Apparently LTT cables don't work with Anker devices.

always wondered about these pulsed laser things. so do you just breathe in vaporized rust and shit?
If you're an idiot not using proper ventilation, yes. Also not really appropriate for something like that skidloader except on the otherwise easy parts like the bucket and portions of the exterior frame away from things. Last thing you'd want to do is burn up seals, hoses, and other bullshit because you tried to be lazy about rust removal. CO2 rust removal would actually be a safer option, but then again not buying a $10k rusted out hunk of shit when you could have used a rental for a couple of days would be the better one.

He probably saw Farmcraft101 and assumed he could turn it into content like that guy did. The problem is the Farmcraft guy actually knows how machines work, has the tools to work on them, and isn't a soy faced retard like this guy.

I don't even get what the point of rust removal would be on that skidloader anyways. It's a work tool, it's not supposed to look pristine and a little surface rust isn't going to introduce catastrophic structural failure. If anything it looks to be about as worn as any skidloader I've seen on any jobsite. Removing the surface rust from this thing would be like removing spot rust on your hammer - pointless.

Lmao Anker is a really good brand, it's not their stuff that has problems. Fucking parasocial redditards.

surface rust, yes. but do you think this idiot would even begin to know what to look at under the covers? the moment it inevitably springs a leak from somewhere, he's just going to flail around like an idiot and have to pay a real mechanic to take care of it if he has a brain.

And yeah, the Anker shit is hilarious. Other cables work with the charger, the linus cable doesn't, must be the charger that's the problem! fucking simps.

I think sometimes people would just like it to be nice and new again. My old Land Rover's paint job, while a lot better than many, is bubbling. I look at it and think, "I would really like to take this tub off and repaint the whole thing." Which would take me ages even if I were just coach painting it.

You just have to accept that the patina / wear is there and you aren't going to have a showroom machine.

But the TrueSpec® Premium USB Interconnects® are Truly Meeting the Spec™ it's clear the Anker device does NOT meet the USB specification :story:
Considering the Linus cables likely have chips in them and aren't just straight cables, it couldn't possible be just... a bad cable lol. If the people running their customer service had any fucking brains, they'd ask him for his order number and just grab a cable out of inventory, verify it works real quick, and ship the damned thing no questions asked considering the markup they have to have on them.

Holy shit look at this retarded nigger in the comments

In slight fairness, it's theoretically possible that Anker could do that.
(It's also theoretically possible that BMW will give me a brand new high end model just because I'm so damn good.)

If every company that didn't like Linus blocked his cables from working, it would be as useful as a ball of wool to charge your phone.

By what mechanism would Anker detect what brand some cables are? How stupid do you have to be
Because USB-C cables that aren't just basic power cables have emark chips.

Now why in the world would Linus have the vendor set to undefined? Maybe that's the issue and the anker charger doesn't want to work with a cable that has bullshit identifier data?

reddit also checked one

The last time I had a problem with a USB-C cable was in the late '10s, when compatibility was still a real problem. Some cables would provide a charge but no data, some would work with data but not with charging etc etc... and none of them had any info on the packaging to disclose exactly which use cases said cable was suitable for. It was like a throwback to the bad old days of early HDMI cables and compatibility was a real crapshoot with those.

Oh, and I'd sooner trust products from a real brand such as Anker than some mystery meat Chinesium with a YouTuber's logo emblazoned on it. I know Anker is good because I've used their stuff myself.

Maybe it's a safety feature? The last thing Anker needs is cheap undefined jank cables damaging their products and giving them a bad name.

Also lol at the LTT cable only supporting Gen3 USB / TBT4 @ 40Gbps when all the others pictured support Gen4 USB / TBT5 at 80.

Última edición:
A quick tl;dr, an Electronically Marked Cable has an e-Marker chip inside it.

The chip will contain the following, as well as some other information:
Vendor and Product ID - Information on manufacturer and product name
Current Capacity - Does it support 3A (60W at 20V) or 5A (up to 240W), or anything else
USB Signal Type - The highest protocol it supports. USB-2, 3.2, 4, all that stuff.
Cable Length and Type - How long is the cable, and is it passive or active?
Alternate Mode Support - Does it support DisplayPort Alternate Mode?

So when you plug a cable into a laptop, the charger goes "Hey, I'm a charger that supports these power capabilities." The laptop goes "Okay, but can the cable provide this higher level of current?" The cable's chip responds "Yes, I'm certified for that", or No, I cannot"

If the charger, cable and laptop all support the higher charge current, then the laptop goes "Alright, I'll take the full current"

If one of those doesn't, then it's limited to 60W at 20V, to avoid damaging the charger/cable/laptop.

(Apple had a similar thing with the Lightning cables called U2 IC, or Tristar, Hydra (female ports) HiFive (male ports), etc.)

That's entirely possible, like I said wtf would they not have themselves listed as the vendor? They're being made in china or wherever the fuck so that vendor ID could be set to whatever they want rather than just "0". Even the cheapo bullshit cables in that video still have a vendor ID set.

"User says his pricey LTT cables don't work, comments rush to blame both chargers and the fact they're "new""

So they can't even get them from someone who is willing to put their own info there... Just how cheap they can be. Not a great look.

There is a reason USB-C power has these things. It is to protect against cheap bullshit cables burning. Doesn't really matter in old USB where the power was low. But now it can be high with higher voltage and current. Thus reasonable steps are taken to ensure cable at least promises to be capable.
