If it wasn't for Haru's palace, Morgana would probably be one of my favorite characters in P5. I thought he was endearing.
Weirdly enough, once someone told me that you could tell if you can go out at night based on how Morgana is sitting, I found I was less bothered by being forced to stay in, because I at least knew that this was the case, instead of getting told to go the fuck to sleep seemingly randomly.
Okumura's palace is honestly where I think P5R most prominently shits the bed. Firstly, Haru has fuck all going on. Even with her full s.link and playing Strikers, I don't particularly care that much about Haru. She's fine. I don't hate her, and I don't love her.
Secondly, Morgana and Ryuji both come off terribly and for some reason, the story decides that this is the most interesting thing going on, because ??? At least they later got some Thieves Den dialogue to try and make up, even if it feels way too late, and completely borked. I do think Strikers handled their dynamic better, for example when they're defending Sophia from being insulted by her creator.
Ryuji: SO SHUT THE FUCK UP, IDIOT!
Morgana: Come on, Skull... phantom thieves are normally supposed to be classier than that... but not THIS time!
But as I see it, Joker is the one who comes off looking like a malignant retard during the whole Okumura arc, Throughout the whole bit between Ryuji and Morgana, Morgana who is living with Joker, is obviously going through some kind of emotional turmoil, yet Joker seems too dense to put two and two together, and try and head off the massive interpersonal implosion that is obviously building right in front of his face.
