Troonslop "Retro" Games / Demake games / PS1 Trannies / ULTRAKILL / Y2K trannies - Retro gaming is infected
What is it with indietroon devs and not wanting to make a decent tacticool shooter? I don't mean whizzing around the map ultrakill type gameplay but something that is slower and requires you to think. Everyone just wants to make platformers or this. Is it because of ease of access of some nostalgiabait element? There is clear archetypes of games these people gravitate towards making.
I now have an opportunity to sperg out about one of my favorite indie games, Intravenous II.
There's two aspects to the game. The first is slow and methodical stealth where you use all the tools at your disposal to avoid detection and get to your objective. The second is fast paced action as you mow down goon after goon, but you need to be smart about it-they only go down with a shot or two but, usually, so do you. Repositioning and baiting them into clumps so you can mag dump them or toss a grenade/molotov their way is usually the best course of action.
No trannies. No gays. Hell, outside of a phone call with a faceless woman near the beginning, there's not even any women. This is just digitalized testosterone. Would highly recommend.
It hasn't meant anything since 2016. I'm pretty sure the actual Nazis of the 1940s aren't even rolling in their graves, just instead laughing at how much a serious word from a very deplorable and horrific group of people ended up being conflated with someone making an edgy joke (or being critical of minorities). You can get called a Nazi just for simply not liking when someone, who just so happen to be trans or LGBT, manipulate vulnerable teenagers on Discord servers into being part of their cause.
And said modders also frequently work with the original hardware. Kaze Emanuar in particular is working on optimizing Super Mario 64 to ridiculous degrees to cram even more content into the game, into a game intended to be run on the N64 itself and not some limit removing port of SM64.
I don't know how many of these PS1 fanboys actually try to make games that can run on the original PS1 hardware.
Which makes me think, if people could somehow press CDs that could run on a PS1, and released new games for that platform, would that be better, or worse?

I have had a good streak of avoiding Troonslop lately. Intravenous 2, recommended by @green&brown is solid. There's also a genre of stripped down FPS games that aren't DOOM troonage. They have a solid stripped down gameplay loop that include Better Than Dead, High Hell, HOLE, and Shell Soldier.

I just paid the fat kid. Not sure at this point if I ever had a CD burner. I bought a DVD burner in 2005 when building a new PC, and now have five or so of them.
For the record, I looked through my storage boxes today and found an IDE CD burner from 2001. So, that would be my fifth, and oldest, optical drive. Fits the timeline that I was out of school at that time with no more fat kids around.

When you intend to make a game you have to consider the camera position (customers then generalize this into third or first person shooter. RE4's camera position is tuned pretty considerately). If the sell is that your PC's head is off you might want to delicately consider how this would impact that; Maybe it's third person and your head returns to your body to go back to first and you need to switch back and forth for some reason. But no you just trend-follow and make another executionoomershooter. While watching the gameplay footage I covered the bottom-left anime girl head with my hand and the entire selling point disappeared.
While looking through the reviews of this game, I came across this one written by some angry sperg talking about one "Major Arlene" who apparently uses Kiwifarms, and harasses "marginalised members" of the trooner shooter community. This peaked my interest because I doubt that there's some villain using the farms to terrorize innocent trannies, but we will later see if there is any truth to these claims.
Game development, especially because it's easier more than ever to publish and make games, is getting dangerously closer to how music bands are formed. "Dangerous" because it's complete with same drama of bandmates fucking with each other and not taking criticism ("video game band" was coined by Grasshopper Manufacturer funnily enough). It honestly confused me when this started happening to game developers (of all stripes) because something this technical should involve a ton of self-criticism (for a good example look at how developers of Halo: CE were self-critical, the biggest problem causer was Microsoft). The problem is that people who do the "fluff" (art, music and writing) are getting increasingly disconnected from the technical nerd side and ironically more autistic: They do not respect the bare metal that they should so everything might as well just be a portfolio of their art (that's not really good or if it is usually not distinct).
Even if everything goes smoothly, it's because it's because the mature side didn't raise the ire of the cringe side. And the result is "slop".

This guy. I recently remembered an old game which I saw on a let's play, Do Not Feed The Monkeys, and wanted to see it again. Searching for just the game name I saw his video and instantly remembered that it was the let's play I remember. Seeing that I have fond memories of his videos, I decided to see what else he uploaded. This is what I am greeted with:
