Ok so what was going on with this case, I've thought about it a lot ever since I first heard about it some years ago and there are just so many odd details, I'd thought I'd consult the Kiwifarms braintrustThe death of Charles Morgan has always been a creepy rabbit hole in my opinion. Don Deveraux of the show Unsolved Mysteries in 1990 looked into several leads on the murder and a man with a similar vehicle who worked near Don was shot dead shortly thereafter. If you know who Danny Casolaro is it gets even weirder. Danny was an OG conspiracy theorist who I remember going hard after the Clinton's corruption. He told Don he had information on Charles Morgan's death and was later found dead himself before they could meet. Both deaths were labeled suicides btw.
Edit: Here is the episode of Unsolved Mysteries
Ok, so first, Guy disappears for 3 days, comes home early in the morning, has zipties on him, claims he can't talk because there's poison in his throat, tells his wife they can't call the police or they'll be killed. Implies he's a secret agent for the treasury department
1. Did the poison just "go away" without any ill effect?
2. Did "They" let him go or did he escape?
3. "They" don't know where he lives?
4. He's a secret agent But carries a government employee ID on him?
-2 months late he disappears again, Wife gets a phone call from a woman who says "Ecclesiastes 12", he's found dead on the side of the highway, shot in the back of the head according to the police with his own gun. He's wearing his bulletproof vest, one of his teeth is wrapped in a handkerchief in the backseat of his car, there are Sunglasses his wife has never seen before in his car, his car has apparently been modified to allow it to be unlocked through the fender somehow. Has a $2 bill pinned to his underwear with A bunch of stuff written on it, including Ecclesiastes 12, with arrows possibly referencing verses 1-8
Couple days later a woman calls the Sheriff's department, identifies herself as " Green Eyes" claims to be the same woman that called Morgan's wife about Ecclesiastes 12, says Morgan was trying to save his life by bribing the mob with A briefcase full of money.
Being really uncharitable to Morgan here, here's a plausible explanation
1. Morgan contracts that craziness some people get when they're lives are too boring, normal and stable
2. He's 39, has a boring white collar job, 4 daughters and a wife with a body proving she gave birth four times.
3. He starts an affair with "Green Eyes" and gets involved with some illegal bullshit
4. Fakes an elaborate kidnapping for some reason
5. The mob really does get mad at him for some reason (probably being forced to testify against them) and decides to kill him
6. Morgan enters a downwards spiral, delusional about his ability to save himself, convenes with Green Eyes and lays out the plan
7. He gets killed
The Ecclesiastes 12 and modified car thing throws me through a loop. Anyone have any better theories?
