General Wrestling Discussion

I guess it could be considered "lost media" by the internet's definition but there was a CNN interview Mick did in the early 2000s commenting on the Lionel Tate incident in support of the harsh sentence Lionel got. Mick was right but by today's extreme left standards he'd be eaten alive by the crowd he aggressively appeals to for supporting the lifetime imprisonment of a black preteen.

There's no clips of it online that I've found but the point I'm making is that if Mick wants to be the arbiter of morality, then he better remember if he's been consistent throughout his life by today's standards. If not (and he hasn't been) he'll end up on the social justice chopping block, sentenced to the same judgement Hogan got for saying a naughty word.

maybe check for it as just cnn by the date?

tl;dr Mick.

I'm not defending Trump because he's gay too, but where was this outrage before? Jimmy Snuka killed his wife and he's still in the HOF. Mick worked a show WHERE A GUY DIED IN THE RING without any hesistation. Dozens of hall of famers and alumni that are still associated with the WWE have said some absolute heinous stuff in shoot interviews and Mick didn't protest that. Current world champ CM Punk is on camera admitting to abusing and taking advantage of a female valet early in his career with no remorse, Saudi Arabia involvment, ect, ect.

So you mean to tell me you're okay with all of this but this is where you draw the line? lmao. I know this guy is going to get outed as a sex pest someday when the right person starts greasing the right palms.
Didn't Devon mention in an interview* that one of Vince's top stooges (probably Pat Patterson, since he says the guy isn't alive anymore) was a "hard R" racist that was always giving him shit? Where was Mick to defend Devon's honor? :smug:

*I think it was a Maven interview.

I think a logical and smart thing to do is to use Gunther to Kingmake Breakker.
Have Gunther just run through and smash all these legends on their way out the door, turning him into this complete megalomaniac, have him get his W back over Cody and take the Championship (which eventually leads to Codylander) and have a lot of the younger talent try and try and try to beat this guy and avenge the legends…But none are successful.
Somewhere along the way you Face-Turn Breakker and eventually put him into a feud with Gunther. Don’t have Bron completely squash him but eventually the last 5 minutes of the match is just Spear, Spear, Spear, Spear, Spear before a pin.
Breakker does it. The fans see the monster who disrespected and brutalized their heroes destroyed before their very eyes.
Breakker is now King Made.

Either that, or use Dragunov since he’s sorta been Gunther’s Kryptonite for years now.

So you mean to tell me you're okay with all of this but this is where you draw the line?
You could make an argument about the 'sanctity' of the office or that the president is supposed to be held to a higher standard and that carnie shit is supposed to be expected from carnies. Which might be where Mick is going with this.

But you look at all the shit that these assholes do, regardless of who they are or what party they are in, and you can just shrug your shoulders at the pretension or get mad when someone not on 'your team' does something stupid.

Arn Anderson rules
WCW Racism Lawsuit dijo:
"Randall Anderson, who was a personal friend of Kevin Sullivan, Terry Taylor, Arn Anderson, and J.J. Dillon, testified: "I'm just saying they said the racist remark. And I know they didn't like blacks too much." (Randall Anderson Dep. at 109-110). 113. Case 1:00-cv-01720-CC Document 110 Filed 01/30/03 Page 76 of 98"

"According to Randall Anderson, Arn Anderson would not share a room with African-Americans. (Randall Anderson Dep. at 111)."

"Anderson called Teddy Long, an African-American wrestler, a "******". (Randall Anderson Dep. at 83, 175; Bobby Walker Dep. at 211). "

"115. Arn Anderson regularly used the term "******". (Randall Anderson Dep. at 83-89)."

" 116. Both African-American and Caucasian wrestlers told Moses Williams that Arn Anderson did not care for Black wrestlers and that he had his Caucasian favorites. (Williams Dep. at 252)"

"Arn Anderson stated "I ain't piling a bunch of ******s in my car or a bunch of Mexicans in my car." (Randall Anderson Dep. 179)."

"On one occasion, Arn Anderson and other WCW officials decided to have Rocky Boulware change his name to "Little Richard Marley . . . the ****** that was standing out in the yard;" they joked, "paint the ****** up."
Told ya, Arn Anderson rules

Doom scrollin my youtube feed and that faggy interview with Jericho where he talks about getting in Brocks face after he ripped Orton's head open came up and it just irritated me all over again.
I don't care if it "took balls" to stand up to Brock on Orton's behalf, he's a fucking mark and got worked like one. Then got punked out in the process. He didn't do anything other than make himself look like a jackass. And let's just pretend Brock decided to just go for it instead of letting Jericho mald. What would have been accomplished? He gets his shit kicked in front of everyone backstage only to be told when he wakes up "yeah so it was a work. Orton agreed to it."? Gimme a break.

AEW was taping a show in Manchester and a fan reports their Palestine flag got taken away. Looks like the arena, not the company, was responsible for the flag being removed.

All the comments that say don't bring politics to a wrestling show and just have fun are a hoot.

Say what you want about Cody but he is trying his damndest to be the new Cena. He talks just like him. Top YouTube comment says it best “Ts about to sound like 2 politicians 😂

Fuck off Foley.
M.A.S.K. as the thumbnail is based.
President Trump doesn't express a certain level of sorrow over some middling director getting killed
Why would he give too much credit to a guy who wished the Butler PA rally went differently?
Lefties pearl clutching over Meathead getting killed by his son when 3 months ago were celebrating that Charlie got slaughtered on live Camera with a FOUNTAIN of blood cascading out of his neck.
Fuck them all.

I finally caught up and finished watching World Tag League for New Japan. It was pretty damn good. Then I saw the final Wrestle Kingdom card. What in the blue hell are they doing. They are (presumably) sticking most of the roster in the battle royal trio thing at the beginning, defending basically none of the titles, including none of the tag titles, and Yota Tsuji/Aaron Wolf are the only possible new talent they can push from the biggest Tokyo Dome show in 2 decades.

And just to prove that it's Tanahashi's retirement selling out the dome, they can't even sell out the Gym for their equivalent of Raw after Wrestlemania called New Year's Dash. They are fucked, they haven't built any stars and seem to maybe be on track to potentially start to elevate a super green Judo Gold Medalist and possibly Yota Tsuji, with no challengers on the tours for them. And no, revamping the United Empire stable with mystery teammates isn't going to turn their attendance around.

And we're going to end the night with three double champions, (DOUKI already has both Jr. Titles, Saya or Syuri will hold both the IWGP and NJPW Strong Women titles, and whoever wins of Tsuji/Take-A-Shit will hold the IWGP World and Global titles.) so unless some of them are doing double duty or at least some of the titles get vacated eventually, they'll be defended even less.
