Reorganization of September 29th, 2025

Ehhh i'm not sure I agree with the merging of community watch with lolcows. The others sure but those all refer to individuals while community watch is about actual groups not individuals

Not criticizing or kvetching over the revamp, but I have an observation.

The first thing I noticed when seeing the new front page for the first time is how lolcow content appears to be deprioritized, with the off-topic boards standing out more than before.

Given Null's concern about the Farms stagnating and a sense that the tide may be turning against those who have slandered KF, I can see why there is a greater emphasis on the off-topic boards.

Normies who may have heard about the Farms either via Null's appearances on various podcasts or via other means could be turned off by and/or bamboozled by all the lolcow content on the front page, especially if they're more interested in Null's takes regarding free speech and protecting the US Constitution rather than laughing at retards on the Internet.

Whether this is KF's Something Awful or 4chan moment in terms of becoming a bit more mainstream, who knows... but I don't think it's a coincidence that the revamp happened in September.

her thread predates the board. i could pull it over.
If the goal of the changes is to make the site easier to navigate and the distinctions between boards less arbitrary then it stands to reason that what's needed is a clear definition of who is and who is not a Beauty Parlor cow.

Based on who is there currently the most obvious common factor is that they are all women (or at least primarily women focused for the Anisa and Ian thread).

If that is the case then all female cows should be in the Beauty Parlor, if that is not the case then whatever the deciding characteristic is needs to be established so the worthiness of threads can be properly assessed.

god you people are so fucking gay, i'm clearly not trying to deprioritize the fucking boards, they're at the top of the fucking site and I'm adding more for foreign languages.

It has less to do with appealing to new traffick than it does making the experience nicer for the people using the site. There's lolcows of all kinds who are forever going to have their threads bumped over the niche shit that fascinates me and I would rather not mark to a follow those threads when they do get bumped and spammed with shit bc not every bump is actual milk. The things I pay attention to are already either at the very bottom of page 1 or somewhere inbetween and I do not feel like having to use search/alt-F just to find their threads every time. At best, I have to find the first post with a tag of that category to click on to sort by those categories.
👎
Subscribe to more obscure \ less active threads you like, it'll pin them to the top of your main page, right under features:

Thanks for all your hard work. It kind of blows my mind how much thought you put into this place considering it's just a bunch of retards laughing about other retards, but I appreciate it.

I know the lolcow boards are at the top of the front page; I've just put myself into a typical normie's shoes who may have first heard about KF via the fight with Ofcom, or your recent appearances on podcasts that appeal to broader audiences (long may these appearances continue, but I digress).

It's true that you've made no secret about growing the Farms, and there's only so much demand for lolcow content.

imo the revamp seems to be a good compromise, and for what it's worth I've found having most lolcows in the one place rather than in separate subfora (International Clique and BP notwithstanding) to be an overall improvement in user experience. In fact it's reminded me of a few lolcows I'd forgotten about, so thanks for that.

i only follow a small number of cow threads so the change doesn't make much difference to me

i do see how it could make things more annoying for people who follow a larger number of cow threads, and potentially make it harder for threads to attract new posters. which may or may not be a bad thing depending on your opinion lol. we'll see what habbens

One of my favorites is Bossman. Only thing is I have to scroll atleast half a page to see if someone posted anything.
If they didnt then it is bottom of the page or page 2.
IDK. Maybe asking users for feed back. In the end it is your website and I hope it works for you.

Now move the v-tuber section to Lolcows and put all the posters there into camps.

Fewer boards, fewer automatic "highlights" on the main page. Right now KingCobraJFS is topping the entire Lolcow section, is he really the most newsworthy thing happening across the entire Internet?
Can the auto highlights assign less weight to negrates? I hate scrubbing through threads by highlights where every "highlight" is some retard cropdusting his shit opinions and starting 20 pages of gay slapfighting.

Im too stupid to navigate the site and im still stupid this update didnt help Fuck you im boycotting this site forever ok I'm over it Im ending my boycott, hope you learned something.

i was worried when i read the post about the changes but then i went and checked said changes out for myself and i like it a lot actually. my original fear was that it would be impossible to find specific people now with everything jammed together but then i saw that if you just click the tag they have you can browse by that tag. to anyone who finds these changes bothersome i would suggest just watching the threads you actually care about.
You have to know the tag you're looking for to find the person you want. If you watched a youtube video on Cyrax how would you know he's in internet tough guys?
as far as growing the site is concerned i think these changes will help grow the site as it will encourage searching.
This change limits growth by strangling less popular threads. If lolcow forum is dominated by the same most popular cows there's less chance for people to see the less popular ones. So you end up with no more cross pollination and then when people get bored of the big cows they will leave the site.

It's the same problem 4chan has where too many boards were made so people no longer had to mingle among things they weren't interested in. They stopped noticing things and randomly checking it out. There it was because content was divided too much and here it will be because there's no content divide so the most popular threads will always be the front page. Then there's very few people going 2 or 3 pages back to discover random cows they wouldn't have checked other wise. Especially since many of us have niche cow interests and topics like Furries just don't appeal to us. So we're going to be less inclined to browse the lolcow section because a lot of the content is irrelevant to us where as we would have checked Internet tough guys and grift wars.

>go to Lolcow to read about some retarded but otherwise harmless idiot
>get jumpscared by KeroTheWolf and other literal dog rapists

(:_(
I feel like horrorcows should have their own section but maybe that's way too much darkness and misery for one forum to contain.
Homie said "I need a trigger warning : ((((((("

I appreciate everything you do man. I know that naysayers will always disagree with changes, but sometimes they are necessary.

Should Ralph's aspects even still be separated into a bunch of threads anymore? I feel like the ralphamale happenings have slowed down enough that one Ralph general thread would work better at this point.
