They're doing a bad job then because I only see a few out on some street corners and they're always decrepit boomer liberals and overweight, unkempt millennials and get a paltry few honks from passing cars. For comparison when the nurses at the nearby hospital were on strike they had way more people out and about and were getting way more honks of support. Older cars can have sealants that are incompatible with ethanol.
I don't know much about the corroding stuff; but I do know it plays hell in the fuel system if it sets for very long. It sort of goes rancid in the tank, lines, and just rapes fuel pumps and fucks up seals and all the stuff inside carbs.
