couple small boards that could rotate to support it?). Had the sense to use a bathroom fan light for ventilation. Linus is confused about a USB-C monitor. Dumbshits mounted the power outlets ABOVE the monitor so the cables will be in the way or people have to drape them behind the monitor. Installed casters on the side that only lift the thing 2mm, can't get a forklift under it.

The commercial pod was 15,000USD plus install.

3100USD in materials. 176 man hours to build this stupid thing, at $30/hr

Determines that unless you're a small business with a workshop and bored employees, or large business... with a workshop and bored staff to build this crap already on payroll, that it's a waste of fucking time. Although I would suggest that if it were done competently to begin with, it wouldn't take 176 hours of labor either. Who the fuck was this video supposed to be for? And why are they doing so much "DIY" bullshit content lately? None of their viewers are ever going to do this crap in their apartments.

Also, the availability of the sonopan they used outside of Canada is incredibly limited and the whole thing still looks like shit.

Maybe it's a coded message to his employees and simps, telling them they should not only live in the pod, but also show enthusiasm about spending every waking hour in one.

Or it could be a response to Jake and his barn: "if Jake can LARP as Bob The Builder and get asspats for his trouble, so can I!".

On a serious note, any business that's large enough to require a dedicated meeting room would just go to some place that specialises in commercial fitouts. If a business can't afford to do that, they probably don't need a pod in the first place.

Most of the LTT viewers seem to enjoy watching people just do something and fuck it up because it is wacky and oh so funny or something. Think of "The Boys", and the joke is that Hughie gets covered in someone else's blood when they get killed; it is that level of humour.

Of course, but there are some scenarios where say... you've got a huge warehouse space and then need something off to the side but aren't entirely sure if you want it permanent. Also one of the reasons for these is all of the stupid entirely open-concept offices that were built, and then finding out that you need a space for phonecalls, meetings, etc. without the racket of the office in the background. They're really more for that rather than "privacy".

Still doesn't change the fact that he has literally no audience for this shit other than

I guess? But you can see plenty of people just doing shit competently and actually be able to learn something from it. Like any woodworking channel you'd have never seen them do dovetails like that for the precise reason it didn't work.

They don't want that, though. They want the wacky adventures of Linus and his retard avengers. I also suspect it's also a way to engagement bait as people complain in the comments and then link the video elsewhere on the net and complain there.

In that case, it could make more sense to hire or buy a shipping container that's been converted into a site office. If it doesn't need to be fancy, there are plenty of used (albeit a little dated) site offices out there for cheap that can be resold for roughly what they paid if the company decides to build a permanent meeting room or they decide a meeting room wasn't necessary in the first place.

Or they could hire or buy a new one if they don't mind losing a few bucks during this experiment; the latter becomes moot if they decide a permanent space is needed and the container office they bought does the job.

Valid point, but again whether a dedicated room is needed for this depends on the company, what it does, who's making the phone calls etc. If it's just the boss, then the boss's office is all that's really needed. Obviously if there are multiple sales reps or something, a private office would be required when a rep needs to make a private sales call... but then you'd think that a company of this nature would have taken this into account when buying or leasing commercial premises in the first place.

You'd think... but I've been in enough offices over the years that would indicate otherwise. Hell, even some of the places with enough meeting rooms didn't have people intelligent enough to trench the floor to run power, data, and video to a wall so you end up with those cable covers and shit running between the conference room table and the wall. I'm sure there's also a good portion of "save a buck now, spend a fortune later" at play with some of this crap.

where are the tech tips? I thought this was a channel about tech.

when the guy said he was using dovetails (and 3D printed a jig, and then that was screwed up too) I knew it wouldn’t work. If you had to be cute about it do half lap or pocket joints, and that was before I realized it wasn’t even going to be modular.

11 days to make this, there’s no way even for this being content do you pay for your mistakes and learning on the job which is what these guys were doing

Rich Evans of Red Letter Media built a recording booth for them to actually use that is similar in concept and did it quicker and cheaper than these fucking leafs did, by himself. And it looks on par with what they did. And he’s a diabetic retard!

I have only seen those pods at trade shows really
They're popular among companies that poorly implemented open floor plans, who opened up too much floor and forgot that there are absolutely times people need some isolation. But the companies that did that tend to flit from one 'productivity boosting' layout to the next, and have mostly renovated the problem away since the 2020 office space crash.

Been a long time since I've been at a 'small' company though, so might be the excess pods have trickled down to them, they usually can't afford to renovate their landlords property that aggressively. Probably easier to throw 2-3 in a warehouse corner and wire them up than to have dedicated office space for the warehouse guys when they need to do the rare etraining or the like.

I saw some drama bubbling up in the main LTT subreddit so I had to go check this out myself. Linus uploaded a video today handling a movie theater projector, one that is worth ~$100,000 new and was purchased by them second hand for ~$20,000.

The problem? They manually handled the Xenon lamp bulb enclosure, with their hands, without any protection whatsoever. Xenon lamp bulbs used in movie theater projectors are extremely dangerous and can easily harm or kill you. They have an extraordinary level of internal pressure and are very sensitive to anything, including something as benign as atmospheric change due to being shipped. It is apparently not unlikely that well-used ones may explode after being opened to a new atmosphere.

For reference, this the recommended gear to wear when being exposed to an opened up movie theater projector, like when you're replacing the bulb. Full face shield, ballistics jacket and safety gloves.

This practice is followed in all movie theaters as the Xenon bulb shrapnal is microscopic and extremely fast, leading to severed tendons and arteries with fragments too small for doctors to easily remove.

LTT opened it up with the bulb facing directly at Elijah. A heavily used old projector that had just been shipped.

Linus even taps on the housing with his screwdriver, stating how impressed he is with how robust the material is. This housing is heavy and thick to protect employees in the event that the bulb explodes while the projector is closed, it is also locked with a key and has a safety warning on the door.

To make it even worse - apparently if you look into this kind of projector from close range while they are on, you are almost guaranteed to get severe eye damage. Elijah is a retard canuck and when setting it up, intentionally looked into the projection from 10 meters away, burning spots into his retina for the next 24 hours.

Linus's reaction when his employee informs him he was almost permanently blinded

People who are in the know on how dangerous these things are are very upset about all of this. There's a number of concerns in the comments
