They did that, yes. Iran's regime seems to adhere to what could be described as a religious "total war" ideology if push comes to shove.



The government likes to portray their child soldiers as martyrs to.

For example, during the Iran-Iraq War, a 13 year old wrapped himself in a grenade belt, pulled the pins out, and jumped underneath an advancing Iraqi tank, killing himself and disabling the tank.

You can't burn water, so if there is ethanol in your gasoline, and it absorbs water, the water either stays in your gas tank or makes your engine stop running or at least run like total shit. Note that water is denser than gasoline, so it sits at the bottom of your tank.

The primary reason I hate ethanol in gasoline is because ethanol is far less energy dense than gasoline, so as Johnny said you get less miles per tank than if you used 100% gasoline.

You can turn water to steam, though. A common method of cylinder cleaning in diesels, because too much solvent causes detonation at diesel compression levels, is to shoot a fine mist of water via a pressure washer at the intake, filter removed. You obviously don’t want to overdo this.

There’s no puddle of water at the bottom of your gas tank, bud. You run E5-E15 at the pump. You start having problems running E85 in systems not designed for it, which is only a problem because it’s the cheapest option in many places. Most stations have an ethanol free option - it’s about 50 cents a gallon more.

Every gas car that’s been around for the last 20 years has been likely ran on E15 for literally decades and it’s not sending cars to the junkyard.
