There's a reason why gacha game terms like "pull" are originally terms used in TCG communities. People have that same kind of gambling mindset when they want to win big on a scratch ticket or when they get a super rare card which is worth a lot (alternatively when you get a super strong meta card if you're a competitive player) or when they pull a 5 star hulkster jpeg in WWE champs.
Always thought pull came from slot machines back when they had actial levers you pull.
It's the same concept with card games, as you quite literally physically pull the cards out of a booster pack.
At least in a gacha game you get a new character to use and play with, If he gets a huge pull out of his card packs they will just rot in a folder and be pulled out in a closet cleaning stream in 7 years when he only has 35 viewers.

I think it's that Phil just doesn't care about games, he's just trying to plow through them and complete them. The only exception were fighting games because he saw he could be good at them and gain fame that way, and even then he stopped trying to improve for over a decade now.
